I have to also agree 👍 Henry and Chris Harris are my favourite car testers/ journalists!! Something tells me that he will be lucky 🍀 enough to own one in the future.. 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧
All these car bloggers buying GT3s like Shmee make a video or two and then they forget about it. Because it’s about blogging shit, boasting about doing miles in their expensive cars and pressing the upshift paddle. This one video from carfection had so much love and passion for cars and this one in particular!
Sandouras you obviously don't watch those channel's regularly shmee puts more miles on his car then anyone else. You don't MRJWWs channel either you basicly don't know what you are talking about. They own and keep there cars journalists go for one drive and its on to the next
The way you feel about the GT3, I feel the same for my Boxster...just not to the extreme of the GT3. The GT3 is on a league of its own. My Boxster’s handling, steering feel, and sound of the naturally aspirated flat six give me goosebumps on twisty backroads. All car guys need to own a Porsche once in their lives, and it didn’t have to be a GT3!
Couldn't agree more. Just take the roof off and go up the mountains or some twisty roads out in the countryside, switch the radio off and enjoy the soundtrack of the howling flat-six. And whenever I see his videos I get the temptation just to go out and drive it no matter the time, weather or whatever.
I own a bmw 530i and a Mercedes Benz E320, and Porsche Cayman, ALL CAR GUYS SHOULD OWN A PORSCHE. Driving the Porsche is the greatest car driving experience of them all!
I just purchased this exact car. It now resides in New Zealand. Its now done 40,000km (prior owner in nz used it as a daily, open road driving). Its my first gt3, but let’s just say I’m a happy camper.
Henry you and Chris Harris are my favourite car testers / journalists, your words and terminology explains exactly with a passion how a car feels to you and creates a picture on how it should feel to me if I was ever to find a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow 🌈. Take it easy Rockstar👌👌😎😎🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Its a treat watching Henry review any car.. And him reviewing a GT3 is quite simply one of the primary reasons I follow Carfection! Thanks for this one guys.. Superb stuff.
I owned a 1st gen Boxster S - and before I never understood the “goosebumps inducing” flat 6 sound - Porsche fans are talking about. Well - after I owned it I know - and I want it back in my life. And the best and probably most extreme variation is the 911 GT3. The video is just stunning. Better than anything what huge budgets are producing these days. Kudos to Carfection and Henry - to pull this off. The only problem is, that youtube is just giving the option to simply thumb up this video. I want to thumb it up 10 times.
I must say Mr. Catchpole, you have become my favorite automotive journalist. This video and the one with the McLaren ( at this moment I don’t recall the model) in Scotland ( again unsure, sorry) are two of my favorite videos of all time. What you do different, is that when I watch your videos I really get the emotion, the feeling that I have experienced it too. The McLaren video I felt was the most artistic videos I have ever seen. Bravo, well done, good on you and thank you
Just watched this again - superb review and very accurate. I’ve put over 10,000 km on one... however the sport button is for rev matching etc - the sport suspension button is on the red side of the gear lever
I gotta be honest here- This Brit is very articulate without being too posh in his explanation, I like how Henry is very involved and emerged into the drivi g experience, I’m American. And frankly will admit The Brit’s do the best motoring reviews. Thanks Henry. Keep up the great work from USA!
Henry your passion for this car really comes through and it’s so much more appreciated than those You Tubers who buy a stable of super cars just to show them off for a bit then sell them. Hope you can one day buy your GT3 because of any reviewer, you deserve one!
Waking up to a Henry Catchpole video on a GT3 whilst on holiday has happened twice this year. Nothing better to start the day or anytime. Couldn’t agree more with the sentiments and one day in the next couple of years hopefully that car will be mine. Thank you Carfection, top work as always
FENTONY 31 the GT3 Touring is brilliant ... choose lightest weight spec PCCB’s and LWB’s add lithium battery (minus 35 lbs) and side muffler delete (minus 35 lbs) and best modern pure drivers road car !!!!
My PDK 991.2 daily driver is a blast on snowy roads at -25C (you read it right, with Sottozero’s obviously). It’s also spot on at the track at +28C with the Cup 2’s. It all about the feel, and there is a ton in the GT3, full stop. PS Have faith everyone, my first car was an AMC Pacer 38 years ago!!.
