Great job and taking the video at the same time brother. The jack idea in placing the hitch while slowly putting it in place was awesome. You made the process look very simple and just by yourself. That's what I call a DIY installation. I just received my hitch for our KIA Sportage from Autozone via FedEx delivery. I'll be doing the same process as you did with the jack but with my Kayak straps which I think might be more stronger and sturdier. This is going to be for my bike rack and Kayak trailer for my 13' footer I called it ROBOYAK since I've added a motor and a steering design for the rudder. Thanks again for the video and God bless.
Thank you so much! Other video I saw didn't mention the plastic protectors. BTW, I used WD40 to get the exhaust free from the rubber. Was wishing for the tool they make for that job.
Thanks ! I actually wasn't going to buy a Sportage because it didn't have a hitch .... but knowing it can be installed, great ! What's the capacity of this setup (Lbs) ?
I used that hitch to haul a small 19foot boat and trailer. When you purchase the hitch be sure to read the instructions so that you know exactly how much weight the hitch can handle.

THANK YOU, FOR THIS VERY HELPFUL DEMO/INSTALL VIDEO!!! MUCH APPRECIATED!!! [IMHO: YOU SHOULD ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GLASSES, WHENEVER WORKING..]

Good job!
You brought up a couple good points not covered by the other video I saw. Especially, lifting the hitch into place.

Did you reinstall the plastic inner guard things on the left and right?
Yup, I was able to get all parts back into place.
Glad you cleaned those rusty bolt holes. XD
How much weight have you put on the tongue and on the trailer?
I see your motorcycle. Has this setup been adequate for hauling that?
Thank you.

And about the wiring?
Are the KIA frame bolt holes threaded?
If yes, what keeps the bolts from vibrating loose?
I unfortunately can’t remember but I think they might be.
