Somehow, I predicted this would happen. Chase Elliott's following in his mentor's footsteps. When they won their respective championships, They had five wins all together in the season. Both of them won two races in the regular season. Both won the round of 12 Charlotte race. Both of them won Martinsville to get to the championship four. Both of them started at the rear of the field at the championship race. And when it mattered the most, both were upfront and won the race and championship.
While this is not the greatest NASCAR championship story in history, it is still a true honest-to-god passing of the torch moment, where one champion ends his journey, and another begins to skyrocket on his own.

I grew up watching the original 2000s Hendricks crew as well, and with Jimmie retiring, it just means the crew is gone.
Makes me sad, but Hendrick has some great momentum going into 2021.
Can’t wait for the years to come for Hendrick :)

I was stoked to see Chase win the championship. Like father like son. JJ was respectful as always. I hope Chase and Larson bring home the championship for 2021. I remember Bill racing that same number in a dodge back in the early 2000s and I’ll push it even further to hope Chase wins more championships even rivaling JJ for 7.
A guy can dream can’t he?
