    Slight clarification: RH turn patterns occur at airports when LH turn patterns are unsafe for any reason. It could be a shopping mall, race track, elevated terrain, towers, military instillations, etc., are located in the LH turn pattern. Great video, thanks.

    Hey Mr. Mig's. Thanks for the content. Got my part 107 today and found your videos helpful. One thing I would maybe mention is I had 3 to 5 questions about airplanes that I had no idea how to answer. Haven't seen anyone on youtube talk about the things I was asked about. Thanks again for the great content! I paid for a course that was less useful than your videos.

      @@MrMigsClassroom I had one about the rudder and the yaw which I knew. But then there was one about moving the CG to the aft of the plane and there was another one right after that also about the aft of a plane but I can’t remember what the question was. Then there was one about planes turning. They felt like odd questions to me. I can look up the answer key if you want to know exactly what they were

    I kept getting the traffic pattern practice questions wrong so I went looking for a good explanation that would make it “stick” for me, and THIS did it. It was the combo of drawing out the aircraft turn direction and making it clear that these questions are talking about aircraft calling in prior to landing. I think that’s assumed, but for newbies, that isn’t clear

      Clay, I am glad my video helped! The runway questions seem to be among the hardest questions for my students at first. But once you understand that the runway numbers are simply compass directions, left means a left turn, and downwind is the opposite of the runway then these questions become easy. If you have any questions please ask. And if there are any specific videos you want to see let me know and I’ll make them.

    Great video Mr. Mig. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to do this. I would just like to confirm 1 thing. Question 1 of the video: let's hypnotically say the aircraft was right, downwind, runway 16 instead of left. The answer would remain exactly the same, correct (340 degrees)? Is it safe to say that the direction the aircraft is turning into (left or right) is technically irrelevant to deriving the answer to the question?

    So downwind is always where there airplane would turn left?

    • @MrMigsClassroom
      @MrMigsClassroom  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not exactly. Airplanes do usually turn left when circling the runway but that is not always the case. Think of “downwind” as a section of the landing pattern. The plane will enter the downwind leg at a 45 degree angle. Then when the plane is at the end of the downwind section it will turn left. At that point the plane will be on the base leg. Then it will take another left turn and be over the runway and ready to land.
