I find it funny that I'm not even in the market for a car - yet for some reason, I still watch these videos. It's nice to know where car technology is going and Sofyan does an awesome job making these videos both entertaining and informative. Good job, Redline Reviews!
+spuddapotato2494 Thank you so much! That is the direction we'd like to head with the videos, we want to make them entertaining and informative so even if you're not in the market for a car, you can still watch the review and learn a couple of things :)
Great review. Professional yet interactive. Read it gets 33 MPG city. 42 Highway.$16,000. I`ll take it with the automatic. Mazda makes a great car so Scion should follow and it seems they did.
DooksGamer-ROBLOX And More! I'm afraid you will have to change the front light as well, since Mazda 2 and scion ia does not share same front light shape.
I have this Scion IA bought it new in April 2016 , it now has 23,645 miles runs great, never had an issue. It is a fun peppy car for the horse power it has.
Dear Redline review, I absolutely love your reviews. You are so insightful, informative and thorough. I have already learned so much about cars and am already thinking of of my future car and what features I want on it lol. Panoramic sunroof is on the top of the list. Thanks for the videos and keep up the great work.
+Nahin Khan Glad we could help! It always helps you as a consumer if you know exactly what you want when it comes time for a new car and that is our goal with our video we produce :)
I purchased this car as my first used car. In the US this is a Toyota Yaris iA and I really wasn’t thinking on getting a Toyota cuz they are veeeeery pricey but definitely worth it. I wouldn’t see myself with another car. Perfect for college students, specially on gas.
Got my iA automatic three years ago. Already had 150k on the odometer and paid about $6k for him. So far he's the best car I've had. As for mileage, I actually hit 50 mpg about a week ago.
I know this is old but i have a 2016 Scion iA and i love the car. IF you have an automatic, as i do, get a Pedal Commander or other manufacturer and it will transform the car to a zippy one. You are not going to find a better handling car is this range or a compact. I've owned Miata's and the Mazda 2 and this car is just as much a joy to drive. Also, believe it or not, it's quieter that my 2011 Mazda 3.
I have to say this is one of the BEST reviews I have ever seen. Thanks man. EXCELLENT and I do love that little cheap car. I wish I knew how to drive manual... :-)
thank you for the great review i just apply a application for my 1st car and it's approve this is a best for your beginning car so this review help me a lot to choose this scion AI so thank you again . keep up the great work :D
Heeey, what's up SaabKyle04?!?!! You guys should do a full collabo video in the future. That would be sweeeeeet! And this car is decent enough, just a little small and underpowered, however. I wish it had a heated seat option, rear spoiler, fancier headlights (like Kyle mentioned), front and rear center armrests, and maybe even a upgraded audio option as well. Some of its competitors offer those features in one way or another. Seems kinda weird it offers that fancy forward collision system, but none of those other features. Two steps forward, one step back almost. I can't see the design of the iA aging very well either. But at least it's got an affordable price point, something that definitely can't be said about every new car nowadays.
Japanese automakers are losing it. Especially Nissan and Toyota. It's like they're trying to outdo each other in outlandishly ugly vehicles. The Scion IA looks like a wide mouth bass.
this was the only vehicle i liked in terms of looks. i liked its better than FR-S, i just wish it had more power and longer. if youre not getting a honda fit for the space, then get this for the style and handling. consumer reports says teh mazda 3 2018 and older handles like a miata sedan.
+buildmorefarms100 It drives and handles great . Its a lot better going down the hills. I liked it more than the kia soul and honda fit but Its not as fun as my v8 6 speed bmw .
Front was influenced by scion design that's why it looks odd u should see mazda 2 for comparison it looks so much better but mazda 2 is not available in usa
@Dinnermeal it’s a great car man I have the 6 speed semi auto model and I still own it! I just don’t use it for deliveries anymore. Hella reliable, comfortable, and if u move up a size in tires the handling gets even better! You really have to drive it like you stole it tho since it lacks that “kick” in acceleration but once u get up to speed it has no problem maintaining it honestly. Now don’t think you’re gonna reach crazy high speeds in it either haha but the car does move quickly within the city tbh. Underrated for sure 8/10
I test drove the six-speed manual transmission two times. It has surprising legroom as I'm able to stretch out and I am about 6 feet 2 inches or 6 feet 3 inches tall. The side room is not so great as my shoulder and body are very close to the side pillar as it's very narrow but that's no big deal ..the leg room is what counts and it has amazing leg room. I want to probably buy one before they rebadge this as the Toyota Yaris and the price might go up. Plus it has amazing standard options for the price. I want to get the manual transmission one brand new before they are hard to find. This is the kind of car I will buy brand new since it's so cheap.
Why do people think 9 seconds zero to 60 is a bad thing? Why do people go off of 0 to 60? Who fucking cares if it takes nine seconds to get 0 to 60? 9 seconds is not that fucking long. This car gets 42 plus miles per gallon for fucksake.
I'm awaiting delivery. it's not fast but it sounds good. Pedal to the metal will be a familiar sensation. Clutch catch point is higher than Mazda 3. It's better looking in person too
Great reviews, any plans to review the 2016 honda accord sport sedan 6mt? being a Honda guy who appreciates the vtec dynamics, I'd like to know your take on it. thanks again, and continue the great work.
nice review! love that u tag team with kyle! just hate that Mazda gave away their ideas and practically gave their car to Toyota. Let them come up with their own stuff, they own lexus for crying out loud!
I understand that manua = sporty but I personally would have appreciated a review on the automatic shifter to hear your opinions on it. I think you guys should really consider reviewing automatics because that's what the majority of buyers opt for! Thanks for the vids though, enjoyed it :)
I'm a little confused. There's a Mazda exterior design, Mazda engine, Mazda steering wheel, Mazda speedometer, Mazda infotainment system, and an all around interior designed by Mazda. What did Toyota even contribute to this car and why didn't Mazda just reveal this as the new Mazda 2? It's literally a Mazda with Scion badges, even down to the key.
What I find interesting is that Toyota chose to put a Mazda Skyactive powertrain into their lineup (yes, I know it's a Mazda 2). With Toyota being so dead set on reliable transportation, does this mean Mazda's Skyactive engine/transmission combination is very reliable?
+Mad PistolThis is not the first time Toyota and Mazda working together, they do the same in the 80's and 90's. Toyota is a great company, but Mazda make better efficient engines.
+penvon These complains were pre-Skyactiv engines...they are better now. #2 most reliable vehicle just below Lexus. Ford/Mazda back then sucks lol 100% agree!
Hey I like this!!! Not bad! P.S. HOW many of you guys out there at first thought saabkyle was going to pop up at the driver's window and scare the hell out of Soyfan????????
I just bought one of these yesterday from the Toyota dealer and they claim the engine is a Toyota engine not a Mazda engine like the review in this video and like the Toyota symbol on the engine that is clearly shown in the video just before the review says it’s a mazda?

