This is already a school called the "The Society of the Spectacle" by Guy Debord. As he is saying you need to gather skills before everything around those motivational speeches. Nope!there is no easy way.easy and fast ways are red flags.Every Human is a bag of fear but which FEAR?and there are many types of fear(phobias, dread etc).the dude(coach)presenting is right,if you repeat something continously, you are likely to develop "self" confidence. All greats were obsessed with repetition, from da vinci to micheal Jordan.some repeated things out of pure love and others out of need for appreciation by others.
Important points I picked up in this - persistent practice makes perfect - stop negative self-talk - reinforcing positive behaviour through positive feedback - live strong and don't let other people drag you down
@@pranamjshetty9658 For success in life and good health reduce negative thoughts. Your breath is directly related to your mind [brain] causing negative thoughts-anxiety. For a relaxed life sit on a chair, back erect, eyes closed, be still and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for around 5-10-15 minutes or more. Don’t fight with your thoughts. Slowly they will reduce and relax the mind. Deep inhalation-exhalation is not needed. Day or night before sleep sit or lie down and observe your breath. I learned more in 13 minutes than I have over all those years back in high school . The counselor humiliated me in front of the whole class saying that I was not smart enough to go to college. It stayed with me for many years. By the way, I have 1 bachelor and 2 master degrees today.
This is the Ted Talk that changed my life. I remember listening to this Ted talk in school in 8th grade, now I'm 20 years old and i carry every single value that he talks about to this day.
Important Clippings: - Self-confidence is the ability or belief to believe in yourself to accomplish any task - He sees it as a skill because he believes it can be trained. 1. The easiest way to build self-confidence, repetition, Maybe it shouldn't be repetition, but maybe it should be persistence. - Get out there, do what you want to do, and do not accept no. 2. The other one is self-talk; We know for a fact that thoughts influence actions. We need to get our own self affirmations. - Get away from people who will tear you down, there is enough of that. All the things that make him who he is, he puts down on a list besides his mirror. - Your own brag sheets. Your own letter about the things you are proud of. - Stop the negative self-talk. 3. You can teach self-confidence in others. Because we are educators, we are critical by nature in what we do. - Catch them while they're good. Praise the positive behavior we want to reinforce. 4. Self-confident people interpret feedback the way they choose too. No one will believe in you, unless you do. We are supposed to be different.
Summary on how to become self-confident: 1. repetition persistently 2. positive self-talk or self-affirmation; get a personal mantra 3. get away from people who will tear you down 4. positive perception/interpretation of all situations To build confidence in others: 1. catch them when they are good (highlight when they do well)
I watched this last year and it motivated me to run a marathon. Now I've done 2 marathons in total and a bunch of other races. Got 3 marathons planned for next year. Believing in yourself is very important!!
+Marie Bai Fells really good. It becomes the new norm. A marathon is like a threshold for me, most things are below it! I expanded my current business, I take a lot more risks in life, fear a lot less and also pass around the positive vibes. :D
+Marie Bai I'm not diminishing marathons in any way, but a great athletic event to try is a "stair climb" - I see a LOT of marathoners and obstacle course racers participating in them.
self confidence : - practice - repetition - after failure, still practice and repetition, and presistance - get out there, do what you wanna do, and don't except no - stop the negative self talk. do it, self affirmation to ourselves : I am the captain of my ship, and the master of my faith - praise the good, catch them when they're good : good job! you did good! - believe in ur self
Thanks for listing this out, Good job!!! One correction, the actual quote is "I am the captain of my ship, and the master of my FATE". It's a quote from Invictus, by William Ernest Henley. It's important, because the author of the quote is saying that he is in control of his destiny in life. His faith came from God; but the author was saying "Master of my FATE" fate, destiny, outcomes, etc
Shawn Hollahan yes he is. One of the best on this subject. This method I found online helped me to achieve my goals, www.selfconfidenceachievement.blogspot.com
he was my athletic director at my university. I remember talking to him and sort of asking(begging) him if i can drive his model S he was so nice to throw the keys to me and in his voice said " run before i change my mind". Nicest guy you'll meet.
_I used to treat other people the best I could, and I still am; the only difference is I started to treat myself the same. I treat myself the same way I treat the people I love, and I feel more confident and more happy since then. This video is a real treasure! Thank you so much!_
+scorpion6491 And on his second part about persistence and motivation. You and the people you surround yourself with is key. The importance is self-motivation. That has nothing to do with school.
There's a book called Hidden Time Wealth, and it talks about how using some secret techniques, you can overcome procrastination and accomplish anything in life. It's not just a bunch of empty promises; it's the real deal.
You can be with them and not be with them at same time. If you can, Live separate from them and stay away from them for a while. When I was starting to talk about Vitiligo, the skin condition that changed my life, my father would not have it, will call me, shout and ask me to stop everything I'm doing about Vitiligo publicly. I stopped taking his calls for 6months and even that of my mother (I don't live with them, we live 6houra apart). After 6months when I eventually take his call, I had gone far in what I had decided to do, he called and pleaded to see him, I got his blessings. I was going to stay off for as long as it takes because my self-peace supercedes another thing for me. No, I can never allow my fellow human being to get me messed up mentally while they continue to enjoy peace. I hope this helps.
I am gonna try to interpret his talk in a simple Q&A: Q: Do you like doing something in your life more than anything? A: Then go there and try to master that thing. Q: How? A: By practice, repetition and Persistence. Q: What if you fail? What if people judge you? A: SO FUCKING WHAT?? Just do your things... You are not born to make people happy, You are born to make YOURSELF happy... The End.

