I’ve watched a lot of your video’s and they’re excellent! I would like to mirror the comments about this car. I have not long sold mine, which was exactly the same model and age of the one in the video albeit slightly better specced with comfort seats and rear entertainment. This video has made me realise what a mistake I made in selling it!! I will add a slight qualification though and say don’t be afraid of the high mileage. I bought mine with 163k and rand it up to 210k and other than some general wear and tear items such as bushes, rear air springs and shocks, it didn’t miss a beat. I have owned upwards of 45 cars, and I would trade any of them for one of these beasts again. Possibly a 35d or a 50i next time though 😍😎
I have exactly the same car, same colour same engine but mine is xdrive and it have the comfort ventilated seat, also i have the driving assistant ( line departure warning and active blind spot detection). All that I can say is that some people might hate this design but as an owner this car is it the perfect car (comfort, driving position, consimption, and reliability).
There is no denying it’s a big car. It’s actually wider than a Range Rover!! I would recommend hanging on for one with a rear view camera. I’ve driven most things, including HGV’s and I struggled with it at times. Still would not hesitate to have another one though!!
The car is just amazing. So spacious, sporty, reliable, positioning you out of the crowd. Design? Timeless. It makes me always laugh how others are trying to bring breathtaking look. And result is always the same. In couple of years those cars are just forgotten. It is not going to happen to 5 GT. Excellent submission for nowadays SUV's, for nowadays "trendy" and senseless cars. My first choice was 5 series, then I've just decided for 5 GT. And no regrets, 5 GT is just giving me much more sense. Maybe it's good that these cars are so underestimated. Then you can enjoy your uniqueness on the road. In every way. I just love this car, don't be afraid to pick up one, you will never regret your choice.
I like the GT series of cars from BMW. I own a 3-series GT myself. 320d GT. 0-100kmh in 7.9 seconds while getting 49 MPG or around 5.6L/100km. Very practical. It is based on the 3 series long wheel base platform that they have in China. So there's loads of legroom in the back. And loads of space in the boot. Very confident suspension and handling, good insulation, good equipment. Good price used! My car is 7 years old and hasn't had a single issue ever. I've only done regular maintenence. So they're quite reliable as well.
Great review Matt. I've owned my 2015 5GT M Sport for 4 years and 40000 miles. It's been the best car I've ever owned. Never spent a penny on it other than routine servicing and a set of tyres. Hugely spacious inside. Excellent in terms of practicality and beautifully engineered.
Bought one 2 years ago, my fifth BMW after some 3 series and a 5 Touring (E39). Mine is from 2012, with the 2.0 Diesel. Imo the best BMW I have had. I always wanted a 7 Series as I like large cars for their safety and the 5 GT is just perfect Thanks to the 4 wheel steering (option) the cars feels much smaller when driving in a city or parking garage. Kids love the space on the second row. Thanks for your positive comment, the car deserves it.
Bought one in Jan. Amazing on long journeys and around town due to during position.tall kids love the rear. Bit of a sit up and beg driving position but my wife loves it. Just be careful as a set of 20inch tyres cost 1200 quid . Prefer the new shape from 2013 if affordable. Seats are fantastic. Best ever . Very solid car!!
purchased a 530d m sport in july 2020.ive had some serious cars over the years and this overall tops the lot. performance, space, int finish and pure driving experience.i can live with the star wars rear end love it.as a car 9/10.

Again a great and often funny video...keep them coming we all love them. Apart from the three nut jobs that have already given it the thumbs down...👎 Why?
I've had my facelifted 530d GT for a year and a half, put 30k miles on it so far and has been absolutely flawless and a dream. It also happens to combine the best of both worlds - M Sport pack with SE (standard) suspension.
@@HighPeakAutos It is a great car, nothing else like it on the road and that is why I love it. It stands out in a big fashion. Mine has been to the far end of Europe and back twice now and the journey feels like nothing.
