I have a 530d GT. Great car, lots of space for the kids in the rear, sublime to drive.

X6 is not better. I love the 550i Gran Turismo.
Should've been called the 7 series GT in my opinion. It's nearer to the 7 series than to the 5 series in nearly everything.
In essence it is a 7 series it shares the same platform!
So that rangie is basically a car to get you drunk and then shoot things.......

I'm sure that BM is a nice driver, but it looks like an X5 that was reversed at speed into a very very low bridge. Yuk!
my dad owns a gt..and he loves it (although he dislikes the smallish boot) its a charm to drive on the autobahn!!! and there are quite a few good features tucked in as well

but Tiff drives better than the stig :)
Best in this test is vicki. Since she lost some weight, she looks even better. Still best speaking, nice, sexy voice, beautiful face, funny and great driver. Love you!!!
This Range Rover is more of a acquired taste, the normal Range Rover is already one of the most luxurious cars in the world it, doesn't appeal to me THAT MUCH to be honest compared to the normal Range Rover, with all that wood, I never understood why people think wood is something good in a car. I'm more of an archer than a gun person too.

I should think that, as a guest at such a "first cabin" event, Fifth Gear's representative could manage to find a proper jacket so that he didn't stand out like some American Yahoo peasant. Uh-oh, he just admitted, on camera, to being a peasant! Why draw so much attention to the fact!! Jeez. But BTW, the young lady on your site-I think "Vicky" is her name (she DOES look like a Victoria, after all!) is a bit of all right. Is she sporting a new diamond on her ring finger? Oh, well......
here'y why this car is a fail:
-if youre an executive and you can afford a car that requires a driver, you wont get this
-executives cant be arsed about practicality and they dont carpool, so you dont need all that space
-if you have a family, you wont ferry your kids arround in such an expencive car because kids are pro at disintegrating cars
-you wont buy one because it drives well...because there are cheaper, better handling bmw's
@xdragosx he sdaid one of the best not the best, if you put it behind merc audi or BMW then it why would it not still be one of the best< is being one of the best only for 1st 2nd and 3rd? i have a 10 year old 7 series E38 740 and the interior in it is way better than my wifes 2008 bmw 530D BMW both with leather quality and with the plastics quality
£900 for a simple HUD display?? That comes standard in a Nissan Micra! And...I don't like the look of it at all. The front seems like a mess between the ugly 7-series and the almost-as-equally-ugly 5-series. By far the best looking "modern" BMW is the current 3-series.
i love BMW but recently new cars that come out look bad...this one is a man bear pig ... wtf !

Very odd that this one is so pixel its like it as filmed on a very bad web cam. This quality is usually better. The vid quality ruins this so can fully enjoy the cars shown.

Booze and firearms, a wonderful combination. I noticed the cages built at the shooting stations to keep the idiot rich from shooting each other. Never have seen anything like that in the states.

Speaking of the Range Rover - It is amazing just how much money the rich spend on useless stuff! It is really all about the hype.

Well I have this car and the ride is nowhere near of a 7 series that I had before. Mine has exact same 20" alloys like in a video with a runflats. My wifes 1 series with normal tyres has a smoother ride.
zydrute1 You gave big wheels and runflat tyres. Nothing not to be expected. Go for small wheels and normal tyres and the ride will be excellent.
five clutches and no torque converter maybe, thus not really an enormous case down below...maybe

BMW is trying to be more practical here (with the family in mind, a rich family that is).
@AlexanderLindell She said fastest ACCELERATING VW. The Phaeton, even with the W12 engine, accelerates significantly slower than the Golf R due to the high weight. And the VW Golf W12 isn't a production car.

I saw this BMW 5-Series Gran Turismo in person and it FUGLY. The car look really awkard and weird.
And FYI Toyota /Lexus was the first auto company to make 8-Speed Transmission with their Lexus LS460/hl600 model.

Since you're an Aussie mate, I think depends. There is also a 6-speed manual for the 535i and 550i F10 5er. Not sure if it's also available in the GT mate...
Sry, I'd rather take the A5 Sportback...no offence BMW, awesome cars, but this just doesn't look good enough for that price!
this is a cheap version of the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo, we have a nicer more expensive version of it and its SOOOOO good!!!

yeah it does, i have a 2009 RR v8, and the quality of the interior is really unparrelled in it's class..
the BMW wil sell in Sao Paulo (Brazil) but the bullet proff version :) and in the Range Rover is the guy braking or the back lights are way to strong ? :))

@830sxz It's for the people whose needs are not a black/white issue. If you just want a more spacious passenger cabin in the rear and don't necessarily want to have to get a 7 to facilitate that. You don't need the utility of a wagon or truck, but the folding seats are a plus. After driving and riding around in one over a week long vacation, I actually get it and like it. It's a luxury minivan for people who don't/won't have kids.
"Brake Energy Regeneration" - AKA Fuel cut-off, my 1999 Rover has that, as do many other even older vehicles. Not new BMW, nice try!
@taknachwile that's what I thought until I had one for a week, in white, with the options boxes all ticked, and uau! it's a really nice car, yes from the back it is not particularly beautiful, but I had seen uglyer cars than that. The front looks just nice.
And this is one of the very cars that proof that you've to see it in the flesh in order to say anything about it. pictures just doesn't do this justice.

why can't they just make a 5 door so you don't look like a muppet having to get out so that your friends can push the seat forward and go in the back.

He may look the part and certainly posses the necessary vocabulary, but I don't think he'd come out of retirement just for the Land Rover no matter how luxurious it is. Besides, this new fellow deserves a chance.

It's actually good. You'll get more smooth acceleration and when you're cruising, the auto will change to the 7th or 8th gear so that you'll get the most fuel efficiency :) BMW knows what to do but I have to say I don't really like the design but it's practicality, WHOW!!
