Bruh when ty Dillon was coming on slicks there in stage one he really was Lewis hamilton for a bit. Don’t know why he was so much better than Newman though who also took slicks early

Would've been nice to have a "Radioactive" for the Xfinity race the previous day. Now THAT was a slopfest; one more cup of water on the Roval and the drivers would've needed outboard motors to drive it!

3:09 this really was a heck of a save. One car almost plowed into him right after he spun and he got out of the way just fast enough.
Race was somewhat tamer than I expected. Wish they had a few more cautions at the end, because rain was like a a few miles away by the time they ended! Would've loved to see a sprint in the rain.

I have heard all my life other sports talk about Car racing is not a sport. All people do is drive a car left. I would love to see someone like Micheal Jordan or Trevor Bauer get into a NASCAR car and race it around the track as these guys do. It takes an Ultra Sports Athlete to drive a NASCAR race car.

Code for staying out, they talk about it in the actual broadcast. It's referencing a notable race where Petty stayed out to win a race.

So question. Did nascar let the teams choose slicks vs rain? So there were cars on both on the track at the same time?
they let the teams choose, everyone started on rain tires but it was up to them to decide when the track was dry enough for slicks. That decision to risk going to slicks earlier than most is the big reason why Ty Dillon won stage 1.
Nascar will only throw one tire caution for weather during a road course race where teams can decide whether to switch tires or not. Everyone started on rain tires but there was a caution early when it was just beginning to dry up and they decided to make it the weather caution but it was still a little wet so most stayed on wet tires but a couple chose slicks and almost wrecked multiple times early after the restart.

Naa..I understand how he had to feel, being this his last season racing in the top level and the power steering getting knocked out of it, in his last chance to stay in the chase..sucks. Still came home tenth, pretty impressive! I'm I Chase fan, was a HUGE Earnhardt Sr and Jr fan but, yeah..gotta hate seeing Bowyer not get one last shot before retirement..