Just swapped my 2011 535d GT after over 5 years of ownership. It was a great car and ideal for what I needed at the time, bit big when parking though. Did not have high miles on it but the bills were starting to add up! Watch out for the sun blind breaking in the roof, it’s common fault and costs a fortune to fix plus the interior never goes back together the same!
My father owns one , built 2010 , sold in 2011 to the old owner and bought by him as “second hand ” in 2013 with already 175.000 km ... immagine what a road eater this model is . Now in 2020 the car has reached 232.000km and has never given any problems by only doing regular maintenances by my dad himself . we once made a trip from Bologna (Italy) to’ Northampton (England) and we drove 1700 km non stop in 17 hours ... It was the best long range driving experience i ever had . Definitely would buy one if the GT version comes back to the series 5 in these years.
I test drove one around 2014, I loved it, shame it had too many miles on it. It’s so roomy at the back, felt like being in a limo, huge leg room. Given the choice I think I’d go for the 3 series GT, but only for the size. Driving in London with a big motor can be a nightmare where to park. However given the choice if driving in London was not an issue, I’d go for the 5 series GT. Keep up the videos, I always like them
There is a reason why it is rare......the Shrek of the automotive world! Another excellent video, keep up the great work! Very distinctive reviews.......
You never fail to disappoint👏🏽👏🏽, my dad owns one, 2012 520D GT M-Sport with 20inch. At first i wasn't a fan of the rear but then it grew on me. Also is a very high spec model nearly 12k options, hud, rear entertainment & night vision recognition, surround camera. It's a very good car I have to admit.
Thanks for the vlog, hopefully I’m picking up a 530 d gt tomorrow a 2010 with 49000 on the clock. I am subscribed to your channel anyway so keep up the good work 👍
Another superb review! And your'e absolutely spot on about the styling. It's taken a few years for me to adjust to it, (because I'm not that keen on estate cars), preferring saloons anyday. However, rear-wheel drive is still the best set-up from an engineering point of view, so I'm seriously looking for this type of car now....particularly as there's a very handy drawer to store my 'crisps!'
Not BMW’s best looking model, the back looks like it’s been rear ended. But it was designed as a autobahn mile muncher and a load carrier and I’d imagine it would do it in comfort.
I've just bought a '68 plate 6 series GT, picking it up next week, can't wait. Definitely an upgrade on my A6 Avant. Only 20k subs when you made this video, keep up the good work 👍
@@KP56SS just seen this mate. She's a darling, the A6 definitely was nicer to drive but the 3.0litre BMW engine is brilliant. I'll never tire of hearing that noise 👍
I’ve owned two 5GT’s - then bought new 7 series tech fest but sold it for 640iGT which is powerful and 4 wheel drive with full air suspension. All excellent cars. Buy one if you can, the GT is very limited availability and new model no longer sold in the UK.
I unexpectedly had to look for a new (used car) after my Jag XF (Ingenium Engine) died, after watching your review, I started to look and test drive them. OMG the 3.0L V6 is a stunning engine, so smooth and very powerful, such a great car to drive. Hence I've just brought one, old and high mileage due to my unexpected budget but it still feels more solid and better to drive than my XF did and I loved the jag. Kids think they are in a limo in the back, I could just drive that car for miles and miles, so comfortable. Your review was spot on, keep up the great work!
I had a 2014 535d GT with 313ps. Was immense, did 40mpg, seats so so comfy and very quiet inside. Gearbox was amazing and always engaged same cold or hot unlike vw DSG. Very reliable.
I have owned a 535gt executive for 1 year it is an immense beast but thirsty. Load space is colossal - I fit a large mountain bike in the boot with seats folded. Without taking the wheel off! Cheap luxury. BMW semi command raised driving position is convenient for getting in and out especially if you're tall. I have never owned a car with this much head room or leg room. It feels like an SUV in my opinion.
Nearly spat my tea out with your..it got this handy drawer to put your err crisps in! Excellent! Really enjoy your reviews. The fact you are selling these vehicles but not selling them works brilliantly.
