I play guitar and absolutely respect the hell out of there guitar work in their music because they f@ckn shred. The singer is versatile and they've stuck together through pure tragedy after losing a key member of the band.

My brother in law loved this band and this song. When he died 4 years ago, we made sure to play this song at his funeral, even to the chagrin of other family members who felt it was not the kind of song you play at funeral (cause it's rock, yea my husband and I were rolling our eyes too) it is a beautiful and sad song. Jimmy died before they recorded this album but Mike Portnoy did an amazing job recreating the drum demos and the whole album just screams The Rev in every song. He was one of the best drummers ever. Synyster Gates actually had written this song when his grandpa died but then the Rev died and they made it into a tribute for him instead. Jimmy (the Rev) was such an amazing talent. You should check out the band he and Synyster Gates had before A7X called Pinkly Smooth. One of their best songs from that band is called Mezmer. Jimmy wrote it, sang it, played the drums and the keyboard also and Gates shreds on the guitar as always. Man i miss him soooo much 😭 RIP foREVer

You wanna hear a crazy emotional song by them?? Check out Fitcton. It was written by The Rev and he finished it just days before he passed. He sings in it and sounds like hes in pain. Theres alot of conspiracies or speculations about the song, some think it was his suicide note. Or that he knew he was going to pass. The lyrics definitely make you think that. He finished it 3 days before he passed away. He wanted it called Death but they named it Fiction because that was one of his nicknames. But none the less, its an incredible song you should check out!

this song is the song to remember the drummer of the band who sadly passed away, it is the bands tribute to him.
Synyster Gates actually had written this song when his grandpa died but then the Rev died and they made it into a tribute for him instead. Jimmy (the Rev) was such an amazing talent. You should check out the band he and Synyster Gates had before A7X called Pinkly Smooth. One of their best songs from that band is called Mezmer. Jimmy wrote it, sang it, played the drums and the keyboard also and Gates shreds on the guitar as always. Man i miss him soooo much 😭 RIP foREVer

They grew up all as best friends. This video is absolutely a true representation of their lives. The drummer The Rev passed during the recording of this album “Nightmare”. The entire album was a tribute to their best friend and one of the greatest and most unique drummers of all time.

3:41 It's rock... Do not confuse rock with metal because they are two different beast altogether. Usually rock is smoother and "ok" for radio while metal is usually more brutal and "unfit" for radio broadcast.
You wanna hear a crazy emotional song by them?? Check out Fitcton. It was written by The Rev and he finished it just days before he passed. He sings in it and sounds like hes in pain. Theres alot of conspiracies or speculations about the song, some think it was his suicide note. Or that he knew he was going to pass. The lyrics definitely make you think that. He finished it 3 days before he passed away. He wanted it called Death but they named it Fiction because that was one of his nicknames. But none the less, its an incredible song you should check out!