Summary: 1. Self confidence is a skill that can be learnt. 2. Persistence 3. Stop Negative self talk 4. Refrain from Negative 5. Focus on your good things
Video summary: 1. Fake it till you make it. 2. Practice makes perfect. 3. Remove yourself from people who suck the life out of you. 4. Believe in yourself if you want others to believe in you.
All those points I made are beyond our control. Points 1 & 2 are limited on mental attitude and willpower. Point 3 is limited based on your ability to use your environment to your advantage by the available opportunities to meet new people. Point 4 is thus far the "most" limited because there is no practical way of going about this.
***** And if you think that way then you'll never change. Don't be surprised when things stay the same when you put yourself in a logical box like that.
These are the speeches that stick. A powerful message delivered by the common man in a funny and simple way. Self confidence is without a doubt the most important skill you can attain. Let's all start believing in ourselves - don't think of it as selfish when you're telling yourself you did great in those quiet moments. Because when you shine light on yourself, you shine light on others as well.
Reminds me of what I've been once told and have been passing on to others ever since... Give as much thought to your successes as you do to your failures. Don't forget what you did right just because it went ok and now you only need to focus on improving what you did wrong or because you'd feel narcisstic self-praising yourself. Give as much time to the positive feedback you got and what went excellent as to what mistakes you made and didn't go quite as well this time.
I'd be the most selfish person on planet earth, if talking success to yourself would be considered selfishness!!! I have no, zero regret on what I've made in my life. Damn!!! My self confidence at the moment is growing exponentially!!!!!!

how do you run away from your Asian mom and dad who will do anything to convince you you're nothing to them and useless to the society, though??? They actually think that that's a good way to 'motivate' young people.
In order to be confident you need to be comfortable with yourself. You need to be able to like yourself. It can be very hard to like yourself when you haven't accomplished much and you're still struggling. That is why it's so important to get a good education and work your ass off.
***** You are right up to a point. The problem is that very few people who haven't accomplished anything are confident. When we are children we don't understand the importance of succeeding in life. Since most people value themselves and other people based on what they've done and accomplished then confidence follows. It all comes down to what you believe gives yourself value.

+Tony Vega I'm having this issue right now. I don't think I'm a bad person. I'm capable of doing great things, and being a great person. But my past is constantly tagging along, and always finds a way to bring me down. It's very very hard to escape it, but I'll try nevertheless.
"Confident people interpret the feedbacks the way they choose to". This sentence touches me a lot because we can't always get enough positive feedbacks or encouragement in our life and study. In this case, we have to learn to keep ourselves feeling good, otherwise we may decide to quit. This is definitely a significant capacity for me to pick up.
***** I understand what your saying, but I allow myself to pursue life regardless of outcome. If its good (great) if it sucks (move on and learn) The rest is just there to be. :-)
The biggest takeaway for me was, "Get away from the people who will tear you down!" - This is so true! I used to share my plans with folks that I thought were my best friends and almost always, they advised me to do the opposite. I only started seeing progress in things I wanted to accomplish after ceasing to share any of my plans with them until they were done!
Summary of the talk: "Confidence is a SKILL you can build" 1. Build it by practicing! The more you have tried something over and over again the more confident you become. Practice, repeat and persevere. The more you fail and keep going, the more confident you'll be 2. Stop the negative self talk. You're shooting yourself in the foot, tell yourself "I am the greatest!". You'll be surprised at how much that helps you keep going. 3. Get away from the negative people. You're already struggling not to tell yourself "God I look fat, I'm no good at this" You don't need other people to make this even worse. 4. Build other people's confidence: Focus on what people do well. Don't try to correct their mistakes 5. Interpret feedback in a way that builds your confidence. Instead of "Wow that interview went shitty. I gave a terrible answer to 8/10 questions." say "Hey I did 2/10 questions pretty good! I'm gonna ace those on the next interview!"

