    A few days ago, I passed the 107 with a 100%, largely in part to your videos and other content creator's work as well. I am here to tell you it can be done using self-study without spending a bunch of money on paid classes.

    It was helpful for me to learn that the odd abbreviations aren't just nonsense, they come from the French words for each phenomenon. They are: shallow(MI)-Mince, patches(BC)-Bancs, hail(GR)-Grêle, mist(BR)-Brume, small hail/snow pellets(GS)-Grésil, and smoke(FU)-Fumée.

    I lke the one world time zone. Perception of time is an illusion-Albert Einstein. One reminder that helps me is I love running so I am a magnetic runner (runways magnetic). Weather is always true. I just found you today-the exam is next week.

    The "if you read it, it's true" threw me off at first because the first thing that came to mind is runway numbers. You read those, and they are magnetic. But in the real world, those are discussed over radio primarily, so that can be made to fit.

  • @haileyboland8345
    @haileyboland8345 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would love a one world time zone. I thought it made perfect sense when I was reading it myself. It would remove a lot of nonsense issues trying to figure out times in other areas. Basically you would have day and night. I think it would be great.

    Thanks for this! Question:
    Are the FM lines in ascending or descending chronological order with each additional line? At 27 min in the video, at KMEM we have second line FM122200 (12th day, 2200 hours) and on the third line FM120200 (12th day, 0200 hours), and then the 5th list has 131600 (13th day, 1600 hours). If, in read time, 0200 is before 2200, why is 120200 listed after 122200 but before 131600?

  • @kalelinslo235
    @kalelinslo235 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    at 27:19 you say the answer is C. 2000Z.....but the 3rd line down shows 1202/1205 2SM. Why isn't the answer 0200 Zulu? Thanks!

    • @Mach26
      @Mach26 ปีที่แล้ว

      thought the same thing but the only thing I could think of was that the report is being taken at 1720 on the 12th so we would have maybe cleared that weather with the current observation, noting that it was only a 40% probability. hope that makes sense and hope someone else could chime in to clarify.

    • @rachelknapstein4749
      @rachelknapstein4749 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I thought the same thing. and if the TAF is a forecast, why is it reporting past weather? 1202 (12th day 0200 hours) and the report is issued 121720 (12th day 1720 hours).

    At 10:44 you ask if we can fly a drone that day and you say no because its less than 3sm but I thought the 3sm rule was only for night flying?

    • @MrMigsClassroom
      @MrMigsClassroom  ปีที่แล้ว

      Even during the day, you must have three statute miles of visibility. This means you have to be able to see for 3 miles. You do not have to be able to see the drone from 3 miles away but you have to be able to see 3 miles away.

    Thanks for all the content. One suggestion could you suspend your microphone or use a lavalier? The thumping is distracting. One more thing for the METAR you said "we don't know what month" when in fact we know it is always "this" month. Thanks again.

    • @MrMigsClassroom
      @MrMigsClassroom  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you are correct it is always this month. I suppose I said that because students have asked me how would you know what month it is if you were looking at historical reports from months or years ago. The answer is you wouldn’t know.

    • @theweddingdepartment
      @theweddingdepartment ปีที่แล้ว

      That makes sense. And thanks for updated info. Some other videos are giving outdated and incorrect info for example night operation.
      I am going this Friday morning and I have most every thing down but the TAF's are still giving me trouble. METARS no sweat.
      Just separating the time and dates inside the TAF is a sticking point.
      Oh and thanks for reading your comments.
