Off topic, but what brand and part did you do with for your Cargo floor mat, I can’t seem to find one that says it will work for the 2023 Sportage Hybrid.

Could you wire to the hybrid battery in the back to save running wire all the way to the front?
You could but you'd have to first access it to see if there are usable terminals. Plus there is about a 99% chance it operates at a much higher voltage. Inverters for that voltage may not be available.
@@RivermanTV- Thanks, I had uhaul install my kit and when i got home couldnt find the wire, it was running from the hybrid battery in the back and not mounted on the underside so I will have to have it hang out the back
Did you disconnect the battery before splicing in your connections and before attaching the power lead to the battery? If so, how did yo do that since there is no "normal" negative battery terminal? Thanks
I did not. Just had the car off while I was working. It's not actually a battery that the lead is connected to; it's a fuse box.

Is there any reason not to hook the power wire up to one of the spare accessory fuse spots in the box instead of a fuse holder hanging out? What about tapping into the 12V power socket that is in the cargo area if you have it and avoid running the circuit all the way to the front? That is already on a 15A fuse. I'm just thinking there has to be a cleaner installation than what the harness manufacturer wants us to do.

@@RivermanTV- With some digging around, I noticed a 50A fuse under the hood marked "trailer". Turns out the SXP HEV model has a factory plug for an OEM harness behind the left interior panel in the cargo area. I don't think it applies to the US EX or LX models. DWF67-AC000 is the part number I found and I have one ordered. That said, there is also access to the 12V power supply behind that same panel. It's already on a 15A fuse inside the vehicle. I see no reason why that wouldn't work also as a power source. Though I can't be sure when I don't know the power draw of the aftermarket kit. What size fuse do they include in the kit?
It is always necessary to have a fuse in the 12v power line. Without knowing what that wire powers, it may be safer to install a separate powered wire for safety and peace of mind when troubleshooting. Also some empty fuselocations in the fuse box do not have a proper connection in them. If you look you may see only 1 metal prong. Not 2. Because that option isn't installed. Hope this helps.