Could not agree more Matt. First, I think it looks gorgeous which proves really beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I am looking into buying one of those next summer, a used 3litre diesel one, possibly the M Sport. I agree about the ride, but wouldn't mind the extras. You described it beautifully; An underrated family car with plenty of space and luxury still very contemporary, and and a rewarding driving experience on demand. May even retrofit ApplePlay and digital cluster if possible.
I see these everywhere in China. They're perfectly suited the market over here with loads of leg room and plenty of gadgets. I still hate the look of them but you've sold me on the idea of one as a perfect family car. Off to autotrader now.
Another cracking review of a little known BMW which is so versatile and a great alternative to a SUV and a lot more exclusive , lovely interior and great with the panoramic sunroof. Will be on my list of cars to drive when I next want to change . Wish I lived closer to Matts showroom .
I have the 35xd 12 model, I would reccoment, People try out 530d and 535d before choosing one. If you do a lot of Miles, forget the petrol, it is Way to expensive in fuel economi. But the gt is by far the most comfordable car I ever owned.
l watched this older video for a trip down memory lane as an ex 5 GT owner l had a 530D M Sport bought in 2016 at around a year old and sold it late 2020. during my ownership it did everything l asked of it and more and l loved every mile l did in that car it was so practical and the engine just took the miles in its stride. after four and a half years l was faced with the decision of what to replace it with. so went with a late 2019 6GT 640i x drive and was a nice step up and with a rear that was a little less fuggly
Came back to watch this after seeing your comment on another (not as good IMHO), TH-camr’s video today and this popped up due to the suggestions algorithm. Definitely a good way to get into that fabulous BMW 6-cylinder diesel engine wrapped in lots of luxurious space. Oh, it made me chuckle when at the end you stated how you were amazed that you’d almost got to 20k subscribers 🤣🤣🤣 186k subscribers now and it’s not surprising given the quality of your videos 👍
Another great review Matt! I have always liked these but they are a bit of a marmite car with some people I've spoken to, I would say that the M Sport version does add some styling additions to the exterior that give the car a healthy dose of attitude without being over the top Keep up the great work mate, great videos, informative and good to watch too.
I had a 2010 5GT fully loaded 3.0d it was a superb car very quite economical and very quick, plus I carried two bikes plus luggage no problems. It has bigger load space than the 5 Touring. Wish I’d hung on to it!
All those negative comments from people who havent owned one, I've owned a 2011 530 gt for almost three years now, it's brilliant, copes with everything, shopping, holidays sports trips, all without missing a beat! Comfort, power, space and "reasonable" running costs. Don't bother looking for one with comfort suspension, I did, but shouldn't have bothered, normal mode is great, just change to sport if in a hurry.
Hi Matt...I had one of these in 2011..Carbon black with your interior.Have had many BMW's over the years and this is the very best all rounder.Had an F10 M5 after this, good car but preferred the GT as a daily driver.
Watched loads of your videos - keep up the great work! Also chuffed that you've reviewed the 5 GT as I am a biased owner and fan of this model. When I adopted two kids, I thought the 350 CDI C Class estate auto I'd bought would be a good family car, but it turned out to be hopelessly small and as I'm 6'2" I was also crushed against the dashboard to give the kids any leg room in the car seats behind. It had to go! I bought a 530D GT M Sport instead, and I have to say its the best car I've owned. PROS It has loads of room for kids and car seats and adults without anyone being crushed, the boot is a good size (we can get all our stuff for 4 of us for week away in it easy without having to remove the parcel shelf / move the seats). Even the hatch boot comes in handy (once you have crammed everything into the big hatchback opening, you can use the small hatch to cram in a few more bits). 3.0D engine and 8 speed gearbox are a revelation - especially compared to the dreadful 7 speed gearbox in the Merc - it heaps of torque. We go to see family in Yorkshire from our home in London often and it it is excellent at effortless relaxed super cruising on motorways. CONS It's had a few issues - the rear air suspension airbags are a common replacement item as they wear out at about 50k ish and I had to replace both - but everything else has been fine. It is a bit of a tank - its enormous - and it doesn't look amazing from all angles I admit (although it does look great from a fair few and pers). 20" M sport alloys on mine look great, but actually make the ride a bit crashy as it also has M sport suspension. SE model on 19" alloys is I understand the best set up.
