Nuvel is a mexican brand. They make private label for many supermarkets. I used to work for the brand. Sometimes the dupes were better than the originals. They have a good quality control lab.

dollar tree does get those battery power spin brushes! They sell fast and aren’t stocked often
I started using PanOxyl in the shower like you suggested and use only a small amount of deodorant at night it works great 👍 👍

My underarm hyperpigmentation went away when I went to spray deodorants. I don’t understand why. Maybe because the concentration isn’t as great.
P.S. I never grow tired of these videos. I don’t expect you will approve the majority of the products reviewed but the ingredient analysis is educational.

The triclosan question was me!
In Australia we can't get benzoyl peroxide in the supermarket, but we can get triclosan advertised as an acne treatment… always seemed weird to me 🤔.
You can get a benzoyl peroxide cleanser from chemist warehouse, and other chemists. It’s brand name is Benzac I think.
Next time you’re in a Dollar General check out the Studio Selection Laboring Hands Hand Cream. It’s sooooo good and inexpensive. It’s supposed to be a dupe for the O’Keeffe’s Working Hands. I haven’t tried that one but have been a lover of Neutrogena Norwegian Hand Cream for years and I like this one better!! Hope you have a great weekend 😊

Thanks for the tips. I developed dermatitis on my hand a couple weeks ago from all the washing. It's taking its sweet time to heal. Been trying to keep it covered with vaseline
If you can stand it, eczama cotton cleaning gloves for a few hours before going to bed will really help with reducing dryness.

You're the best, love your enviable forthrightness about products. Just tell me straight, right. Anyway, I did buy the face brushes that utilize AA batteries at the actual dollar store but, drum roll please, I used it and AM still using it as a cleaning brush for my tile and tub. HA! It works so dang well too for that. Never once used it on my face thanks to a video you did a while ago saying those are terrible for the skin & too harsh. thanks Dr. D!

I like some of family dollar stuff. They have some skincare routine stuff called believe which you can get face wash, exfoliating wash, face moisturizer for day and night
i need to go in there more often
The day moisturizer is supposed to have sunscreen in it which the face moisturizer I been using is Dove men’s care which contains sunscreen and nighttime I use retinal Shea butter. I absolutely love it.

I am a huge candy corn fan. The pumpkins in the Harvest Mix are by far the best. I recently found the Thanksgiving flavors at Walgreens but have covid so I can’t taste them. I plan on doing a review once my senses come back!

I need an updated family dollar skin care bc I recently seen they added some face serums like HA and retinol and curious of your thoughts lol.
Me too, global beauty has all new serums and face washes with retinol, vitamin c, niacimides, squaline....they are sooo inexpensive, I bought the HA serum.
So, I guess I’m not mad anymore that Colgate took the Triclosan out of my favorite Total toothpaste, which worked great! The new formula is just ehh, but it seems to have improved a bit. Thanks for the info, as always, Dr. Dray! ❤️

I like it. One of the few facial sunscreens I can tolerate. Tinted plus translucent powder is my makeup. Aveeno Clear Complexion sunscreen is nice too.

Dr Dray, I just discovered Ducray Dexyane Soothing Cream. I just realized it contained enoxolone and read that it’s related to cortisone. I used it on my face for a full week, and while it cleared my face eczema (and now it’s incredibly soft), I’m worried I damaged my skin. Is skin thinning reversible? And if not, can it be prevented from getting worse?

I recently moved to Chicago and my skin started to break out. I read it’s bc I moved from a place with “soft water” to “hard water”. What can I do to stop this? I have never had acne until our recent move.
I'd check out her videos, hard water and your skin: how to deal with it? and vlog: this could be ruining your skin.
Not going to lie, I've always loved that Clean & Clear blackhead scrub. But I'm saying that as someone who's never really had problematic acne. I would use it for the very occasional breakout, just at night, so I wouldn't overdo it. But I know it's targeted to teens who will overdo it, twice a day, with an astringent. 😫 My hope for teens these days and from now on is that they will see videos from you and not go overboard with today products if they use them at all!!

can you use cerave resurfacing retinol with another retinol moisturizer like oil of olay retinol 24? or is that overkill or do they cancel each other out?

So doc for sunscreen with high UVA and UVB protection........just look for broad spectrum and SPF ?.......... correct ?
I used to use a clearasil face wash in the 90’s that had triclosan in it and it worked great for my acne

Doc...some sunscreens doesn't have PA rating.....then how to know whether it gives high UVA protection ?
you don't...PA rating isnt a gold standard either, and has limitations

Hi Dr. Dray. I currently have a skin flare up as well skin peeling each time I wash my face. It's been more than a 3 weeks. I thought I had it under control in August but I did stem cell face mask and it angered my skin once again. What do you suggest?. I am thinking of purchasing Cicalfate + Restorative protective cream and Avene Thermal Spring Water. Will this help me. I'm spending money apparently on the wrong products. I truly need your help. I've been trying but I seem to be making it worse. Can you please help
I am currently using Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Cleansing Face Wash - 16 Fl Oz. I also purchased Skin Fix Barrier triple lipid - peptide cream. I was doing pretty good in restoring skin barrier until I used the stem cell mask and Ordinary B5 acid. Once I did this it flared up my face and my skin is still peeling on every wash. I truly need your advise. As I mentioned I am thinking of purchasing Cicalfate + Restorative protective cream and Avene Thermal Spring Water.

Hey doc could you do a video talking about using skincare dupe products, like the nuvel for example. Like should we be concerned about their testing standards maybe being lower, expiration maybe less product turn around, reliability of the ingredients what is stated on the bottle, are the products as good? Does it matter? Should we stick with the name brands? Thanks doc your opinion is highly regarded 🙂
She's recommended dupes before. As far as expiration especially in a dollar tree type store, pay attention to the expiration dates.
Can i use salicylic acid wash as a body wash? IE on arms, chest, legs?
I have a sunscreen question. I work 10 hours a day on a production floor that receives no sunlight. I do get sunlight through the windows when I go for my breaks which total one hour. I apply sunscreen before work even though I leave for work at 4:30am but should I be reapplying after work before I leave?
if the sun is up, then it would be a good idea to reapply before leaving as whatever you put on in the morning is likely inadequate 10 hrs later

Thank you! I thought that might be the case but wanted to ask anyway because I wasn't sure if it was just sun exposure that makes sunscreen ineffective later in the day. Time to start packing my sunscreen! 😊