I have just come back from doing 1000 miles around Scotland in the same manual GT3 ...all types of tarmac road conditions.. the one thing that stands out by far the most is the SUSPENSION .. astonishing.. it tapped out around twice ! Fantastic alrounder!
Dear Henry and the Carfection Team, The GT3 has been my dream car as long as I can remember. I am one of the lucky ones, I picked up my manual 991.2 GT3 a few weeks ago. You have summed it up perfectly, its all Glorious and now its my daily driver. So good, possibly one of the last analogue giants. Thanks for a fantastic review, Ive watched it so many times. Keep up the good work. Engine sound is 10 times better IRL but for me the stand out is the handling with the 4 wheel steer. :)
Congratulations, brother! Can’t imagine what a feeling it would be to buy the dream super car! Maybe one day hopefully I can buy or at least drive one, although I’m pretty uncertain about it. If you were to give me one tip on how to afford one, what’d it be? :)
Well, I've always known your smiles weren't as genuine as they could be. But the last 20 seconds of that film are as genuine and as passionate as they get. That drive was why you do that job.
Mr Catchpole! Between this and Manuals Matter two of the best car articles on You Tube in a long time. Hats off to the improvements you have made to your video journalism in recent years and above all else for keeping it authentic and passionate. Cheers
Many thanks for this brilliant review Henry ! As a blessed owner of both the GT4 and the GT3 manual I find your comments and assessments spot-on, and would add, that there are minimal differences between the 2 gear boxes. Where the GT4 gearbox is extremely "classical" (that is: no helpers from the control units, except auto blip when in Sport), the GT3 gearbox is gently supported by a few "hidden feet", which allow you to stay on the gas while shifting. Upwards and downwards, that is. The car will give the gas pedal a subtle nudge, so you will land in the right rev range, when the next lower or higher gear is engaged. If you start understanding, appreciating and using this (slightly counterintuitive) capability, you are finally lost to the car, and can't stop driving it.
I've been watching you from time to time since last year but now, after this vid i'm confident in saying that you've become the best car channel on youtube. Ideal combination of in-depth specs and review of a car as a tool to make man happy. All this with great photos in beautiful landscapes, good sound and montage quality. Chapeau bas.
Henry is such an incredible reviewer. Nobody can communicate feelings and how it is to actually drive a car better than him. After this video, I felt like I had driven it and now I desperately want one too!
Great video Henry - What do you think of the fixed carbon bucket seats? They look fantastic and i'm sure they hold you well and are lightweight, but I heard many owners preferring the heavier but more comfortable reclining seats. In your opinion, are the buckets pretty uncomfortable after a long drive?
+Needs Decaf Interesting. I guess future buyers would have to try sitting in them first to make a better opinion, as it all depends on one's bodytype as you say.
I purchase my 2019 gt3 this week and this video just made me so much more excited:-) this guy has the best car reviews I think on the internet. Live his filming and you can tell he spends a lot of time and puts a lot of energy into his content. Bravo!
I hope you guys can figure out something to save Carfection! Your production values are so high and the quality is always top shelf and so enjoyable to watch! Also, any chance this video is available in a higher resolution/4K?
What a bloody fantastic editorial. Henry does a wonderful job of putting you in the car. I second every word of your love for the manual gearbox. I think I'm going to give up driving if one cannot be found anywhere and I suspect over time this naturally aspirated manual GT3 will become a collectors item of its own (in manual form) over time. Congratulations on a great write up
I think you are the best Porsche car reviewer out there. Funny enough TH-cam gave me 2min long ad of Porsche 919 evo lap record promo video before this video played, I really wish Henry you were in that video and would have made it sound so much more interesting.
I was greatly blessed to be given the chance to have a long drive in it, except its a PDK on steel brakes. I realised just a few kilometres in, the connection with the car is beyond any other car, not even the other wonderful cars I had driven. This GT3 syncs with your intentions, and executes the movements with fluidity and finesse that always leaves me admiring! Nirvana!
The best and most involving review Henry! I absolutely love the way you communicate the sensations of driving the GT3 in a way which is, for no better word, involving! Truly magnificent!