Got a 2013 model m sports and yes I'm having issues with air bags. Just changed the compressor as well hopefully mechanic found all the leaks or what not otherwise big bill coming again my way
U have a very laid back demeanour, a bit like monty Don. Love ur car descriptions, great show. I’m fancying a GT, might get one. Keep up the good work.
Down to earth review ' Looks great spec , rich interior , being first of' its also price range ' Probably gone as we speak :), Looks a very versatile all rounder
I’ve driven one of those before, not much to complain about really, spacious and very comfy perfect for long journeys, Great review and I am loving not having to wait weeks now for the next one,
Simo Laazizi I agree! Thanks for watching! I’ve tried to get myself in gear in do more editing so hopefully I’ll upload 2 a week (Wednesday and Sunday). Cheers 😉
Once again a very good interesting used car review, just a small point, maybe a little more info on the car you are driving which always seem good examples of the models in the vlog. regards.
I've watched many videos that you've made , and totally agree with what you say about many vehicles. I totally disagree on this one though! The car is huge, many of them were lease cars that the 4ft wife couldn't drive. I once did an estimate for a very small woman in one that complained the damage was done because her bleeper didn't work. I asked if the parking sensors worked and she agreed they did , I then asked what her bleeper was.....she told me it was her 8yr old daughter and would bleep if she was close to anything. She said obviously it only works after school hours....husband has more money than sense.
Great video, lists a few reasons as to why I bought one. Well on my 2nd now. Chiefly like the GTs for that very reason stated, there's not too many which was a major deciding factor for me. unfortunately current car hasn't been without its gremlins. Rear Air bag/s failure Air compressor failure Intake manifold replaced, broken actuator connection pin from seized swirl flaps. Glow plug relay + the 6 plus replaced Erg failure - leaking glycol + short to ground fault Leaking water pump Headlight failure - shorted Lear TMS. Around £5k to fix all some of which are common faults on these models. Negatives out the way F07 has been a great car regardless. Excellent all round on long runs. decent returns for a 3L. top in its class for leg room in the rear. Pillar less doors are a very smart touch along with the ambient lighting all around the interior with illuminated Sill strips. Staggered set up with 245 fronts and 275 rears helps it grip well although does spin through first few gears if your too quick on the pedal. Choosing the Xdrive option would have been nice on this model. Very quick for a 2.2t car. Would still recommend to anyone and yet to come across anyone who hasn't liked mine that's seen it - the Black on white is very nice, only ever seen 3 other whites since having it. Keeping it for a good while yet.
As a dedicated youtube'r of car channels your my favourite chap........nice and understated, informative and amusing, nothing too try hard i.e wanna be JC,RH or JM!!
I want one of these! The video made me want one, I'm currently struggling with a volvo c30 drive which is a good car but absolute nightmare with the kids and trying to go on a family trip. Next car for definite a 5 series GT 👍🏻
Hi from Finland! I´ve had just the same year model 530D with 4wd for two years and I´m very happy with the car. Already driven about 70000km with it. I´m 195cm or almost 6´4 and I really can fit in the car unlike the stupid X6... Nice footage!
Once again a great review Matt. I've just bought an XF, and have to say you're review swung the balance for me, as this video would have, if I had been looking for one of these! Keep up the excellent videos. Cheers Mike
Another great review.....you either love or hate the design but there is no doubt that it is a good, practical yet fun vehicle....and they are still being made so obviously reasonably successful....I would buy this over an Audi A7 (or is that an A6.... don’t get old.... memory is not what it used to be... liver has also seen better days so that may be a contributing factor to my uncertainty as to which Audi model I am comparing!!) any day...