This reminds me of my high school biology teacher. She did not take “I dont know” as an answer in class but there is such a fine line between embarrassing your students and encouraging them to speak up in class even if they think they have the wrong answers. Maths class was a nightmare, the teacher was always calling out names and making people stand up and solve problems on the chalk board. But biology❤️❤️ oh man... she would even go as far as telling us exactly what to research on for the next day so we could be prepared. And she’d allow us to help other students answer if they didnt know. It was such a positive experience and it encouraged us to be curious and just ask about other things we didnt understand even if that wasnt in the curriculum. Miss that lady. 1 of the best teachers ever
The average person can’t take too many No’s. They don’t realize that the No’s are preparing them for the Yes. Most people don’t make it to the Yes because they give up so easily. There’s always going to be a Yes somewhere. When you keep going consistently you get to those Yes’s faster. Once you keep going after that you find yourself getting more Yes’s than No’s because you have now developed a skill and you are confident about what you’re doing. You literally came into alignment with success by not giving up!
Confidence comes from competence. Competence comes from repetition. Repetition happens when you interpret failure in a positive way (positive affirmations to create good beliefs). Others can have confidence in you only when you are confident in yourself.
it's good but how to keep repetition when there is lack of belief in oneself? I mean that's blocks people from repetition - they don't believe it will work for them.
Nah you're wrong. Confidence doesnt come from competence...You could be with 5 degrees in whatever area you'd like. That doesnt define you overall as a confident person. It just makes you good at some area or at least you think you are. Life is complex thing. There's no magic button as the guy said there's no universal solution to problems. You cant automatically assume you're confident because of your competence. In this case you thinking that you're confident would be becuase of your set of mind and understanding about how life works. Its your own thoughts and feelings. What im trying to say it that nothing works one and only one way. We're different people. You cant put one word and make the conclution of how it works and think that its universal and other people can apply this set of mind. And boom magic happens... Confidence is more than just that. Its mindset, its feelings and tons more stuff that come together

Summertime Snow try to have clearity, if you have clearity you dont need confidence. Do you need confidence to go to bed? To breath? To walk? Only those things that are new, we need confidence for. So for me clearity is the way.
Honestly, my advice is this: be yourself and you will never run out of confidence! don't try just be, because when you are being yourself you the best version and most unique!
Can't really agree on this. I mean sure: being yourself and living according to your own truth is the best thing you can do on the long run, since well, it doesn't help you much to live like society wants you to if you hate yourself for doing so espiaclly giving the fact you're stuck with yourself until you die (eh, that turned dark really quick...). But you won't feel confident all the time. There will be people who will try to take you down and that might trigger your insecurities or fears and whatnot. Sometimes it is hard to get away from these people and the experience you'll have with them might even scar you. Am I saying you should change to avoid that? No, I'm not. It will be hard, that's what I'm saying.
@@arcanaobscura3519 because you have to learn how to stay true to yourself and live accordingly to you truth.. I can tell you get very easily influenced you already said “what society wants”, why do you care about society? No one triggers my fears or insecurities, I always speak what I think and feel. And if it trigger you, that means you fear the society’s opinion about you and you are not sure of yourself. So learn to live without society’s acceptance of your own truth.