Thank you, for you positive , none bias regarding the GT3 & GT3RS. It was good to see you never pulled down either car, but expanded on both cars. Amazing Video... Henry, 👌🏻as always! And speaking of OCD. The fact that the couch was in the exact center of the screen and had equal gaps on the side, pleased my OCD! Perfection in everything.
Great review. Is there any way you guys could upload the driving clips with no commentary? As a separate series perhaps? A lot of us like seeing the car drive and hearing the noises it produces.
phenomenal video as always!! when not driving this vehicle i sit here watching videos about it. it really is that good. am thankful on a daily basis to own one.
I want one! My first real Porsche experience was a drive in a clients 2014 911 turbo S.. a phenomenal car. So comfortable and sedate just cruising around.. but get on a B road and woah! The client tossed me the keys and said I could have a shot but as a total fanny I declined in case I curbed a wheel or did something stupid that would probably bankrupt me... I regret not driving it, but that one drive got me hooked on Porsche’s. One day I’ll own one! One day... Great content gents 👍🏻
A brilliant piece of art this is. The way it captures the joy and excitement of driving is, well, almost touching. It reveals very candidly the childlike awe that takes hold of some of us when we see, hear and feel some powerful metal beast of beauty raise its raucous voice. My utmost respect, Mr. Catchpole!
Great video as ever Henry, and some of your final comments saved me from going to the Porsche configurator to see if the wing was a delete option. Where is my lottery ticket?
Awesome review. You are one of the best reviewers, you have a perfect mix of enthusiasm, skill, choice of words... You almost allow me to feel I am in the car with you, I certainly want to be. Must steal this car, obviously. ;) Keep up the good work.
Love watching your reviews Henry! Did you manage to get the GT3? I loved your comment regarding adding rear seats. I would absolutely do this. The new 992 GT3 you can remove the rear wing and re-add for track days. That way you don’t have the open tin can rear wing of the touring.
Wow.. great video... The engine note is beautiful.... Mr Henry is just loving to rev up through each of the available gears .... And who wouldn't !! After all it's a GT3 with a MANUAL !!! I wish I could lay my eyes on one in real life.....
Just a note. The pdk has a sequential manual mode in the stick ala rally car, if you feel bored or uninvolved just use it instead of the paddles, it's quite a LOT of fun.
Pretty much sums up my own feelings about this car. Beyond the quite frankly amazing experience of hitting that 9,000rpm redline, the level of engagement and feedback you get from driving the GT3 is unlike anything else I've driven. Well done Henry for conveying just how special this car truly is. 👍 Well done Carfection for producing another slick-looking video. 😎
I've lusted after the 911 for 50 years. I'm getting ready to get a Touring as soon as I can. One thing I find a bit bothersome is not having a spare tire. I guess that adds to the excitement. Thanks for the review.
Hi Henry, I have an allocation for a 718 Spyder, but have also been drawn to the engine of the 911 GT3 - particularly the GT3 Touring model. Given your experience with both vehicles, if you could have only one as a non daily, which one and why for you? Thank you!
If anybody ever deserved a GT3 its this man right here.

The main thing I want to get out of a car review is: how does it feel to drive?
That's why I give this video 10/10.
Well done!

Bit harsh on JWW, rest of them barring a few. Couldn’t agree more.
That sound... That sound of atmospheric flat 6 breathing and screaming at 9000rpm... It is something to die for

Well done Carfection for producing another slick-looking video. 😎
I've lusted after the 911 for 50 years. I'm getting ready to get a Touring as soon as I can. One thing I find a bit bothersome is not having a spare tire. I guess that adds to the excitement. Thanks for the review.
Amazing car and such an informative video. Btw. Which road is that. I need to go there
the best reviewer of cars, another film I could watch over and over again.
Bliss. have been waiting for this, saw it was up waited for a time when I wouldn't be interrupted and wasn't disappointed.
Hi Henry, I have an allocation for a 718 Spyder, but have also been drawn to the engine of the 911 GT3 - particularly the GT3 Touring model. Given your experience with both vehicles, if you could have only one as a non daily, which one and why for you? Thank you!