Definitely fry an egg on the seats! Had one for nearly 3 years now and it’s exactly same spec. Spent £12k on 2010 model, done 60k miles. It has got plenty of power and is great to drive on long journeys cos eats the miles. Good driver’s car and road tax is £245 I find the ride a little bit firm but can take loads of stuff in the boot. Reliability has been great.
Hi there! I'm interested in purchasing a 530xd GT within a couple of years! I've always liked it and I want to pay it by cash because at the moment I have a 320xd G20 and I'm a little bit disappointed! Hence, as soon as the leasing expires, I'll go for the GT! Good to hear it's reliable! I'm 32 years old
It's a great and unique car, and I actually think that its very utilitarian design is handsome. Great for use in the city, where you need to constantly park a car at the valet, because this car allows you to lock up the cargo area (unlike a SUV). I generally would never consider buying a BMW, due to the brand's poor reliability history, but I may make an exception for this very unique car. The price on these cars have fallen enough where I may be willing to take a risk with BMW reliability.
Can't say I can remember seeing one of these, although I am aware of its existence. I reviewed a 2013 F10 530d on my channel earlier this year, which was really nice. That engine is very, very powerful, isn't it! Thanks again for this review, Matt!
Seriously considering buying one for our family.. We want something different, something comfy for long distance travelling as we live downtown and we don't drive in the city at all... We are only worried about maintaining it as we are coming from a Honda Edix...
I bought my 2013 model 6 years ago, still driving it and it runs very well! Have to say the facelift in 2013 certainly improved the look of the derriere. The best feature is definitely the spacious interiour, won't find anything like it within my budget the day I replace it...
Great review, have you got a new camera or just cleaned the lens? I have always loved the GT in either 3 or 5 guise because the seating seems to be just the right height, because the modern suv seems too high for dogging.
Rover did this format 40 years ago with the SD1 😁. I'm a partial BMW fan; I love the (original) M1, all M5s E60 & earlier, the E9, most 6 & 8 cylinder 5 Series. Hate al Xs, GTs.
My memory is that the design was to appeal to the chinese and s e asian tastes as a limo but far cheaper than a 7 series. Also the smaller engines reduce tax costs when assessed by capacity. They didn’t sell well in Aus with dealers stuck with demo stock.
I do 25k a year at the moment so I'll be contemplating the 320D GT soon. However, I'm not sure who the people are that say the iDrive system is poor as the majority of review you (well, I) watch say it's excellent and one of the best.
Hi buddy I loved your review . Today probably I’m going to get one but price gone really up due to Ulez compliant . Low mileage GT is hard to find in london right now still got one less then 100k mileage . Thanks again for review
Nice one Matt great car I would buy one of these cars without a doubt Comfortable Stylish Powerful all round family car . Yes this car is on my bucket list. Kevin from Radcliffe
I've owned a 530 gt although I've had to spend a substantial amount of money on it I absolutely adore this car it always attracts attention going back to the money where do I start well a cracked alloy that was told repairable so I decided on a new set with tyres 1300 pound then engine light issue a remap and couple other things to rectify 500 pound but now have 300 bhp now heres the only down size to these cars and take note of this warning ... air suspension twice in garage because of and second time they had it for a month and they are BMW specialists so add another 900 pound kerching but it's only money and the satisfaction of outpacing newer BMWs at the lights more than makes up for it ....
I think it's cool now but I never see them here in New York. I'm just sad they used this to replace the 5 series wagon. The last 5 wagon we got was the e61
Just watched this review as I have come across a nice used version, it is a bit of a strange vehicle but it certainly does have something about it. Fist time on your channel just subscribed.
Nice car this Matt, but the timing chain is a pig to do and inlet manifold clog up with soot , after 100k you will need a new chain and tensioner set .

It’s a fabulous car, and I must say that I really like the styling...it looks classy, yet sporty and practical too. Another great review. Thanks.
Thanks for the vlog, hopefully I’m picking up a 530 d gt tomorrow a 2010 with 49000 on the clock.