It is a wonderful video and and here are my learnings, 1) Believe in yourself (Self confidence is the skill, that can be trained) 2) Practice over and over again and do not accept failure 3) Stop the negative self talk. There is enough people telling us that we cannot do it. Why do we do it to ourselves? 4) Get Away from People who will tear you down 5) Interpret the feedback the way you choose to His Parenting tip was also amazing and very useful. Praise the positive behaviour that we wanted to reinforce. He said "Catch them when they are good". I just liked the way he approaches things with positivity, without breaking anybody's self confidence. Admirable is also his never giving up Attitude.
12:51 "...hears to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in square holes..... we are supposed to be different folks....and when people look at us.... believe in yourself."
One of my students told me that when he discussed his anxieties with someone close to him, like his wife or a close friend, then he found that the moment he started opening up to them, the anxiety decreased-even before he received any advice or support. Togetherness definitely decreases anxiety. There is a saying in the wisdom of Kabbalah that “a sorrow shared is a sorrow halved,” i.e. when we share a sensation, we divide it up, and in turn it becomes more manageable. Since it is quite easy to see how sharing our experiences lessens our negative feelings, the question is why do we not use this ability more? Why is it so hard for us to share our fears and anxieties with others? We are indeed afraid of opening our hearts, letting everyone see that we have certain fears and anxieties. That is, in addition to whatever fears and anxieties we hold within, we usually have additional anxieties about sharing them with others, that it might cause others to perceive us as weak. Since society in general values stronger, smarter, wealthier and fitter individuals, opening up our anxieties to such a society makes us vulnerable to exploitation. We thus need to seek a social environment that would not exploit us for opening up, but would rather give us a sense of faith and confidence that it can help us cope with any negative feelings. A social setting that can guarantee faith and confidence in its members is one that actively draws itself to the upper good and benevolent force-the force of love, bestowal and connection. It is this very same force that awakens negative feelings in us, whether they be fears, anxieties or several other painful sensations, in order for us to draw closer to that force, and we do so by drawing closer to each other. If we wish to connect with the upper force and let its perfect quality of love, bestowal and connection fill our lives with a sensation of faith and confidence, then we need to emulate such a quality toward other people-giving them a sense of faith and confidence, and for them to do the same toward us. By wanting to positively connect with others, we then start awakening the positive force dwelling in nature into the connections we create, and we then feel a new sense of faith and confidence wash away any anxieties that we might be holding within.
I really do feel like I’m being weak when I have this anxiety, and makes feel weaker to think about talking about this to somebody else but what you said was very relatable and helpful. Thanks 🙏

I sure enjoyed his presentation. Most of his talk was about knowing thyself. So many times experts tell us to put on a facade and go get that business transaction. His presentation gave me the sense and the hope that it's okay to be true to yourself and know it's okay to have weaknesses. Each and everyone of us many times have to dig deep to find the courage and strength to persevere in this world.

These days, I am feeling very low in confidence for a variety of reasons, including worries about the future, relationships, and studies. I took this lecture because it is difficult to meet my friends to be comforted by the COVID-19 situation. When I felt low confident, the more I thought, the low confident I felt. Because of my experience, The phrase "Stop inner conversation, inner negative conversation" that Dr.Ivan Joseph said in the lecture was impressive. The more negative conversations continued inside, the more negative thoughts I had. As a result, I have an experience of ruining many things with low confidence. I think the expression that thoughts affect behavior is really true. "Catch them when they are good." As Dr.Ivan Joseph said, I think it would be better to focus more on the positive part rather than on the negative part of me to protect my confidence. @@samayrahere Self-esteem refers to appreciation and love for yourself. It distinguishes yourself from others and allows to feel special. To feel you. Self-confidence means to trust yourself, to trust your abilities, your ambitions. It makes you achieve things you want to, things you think is right.
Cristiano Ronaldo used to say "im the best player in the world" and ppl thought he's arrogant but actually if u didn't support ur self and believe in no body will .
for really shy people: you actually need a psychotherapist who teaches you to "stop the negative self-talk". youtube gives you a (fallacious) good feeling for 15 minutes, but does not teach you how u shaped your brain by 20 years of destructive thinking, how you behave in situations because of that and how you can fix this in less time. it's alot more complex than on youtube obviously - fortunately you don't need to learn any theory for yourself. if you suffer, do not buy books, do not read blogs, do not do all the things, that consume time (procrastinate), make you feel better but don't help you with your actual problem - be bold and see a therapist, you will soon be as happy as could not have imagined.

Important Clippings:
- Self-confidence is the ability or belief to believe in yourself to accomplish any task
- He sees it as a skill because he believes it can be trained.
This is great ❤🙏

Summary on how to become self-confident:
1. repetition persistently
2. positive self-talk or self-affirmation; get a personal mantra
3. get away from people who will tear you down
4. positive perception/interpretation of all situations
To build confidence in others:
1. catch them when they are good (highlight when they do well)
I watched this last year and it motivated me to run a marathon. Now I've done 2 marathons in total and a bunch of other races. Got 3 marathons planned for next year. Believing in yourself is very important!!
+Jonny Kanthan How do you feel? Is there any other part of your life where you have applied the same process?
+Marie Bai Fells really good. It becomes the new norm. A marathon is like a threshold for me, most things are below it! I expanded my current business, I take a lot more risks in life, fear a lot less and also pass around the positive vibes. :D
+Marie Bai I'm not diminishing marathons in any way, but a great athletic event to try is a "stair climb" - I see a LOT of marathoners and obstacle course racers participating in them.

self confidence :
- practice
- repetition
- after failure, still practice and repetition, and presistance
- get out there, do what you wanna do, and don't except no
- stop the negative self talk. do it, self affirmation to ourselves : I am the captain of my ship, and the master of my faith
- praise the good, catch them when they're good : good job! you did good!
- believe in ur self
Failure in other words is a new beginning just with more knowledge.

