    Yes on shaving- for me makes a huge difference in overall look and it lets sunscreen and/or makeup actually sit on my skin rather than cling to peach fuzz. Also major exfoliation! So soft

    I’m in the U.K. and I always buy my hand soap from TKMaxx. They sell the large ltr bottles of French made soap, which smells divine - generally of roses and it is quite pure, doesn’t contain any nasties, you only need a tiny amount and the whole bathroom smells gorgeous. And best bit is that it’s always pretty cheap. Win win!!!!

    • @walksthroughlife900
      @walksthroughlife900 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you remember what the brand was, I have bought some handwashing but it was expired I think, didnt smell as strong as I thought it would.

      @@walksthroughlife900 hello, they had run out of the French one last time I was there and I bought this Italian one - it’s very nice, rose and olive oil soap and the name is VIA MAGGIORE. The label’s still on showing £5.99 but I know I got it in the sale for 4 quid. This one’s in use in the shower at the moment …
      I love the French ones though. As you can see the general price is £5.99 for the litre size, so even if I can’t get a reduced one, this price still isn’t bad …
      It’s so rich, you only need a tiny bit, compared to other ones which you can buy for about a quid for 330ml - cheaper, but not a patch on these French and Italian ones. Sorry but I can’t get the photo to send ..

    I LOVE shopping at TJMaxx and Marshall’s! It’s like a treasure hunt to me, so I really enjoy looking around. Now that I am more knowledgable on reading ingredients (thanks to you), I know what NOT to get. I did actually get a ‘Living Proof dry shampoo’ which are normally super expensive, but good deal there. It is a pretty good product since I have black hair and it worked without making me look gray or irritate my dry scalp. I would never pay full price for it though, so worth trying if you can get it TJMaxx.

    I’m a “face shaver.” Regular chemical exfoliation does well for my skin, but I will occasionally get some general congestion on my skin, and that’s when I either use a stronger chemical exfoliation mask or derma plane with one of those facial razors. Then I baby my skin with very gentle products for about a week afterwards. My skin seems to do take to it.

    The coil thing is the absolute most painful hair removal device ever! The Flawless is good if you have a larger face, I don't, so there are whole areas it doesn't even touch my skin. The kind that's electric that looks alittle more like a traditional razor for the eyebrow works the best for me cause I can get in the smaller spaces and it goes right up against the skin. I've been shaving my entire face since I was 10 years old (37 now) and have not seen any darkening of any of the hairs or new growth (plus i have PCOS, body hair not facial hair) I do get a handful of individual terminal hairs on my chin as many do and I pluck those individually. Many of those are white not dark.

Additionally the apartments and houses here and not built for hot weather, so it can be really hot inside (above 25C). I think mini fridge in a bedroom are useful for both cold drinks and cold cream.

    I do shave my peach fuzz like once a month. I’m Hispanic, so my hair grows fast everywhere (I can be a hairy scary sometimes), except my face. My peach fuzz grows back slowly. I’m glad. I can’t see myself shaving my face no more than once a week if I needed too.

      Me too and, I’d have to use the barrel rather than the cream to lift my ‘girls’ - but I am 72 and all but given up hope. They were never under my chin, even as a girl. But I don’t much care any more - I tend not to put them on view - don’t like to put people off their dinner! A male friend once said to me just before I was going on holiday to Majorca, “JUNE, if your girls are not up to scratch, don’t go topless, especially when eating out, I’ve not had a good breakfast while I was there ‘cos of all these big tits hanging out everywhere. Keep ‘em covered”. I laughed cos I’m a good sport but I never forgot what he said 😂😂😂

    That Kate Somerville cleanser is actually really good for acne, it has sulfur in it and works much better for me than salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. I wish it were cheaper and fragrance free, but it's a wash off product, and there aren't a lot of sulfur options on the market that I've found

    • @rosemary5005
      @rosemary5005 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is that true?! Sounds logical (I have sulfur in a lot of other products).
      Maybe worth purchasing?

    • @Redh3adElizabeth
      @Redh3adElizabeth 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rosemary5005 What sulfur products do you use? I mainly just see sulfur in masks, but I wanted to be able to use it every day to really get the acne fighting benefits rather than a once a week mask. I've recommended the cleanser to a few friends and everyone has been pleased with the results

    • @rosemary5005
      @rosemary5005 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Redh3adElizabeth I’ve seen sulfur in a lot of those Drying Lotions (I use one by Mario Badescu, at the moment but there are many more drying lotions out there, on the market). There are also another spot treatment by The Inkey List called Succinic acid that I’ve heard only good things about. I don’t remember all of the products right now but I know that it’s in products for acne and acne prone skin. And it’s prevalent in spot treatments, to stop breakouts.

    • @Redh3adElizabeth
      @Redh3adElizabeth 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rosemary5005 Yeah it's definitely in a lot of spot treatments and masks. I feel like this is one of the only cleansers with it in it though. There's also some soap bar that Curology tends to recommend to people, but I found the consistency of that very weird and hard to use, at least the vegan one I tried. The non vegan one has emu oil or something in it

    Been shaving my face for a couple of months now, and I really enjoy it. I regret not doing it sooner bc I was worried about what it would grow back like since I have a lot of dark hair. I don't get irritation from it, unless I have acne. I do it every 1-2 weeks using a safety razor and switch out the blades every 5 uses. I tried those plastic ones before in spot areas and it never felt as good but it's probably bc I did it on dry skin lol

    Even though they items you looked at weren't expired what if they were sitting in a warehouse that is not temperature controlled before being put on the shelves. Would temperature fluctuation affect the efficacy of some of these products? Are they formulated to deal with drastic temperature changes?

    • @jamesr.g.2320