I am subscribed to your channel anyway so keep up the good work 👍
chris stephenson Pleased to hear it! Congrats on your new car
Hey Chris how are you, how is the bmw right now. Do you got any update
Hi yes the BMW is is a great car and I’m glad I bought it
@@chrisstephenson869 nice to hear Chris glad you enjoying the beautiful Bmw, did you got ant problems with it ?
No problems with the car at all, it’s been a joy to own and enjoy
Thanks for asking
Another superb review! And your'e absolutely spot on about the styling. It's taken a few years for me to adjust to it, (because I'm not that keen on estate cars), preferring saloons anyday. However, rear-wheel drive is still the best set-up from an engineering point of view, so I'm seriously looking for this type of car now....particularly as there's a very handy drawer to store my 'crisps!'
Not BMW’s best looking model, the back looks like it’s been rear ended. But it was designed as a autobahn mile muncher and a load carrier and I’d imagine it would do it in comfort.
Bri R You’re right!
Great for doggos and mtbers
I am not fan of BMW but in my opinion this model looks way better than any BMW series I have seen in my life.
@@goranstojanovic339 you got it right! It's probably the best BMW of all
I've just bought a '68 plate 6 series GT, picking it up next week, can't wait. Definitely an upgrade on my A6 Avant.
Only 20k subs when you made this video, keep up the good work 👍
How’s it going?
@@KP56SS just seen this mate. She's a darling, the A6 definitely was nicer to drive but the 3.0litre BMW engine is brilliant. I'll never tire of hearing that noise 👍
I've got the at 330d GT M Sport and its a bit of hidden gem. Comfort and power and sub 6 second 0-60
Andrew Levoir I agree! They often overlooked but they’re great cars
Haha Cheers! Thanks for your comments, I appreciate it :)
Totally agree
The interior looks really good. Clean, modern and spacious. Not sold on the exterior looks tho.
I see these everywhere in China. They're perfectly suited the market over here with loads of leg room and plenty of gadgets. I still hate the look of them but you've sold me on the idea of one as a perfect family car. Off to autotrader now.
Haha You're right :)
Not a car I’ve ever seen reviewed nice one Matt looks better inside then out proper luxury 👍🏻👌
The whole package lust reeks of quality. Well done BMW and great review too.
Eric George I agree! Thanks
@@HighPeakAutos You are very welcome!
Another cracking review of a little known BMW which is so versatile and a great alternative to a SUV and a lot more exclusive , lovely interior and great with the panoramic sunroof. Will be on my list of cars to drive when I next want to change . Wish I lived closer to Matts showroom .
Glad you enjoyed it
I have the 35xd 12 model, I would reccoment, People try out 530d and 535d before choosing one.
Oh, it made me chuckle when at the end you stated how you were amazed that you’d almost got to 20k subscribers 🤣🤣🤣
186k subscribers now and it’s not surprising given the quality of your videos 👍
It would be really nice a review on the 3 series GT. At the moment nis my number 1 choice for next car.
Another great review Matt! I have always liked these but they are a bit of a marmite car with some people I've spoken to, I would say that the M Sport version does add some styling additions to the exterior that give the car a healthy dose of attitude without being over the top
Keep up the great work mate, great videos, informative and good to watch too.
I had a 2010 5GT fully loaded 3.0d it was a superb car very quite economical and very quick, plus I carried two bikes plus luggage no problems. It has bigger load space than the 5 Touring. Wish I’d hung on to it!
That light baby pink top blends in very nicely with the interior....
Yes it does!
Swavesey Institute f.c. That’s right! Underrated cars 😉
I like the previous owner 70-90 comment.Perfect get out clause. Great video as usual.
Haha Cheers!
How come you talk about cars and your seating position is like that? :))
Hi Matt...I had one of these in 2011..Carbon black with your interior.Have had many BMW's over the years and this is the very best all rounder.Had an F10 M5 after this, good car but preferred the GT as a daily driver.
Rented a 3series gt on holiday once and came away impressed. Very comfy, great driving position and loads of room. Like you, have got used to shape.
