    This is the only one that actually show you each step wiring the box. Thank you so much as I’ve been trying this box the last 3 days.

    I've watched dozens of these wiring videos and you actually made it very clear. Thank you!!!

    Great video! That junction box is very clean. This looks like a good option for me and my camper rebuild. Appreciate the help!

    Many years ago I had an old car trailer that I rewired with all new lights and brakes. I wanted to create a setup like this junction box as there were no commercially manufactured units. I have a great dislike of Scotch locks that everyone recommended to use. I ended up running extra wires from the 7 pin plug. The junction box makes troubleshooting much easier in the future.

    Thank you for the video and the diagram you've put together here!! Just used it last night to wire up my trailer and even got the reverse lights to operate. Thank you again!!

    Nice job and good explanation. I bought slightly used 16 foot double axle cargo trailer with brakes and was amazed to see the factory wiring used 3M ScotchLok connectors for the wire splices between the trailer lights and multi pin connecting cable. There was no junction box- just the connectors wrapped with many layers of electrical tape and well hidden between the crossmembers below the cargo box. Anything to save $8 during the manufacture! Two suggestions- 1) I mounted my junction box in a protected area like the inside edge of the trailer tongue under the overhang of the cargo box and 2) I don’t think most natural color zip ties have UV protection and will get brittle quickly out in the elements, the black ones I used had it and matched the flex conduit as a bonus.

      Yes good point on Zip ties! I will take that and explain it next time, Thanks!

    I have NEVER had a trailer that provided a good chassis ground. During trouble-shooting of trailer light issues I have found that the problem is usually caused by a bad ground. It is so easy to run a wire from the white wire on the harness to each light. This will give each light fixture a good ground and give you MUCH more reliable trailer lights.

      Would you just run 7 core from the Junction on either side of the trailer?

    Great video. Can you add accessories to the hot side of the junction box like led work
    Lights? Thanks

    • @channelron3593
      @channelron3593  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes you can, the black wire if hot all the time when connected to the vehicle this is for charging the battery for your brakes, if you have brakes.

    Great video. Thanks. Now I need would like to see how to add to that the battery, battery charger for electric brakes/breakaway devise, and backup lights/backup bell.

    Put the box on the inside of the hitch so it's harder to break. On the outside they get bumpers jacked knifed into them, stood on etc! Ask me how I know! LOL! Y spades can come loose and fall off the stud! That is why they used ring spades. Thanks for the info!

      I agree. Rewiring mine and put the box inside the frame. I would be afraid of those low hanging wires also.

    Thanks for the video! I have a couple questions. 1) I noticed you matched the wiring of the trailer to make it right with the junction box; does the junction box match the 7 pin on your tow vehicle?

    Where does the yellow wire from trailer cord get hooked to in junction box on trailer

  • @juanmoreno5187
    @juanmoreno5187 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    And do you think I can use the ground coming from the back for the trailer breaks or do I have to ground it on the trailer.??

    • @channelron3593
      @channelron3593  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I grounded my brakes on the frame because that is the way it came but If if I rewire it I will come all the way back to the box.

    @juanmoreno5187 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I just got mine today I got a question what’s the black wire for if my trailer doesn’t have a black wire or is it for the trailer breaks

    • @channelron3593
      @channelron3593  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya not all trailers have breaks, but your box will be ready if you ever put them on.

    I didn’t see how you connected the electric brake wires. So i know the blue to to the brake wire but the brake has 2 wires. Which one from the junction box that connects to the other wire. Please help.

    I Don't understand what the advantage is over just having a plug.

    • @channelron3593
      @channelron3593  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      well one this is that it will be a bit easy to fix if the plug that I put on gets broke and the other is that this is much more universal. but they all work its what ever works best for the customer.

    What I don't understand is of all the TH-cam videos, everybodys colors are changed around, and nothing is standard. Even the junction boxes have a differerent array of colors lined up. Nothing is standard. Not even the Pollluk plugs that have the preprinted colors coded on the plug. Ignore the colors Polluk is asking you to put where. Your best situation is just take in the freekin trailer and let somebody else pull their hair out..

    • @channelron3593
      @channelron3593  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well I always follow what the directions say, the colors have to be the same so all trailer or interchangeable but I now what you are saying, can get frustrating.

    Your placement of the light cord junction box is susceptible to damage on the outside of the rail . 5/21/23
