I like that you kept the old with the new. It looks fantastic. Lots of cat supervision needed on this one. Thanks for sharing! Peace and love..Suz What ☮️💛
Jay, you’re amazing! That table looked more at home at the tip than it would have at a card game! But you saw it and saved it. It even has BLING now! I love your channel, your new music, your furry friends and your rescues, just everything! Keep at it mate. ❤️🦘🇦🇺😊
Nicest kitty. He is very handsome too. I had one a lot like him. The best. This cat of your neighbors can shed inside their house and you have him for company at your shop. It's a good arrangement. Lucky. G
What a remarkable restoration my friend. It looks brand new & ready for many more card games to be played on it. When it comes to slotted screws, it is the sign of a TRUE CRAFTSMAN who lines up the slotted screw heads. Great job, Cheers, Don from South Australia.
I wanted to take a moment to thank you very much for your wonderful channel. If my father were still alive, he'd really love it. It's both relaxing and inspiring; and it always has a great payoff in the finished item...stunning!!! You are a great craftsperson! Last but not least, thank you for showing us your cat!😺
You've demonstrated that not every restoration needs to be completely dismantled and sanded down. Sometimes just a good cleaning and refreshing is enough. Often, folks have pieces in their homes that need some love but would seem impossible for someone to tackle. But with just some minimum care the piece can look lovely again.
Great job on the table and I really liked the addition of the corner protectors! I was sure that the kitty approval process would involve laying on the top and covering it with cat fur, LOL.
I love how you finished that video! You have the most charming personality you would definitely be someone I’d hang out with! Your projects are always beautiful and your creativity is masterful! Great job,,,I will always watch your channel thank you for sharing and I’m so glad you hung in there and allowed your channel to excell to greatness!
The brass corners were just the right touch. Great job! I saw a guy who uses the wax sticks by rubbing them in to the wood. I thought it strange, but he makes it work. Hugo is such a sweetie and so patient.
Growing up in the 60s in the US, everyone had a card table, but it didn’t look like that!ours was a Samsonite, with metal legs - no wood at all. My grandmother’s was part wood, part “paperboard”. The one I got when I got married was vinyl on top. Ours were all practical - seating for guests at large gatherings - but yours is MUCH better looking!
With each project, you're upping your game. Pun intended. This gaming table has a new life with friends and/or family around it. Many enjoyable hours. I'm one of the two who appreciates the screws lined up. Those little details make a difference. Your editing skills have stepped up as well. Well done, wonderful person.
Beautiful restoration love the final little details. Your fluffy kitty supervisor approved 😊 You also did a really great job bringing back the original stain and finish.
I love the care and attention that you give to the old and broken…the brass additions really make it shine. That your screws are aligned takes the whole thing to FABULOUS. 😉
Beautiful job. I have seen other restoration projects from different restorers. Their work is fine, but only you and David are the best I have seen so far to take your time to thoroughly clean and finish the wood, bringing it to its full beauty and glory. Thank you so much for sharing. Looking forward to your next video.😊
Wow! Beautiful! And adding the corner pieces was a stroke of genius. And btw...I'm 1 of the 2 people with OCD so thank-you for matching all the hardware & aligning all of the screws.🤣 This was a fun video to watch. Tonda USA
Great restoration. I love your explanations of what you are doing, not just timelapse video of a restore. I bumble my way through my projects not really knowing what I'm doing, so it helps. Thank you
I'm 34, have been learning about woodworking for 30 years, and I learned about 2 weeks ago that there are rubber pieces made specifically to be wrapped in sandpaper to fit specifically into certain sized grooves to make sanding more articulate. I love how the ways I learned are so archaic, nearly, and that there are so many new things to help make it SO much easier to get a desired finish so much easier!
Love these wooden game tables. They are well made and stand the test of time. Love watching the transformation. 😊 I bet Hugo loves you as much as he loves his family. Now the table has had a cat scan. Plus approval.
I really enjoyed this project. Really like the corner protectors you added. Plays so well off of the wooden base colors. Those deep tones with the pop of green and brass❤❤❤. Your quality inspector gave multiple approval too.
Looks like that project was 'easier' than many of the others you have completed Jay! The results are stunning as always. Looking forward to the MCM collab video
I accidentally found your channel, and I'm so happy I did! Your attention to detail is appreciated, and your knowledge of your craft is shown in every video. The screws must always align! It's more than fancy AF. I don't know how many cats are yours, or if they're all neighbor cats, but I look for them in every video. Their supurrvisory duties are well compensated with snacks. Please remember to mention their names when they visit. Greetings from Seattle WA USA!
Aww Jay, you did it again. It’s absolutely awesome looking. I like how you added the brass corner pieces n it does look much richer. That’s really a nice card table. Now you need to have some guys over for a night of poker 😅. I’m happy you showed how you filled in the holes with that colored wax. Now I know how to do that without using yucky wood filler. I have to admit I’ve learned quite a bit a from watching your videos. Of course I’ll never be as good as you or ever have such cool tools. But I do look forward to watching your videos. You always do some amazing pieces of furniture. I think your project was well approved by the fluffy kitty.🐈⬛ ♥️♥️♥️😊👍👍🌟👏👏
I really love how you respect the history and potential you see in each project and always make it the best version of it. I also appreciate your attention to details, like filling in worm holes and aligning screws and getting the colors right. Thank you!
Thanks for taking the extra moment to line up the brass screws. I think there are more than two of us!
😉
I died laughing when I heard Jay say that. He loves us all!😂
Yup! My thoughts exactly! 😅
Yup. Intrinsic to the end result.
Meticulous and miraculous. ❤
The card table is quite nice but the cat is frigging gorgeous!!!
Thank you from the bottom of my obsessive heart for aligning those screw heads the same! 😅
Ha ha ha you’re welcome 😉
@@Flippingdrawersthis was a hot mess. Wow did you make it a unique piece with the brass hardware.
Great result. Love the brass corner pieces you added. You are right; they add a bit of elegance.
Thanks so much! 😊
That you put in the same care in a small card table as in a big piece is why I love your channel!
Oh thank you!🤩
@@Flippingdrawers*I agree!*
Hello the beautiful man! I love your channel, your humor, your smile, your calming voice, your hard work, your neighbor cats… ❤

It's fabulous Jay. The addition of all the little brass elements and those corners were just what it needed. Definitely elevates it. Well done.
Emer!!!! Message me on instagram
I’ve been trying to contact you for several days now 😂 you won the screwdriver thingy
Beautiful work!
(Love your interactions with your cats!)
Also enjoy your calm and soothing music choices.
Rivets can easily be removed if the heads are carefully ground off, but new rivets or bolts will obviously be needed when reassembling
I like to drill them out but you have to be really careful to center your drill and slowly step up the drill size until the head comes off
That’s why I said I didn’t replace them lol
Another beautiful project .
Thank you! 😊
What a beautiful dark colour! The brass corners really added something to it. Very well done sir.