PROS
It has loads of room for kids and car seats and adults without anyone being crushed, the boot is a good size (we can get all our stuff for 4 of us for week away in it easy without having to remove the parcel shelf / move the seats).
CONS
It's had a few issues - the rear air suspension airbags are a common replacement item as they wear out at about 50k ish and I had to replace both - but everything else has been fine.
Thanks for watching
Down to earth review '
Looks great spec , rich interior , being first of' its also price range '
Probably gone as we speak :),
Looks a very versatile all rounder
Gerry Freeman That’s right. Thanks for watching 😉
I’ve driven one of those before, not much to complain about really, spacious and very comfy perfect for long journeys,
Great review and I am loving not having to wait weeks now for the next one,
Simo Laazizi I agree! Thanks for watching! I’ve tried to get myself in gear in do more editing so hopefully I’ll upload 2 a week (Wednesday and Sunday). Cheers 😉
High Peak Autos sounds great mate, keep up the good work, roll on Wednesday 😁
Cheers! Its the Toyota GT86 on Wednesday if I can get the editing done after work :)
High Peak Autos
Toyota GT-86 such a hot car mate always wanted one, looking forward to seeing your take on it
Once again a very good interesting used car review, just a small point, maybe a little more info on the car you are driving which always seem good examples of the models in the vlog. regards.
Richard Allsop Cheers! I could do, but I don’t want it to look like I’m pushing my own stock - that’s not my intention 😉
I have the exact same car 2010 530d but mine is chipped 305hp and 640nm of torque its a pleasure to drive! Awesome car great review
How reliable it is ? You've some repairs
Great video, lists a few reasons as to why I bought one. Well on my 2nd now. Chiefly like the GTs for that very reason stated, there's not too many which was a major deciding factor for me. unfortunately current car hasn't been without its gremlins.
Rear Air bag/s failure
Air compressor failure
Intake manifold replaced, broken actuator connection pin from seized swirl flaps.
Glow plug relay + the 6 plus replaced
Erg failure - leaking glycol + short to ground fault
Leaking water pump
Headlight failure - shorted Lear TMS.
Thanks! I appreciate your support :)
I want one of these! The video made me want one, I'm currently struggling with a volvo c30 drive which is a good car but absolute nightmare with the kids and trying to go on a family trip. Next car for definite a 5 series GT 👍🏻
Great vid, never knew that the fugly GT could be so practical
I’d buy one
Keep them coming mate 👍
I agree! Cheers :)
Time you had kids mate... (if not already) coz liking this motor means your ready for them! Great vid again... keep them coming
Hi from Finland! I´ve had just the same year model 530D with 4wd for two years and I´m very happy with the car. Already driven about 70000km with it. I´m 195cm or almost 6´4 and I really can fit in the car unlike the stupid X6... Nice footage!
Lovely review and definitely a good motor but what you really need to review is a Lexus LS460 2007 - 11
I’ve just bought a gt today.. a 2014 2.0D I love it 👌🏼
Once again a great review Matt. I've just bought an XF, and have to say you're review swung the balance for me, as this video would have, if I had been looking for one of these!
Keep up the excellent videos.
Cheers
Mike
Mike Waldt Pleased to hear it! Which model did you go for?
@@HighPeakAutos 2009 3.0 V6 Diesel Premium Luxury only 63K 2 owners and FSH ... well pleased 🙂
I looked at it closely but the rear end looked too big and bulky. The 3L diesel is the best one made - smooth and very powerful.
I agree, the engine is superb
Definitely fry an egg on the seats! Had one for nearly 3 years now and it’s exactly same spec. Spent £12k on 2010 model, done 60k miles. It has got plenty of power and is great to drive on long journeys cos eats the miles. Good driver’s car and road tax is £245
I find the ride a little bit firm but can take loads of stuff in the boot.
I'm 32 years old
Just lease a new 530.
To be honest I thought they were a bit wtf at the time, but after your review they're definitely up in my estimation, if you buy carefully
Chris R I agree!
Those ZF gearboxes are amazing!