A: Then go there and try to master that thing.
Q: How?
A: By practice, repetition and Persistence.
Q: What if you fail? What if people judge you?
A: SO FUCKING WHAT?? Just do your things... You are not born to make people happy, You are born to make YOURSELF happy...

You got it and know that they want what you got.
Your self-talk has power to propel many with you. Simply believe as I do.
I'd be the most selfish person on planet earth, if talking success to yourself would be considered selfishness!!! I have no, zero regret on what I've made in my life. Damn!!! My self confidence at the moment is growing exponentially!!!!!!

" Repetition , Repetition , Repetition "
Really, it is the key of any success ♡
Repetition to the point of exhaustion
أبو عوف الكندي Lots of Effort and giving your best
you can say that again.
It’s should be practice, practice, practice. To repeat the same mistakes over and over is not progress.

+jacobmufasa Chicken manure is known for its hair growing ability. Just spread a thin layer of chicken manure on your bald head before bed and cover with a shower cap. Wash it off in the morning. Tony Vega Oh laawwwdd let me get some of those GooD Gawd.

"And when people look at us, believe in yourself!" Golden words right there.

I only started seeing progress in things I wanted to accomplish after ceasing to share any of my plans with them until they were done!
Summary of the talk: "Confidence is a SKILL you can build"
1. Build it by practicing! The more you have tried something over and over again the more confident you become. Practice, repeat and persevere. The more you fail and keep going, the more confident you'll be
Don't try to correct their mistakes

'Pretty sure you all learned more in your Math class. But you remembered to this day and beyond the kindness of your Biology teacher.
Self confidence is the key to doing anything in life!
+ Action
Confidence comes from competence. Competence comes from repetition.
Repetition happens when you interpret failure in a positive way (positive affirmations to create good beliefs). Others can have confidence in you only when you are confident in yourself.
Great.. waw
it's good but how to keep repetition when there is lack of belief in oneself?
If you can’t trust yourself to be honest with yourself about your dreams, hopes, and ambitions, you’re in trouble. As you become more familiar with yourself and can trust yourself, your path to success will become clearer. Love you Rahul Makhija

”So why do we want to tell ourselves that?” this is the most positive thing that I hear it ❤️
"No one will believed in you unless you do" and "You are the captain of your ship and the master of your faith". These statements really summarized that we have self-control to whatever things or events life throws at us. @Ivan Joseph Leadership Why don't you get views on youtube Dr Ivan ?
For some reason, I interpreted this as "when you're high". I think that works too
It is a wonderful video and and here are my learnings,
1) Believe in yourself (Self confidence is the skill, that can be trained)
2) Practice over and over again and do not accept failure
3) Stop the negative self talk. There is enough people telling us that we cannot do it. Why do we do it to ourselves?
4) Get Away from People who will tear you down
5) Interpret the feedback the way you choose to
His Parenting tip was also amazing and very useful. Praise the positive behaviour that we wanted to reinforce. He said "Catch them when they are good". I just liked the way he approaches things with positivity, without breaking anybody's self confidence. Admirable is also his never giving up Attitude.

"...hears to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in square holes..... we are supposed to be different folks....and when people look at us.... believe in yourself."
Self confidence is a skill
A promising way to build is practice, practice, practice
Turn off the negative self talk
Thanks 🙏
Thank you really much for sharing!

I sure enjoyed his presentation. Most of his talk was about knowing thyself. So many times experts tell us to put on a facade and go get that business transaction. His presentation gave me the sense and the hope that it's okay to be true to yourself and know it's okay to have weaknesses. "self confidence is a SKILL"...true!
It was a comforting lecture for me these days, when I became less confident. Thank you. :)

for really shy people:
you actually need a psychotherapist who teaches you to "stop the negative self-talk". youtube gives you a (fallacious) good feeling for 15 minutes, but does not teach you how u shaped your brain by 20 years of destructive thinking, how you behave in situations because of that and how you can fix this in less time. it's alot more complex than on youtube obviously - fortunately you don't need to learn any theory for yourself.
if you suffer, do not buy books, do not read blogs, do not do all the things, that consume time (procrastinate), make you feel better but don't help you with your actual problem - be bold and see a therapist, you will soon be as happy as could not have imagined.