Can't say I can remember seeing one of these, although I am aware of its existence. I reviewed a 2013 F10 530d on my channel earlier this year, which was really nice. That engine is very, very powerful, isn't it! Thanks again for this review, Matt!
You're right, the 3.0d is a gem (for a diesel anyway)
@@HighPeakAutos, ah yes, we can't talk about diesels on my channel, so we will have to leave it there, I suppose...
When I saw this car long ago I did not believe it's a BMW, it was that rare and still is. I always liked it though.
Vedad I agree, it’s not a common sight
I love how spacious it is inside!
Me too. The interior is lovely. Very light
What a lovely car, seriously considering one, the quality of the interior is unmatched in any car under 20k imo
Quality driving and an excellent video. Great.
Thanks! Ten and Two :)
I have always thought of them as fugly but you have won me round with this review. The 6 cylinder diesel and that interior is very impressive.
Mathew Davies I agree! I wasn’t sure about it either but they’ve grown on me over the years and this interior is lovely
First rule of buying any BMW? Lose the sports suspension!
No, change to standard tyres
That's a nice colour combination, I've always driven 530ds, and love them, I think that GT would grow on me too but only because it's a 530 😁
Kieran Jdoherty The space grey colour is very nice 👍🏻
Great review, have you got a new camera or just cleaned the lens? I have always loved the GT in either 3 or 5 guise because the seating seems to be just the right height, because the modern suv seems too high for dogging.
King One Eye'd Cheers! Same camera... was it a better picture? I like the GT’s too
@@HighPeakAutos The internal shots of you driving seemed far sharper than normal.
King One Eye'd That’s interesting, maybe I’ve messed with the settings by accident 😂
King One Eye'd - re dogging...can you get side steps for it?
@@1ridgy Certainly, just make sure you purchase the dwarf pack. BMW think of everything.
Rover did this format 40 years ago with the SD1 😁.
I'm a partial BMW fan; I love the (original) M1, all M5s E60 & earlier, the E9, most 6 & 8 cylinder 5 Series.
Hate al Xs, GTs.
I'm a BMW fan myself too
Lovely Jubbly, interior looks mint.
The interior is mint
My memory is that the design was to appeal to the chinese and s e asian tastes as a limo but far cheaper than a 7 series. Also the smaller engines reduce tax costs when assessed by capacity. They didn’t sell well in Aus with dealers stuck with demo stock.
Yeah I think you're right :)
Brilliant channel love the variety of cars you review and your style of review 🖐️
Cheers!
I’ve never understood why do people think it’s ugly. Generally not a fan of BMW exteriors, but that rear is hot af
I do 25k a year at the moment so I'll be contemplating the 320D GT soon. However, I'm not sure who the people are that say the iDrive system is poor as the majority of review you (well, I) watch say it's excellent and one of the best.
I have one. Love it! You won't regret the 320d GT.
Brilliant review and thanks again...
Still waiting for the vw touareg review 😎
Hi buddy I loved your review . Today probably I’m going to get one but price gone really up due to Ulez compliant . Low mileage GT is hard to find in london right now still got one less then 100k mileage . Thanks again for review
Great vid, making me want one now. Also your hair game is very on point today!!
Haha thanks! Thanks for watching :)
I couldn't live with the looks but I do like the X6. My favourite Beemer would be the 6 Series Grand Coupe. Great videos as always
The 6 series GC is a great looking car isn't it. I've got a 640i Convertible which is excellent
Excellent review
Thanks for watching :)
Great review as usual
Thanks!
I think it's cool now but I never see them here in New York. I'm just sad they used this to replace the 5 series wagon. The last 5 wagon we got was the e61
Oh really? You cant buy a 5 series estate in the US?
Just watched this review as I have come across a nice used version, it is a bit of a strange vehicle but it certainly does have something about it. Fist time on your channel just subscribed.
Nice car this Matt, but the timing chain is a pig to do and inlet manifold clog up with soot , after 100k you will need a new chain and tensioner set .