Im not even old enough to get a car and I do the same thing!
Great review. Professional yet interactive. Read it gets 33 MPG city. 42 Highway.$16,000. I`ll take it with the automatic. Mazda makes a great car so Scion should follow and it seems they did.
It's remarkable how they can take something as gorgeous as the Mazda2 and turn it into that.
+theshonen8899 It just goes to show you what happens when you leave the Toyota design team to their own devices.
+theshonen8899 into the same car?
+Wasp-Root
I bet its not long till people are importing the front clip from a Mazda 2 and doing a transplant.
kens97sto171 is that even possible? Im genuinely curious because the Mazda2 is gorgeous.
DooksGamer-ROBLOX And More! I'm afraid you will have to change the front light as well, since Mazda 2 and scion ia does not share same front light shape.

+Redline Reviews It's a Mazda engine with a Toyota logo on the engine cover.
+Redline Reviews Is this Scion iA having a Rear Backup Camera with Guidance Lines and Parking Sensor?
+Redline Reviews s2k
good to see you reviewing more cars with manual transmissions again
my first new car and couldnt love it more!
I purchased this car as my first used car. In the US this is a Toyota Yaris iA and I really wasn’t thinking on getting a Toyota cuz they are veeeeery pricey but definitely worth it. I wouldn’t see myself with another car. Perfect for college students, specially on gas.
Hold on, i'm confused. So basically a Mazda with a scion badge, then you pop the hood and the engine has a toyota badge on it??? Clusterfuck.
Angry Whale same with Skoda, I believe a few model actually has the Skoda logo glued over Volkswagen's logo on engine cover lol.
I’m confused too
Lmao Mazda design the car for Scion. Toyota owned Scion and also handle everything under the hood.
Angry Whale yup whole lotta fuckery brakes go out a lot and im a sunday driver lol
You and Saabkyle04, you guys are awesome !
+Henry I was that Saabkyle04 in the background?
+gwrm270 yup
+gwrm270 so I wasn't the only who thought that was him!!
I love them both redline gives his thoughts plus info and saabkyle04 gives info! they are the only two that I can really watch! well them and MotoMan
+Laserking 2031 Alex on Autos. Best auto reviews.

Gratz on 1 million subs. I bought this car like 8 years ago, been watching since
Is saabkyle in the back?
I thought so too!
+Daniel Reyes Gonzalez It was yes.
+Daniel Reyes Gonzalez derp he rides along with him later in the video and introduces him...
I felt so stupid after this comment, because i saw him, lol

Welcome to the new ford Mazda 3 scion ia focus
Lol !
Ford and Mazda aren't together anymore, therefore Ford has nothing to do with this.
You guys didn't get his joke I guess.
I have to say this is one of the BEST reviews I have ever seen. Thanks man. EXCELLENT and I do love that little cheap car. I wish I knew how to drive manual... :-)
OMG! Saab Kyle! That guy is ERRYWHERE! :D
Apparently, your spelling does not have priority over Saabkyle04.
Wait, what?!? Saabkyle04 in a Redline Review?!? Instant like!!!
this car is a steal for under 17k. Love it more than my 2011 Mazda 3. Just more entertaining to drive.
I just got one and I love it so far!
as someone who bought it for low 16k, I have to admit it is probably worth 14k in reality. oh well. live and learn.
Yes! I've been waiting for this review! I'm seriously considering buying one!
thank you for the great review i just apply a application for my 1st car and it's approve this is a best for your beginning car so this review help me a lot to choose this scion AI so thank you again . keep up the great work :D

May have been mentioned, but the ia is not a CVT.
Wow, Phoenixville, PA? That's pretty close to my house. To think I could've possibly seen you guys that day
you mentioned that it match the Fit in handling. How does it compare with the Fiesta 1.0 Eco and the sonic RS? Thanks & excellent job!
it's a Miata sedan ! nice car for old people like myself .I see myself driving this to pick up groceries and go to my urologist appointments.. lol !
Japanese automakers are losing it. Especially Nissan and Toyota. It's like they're trying to outdo each other in outlandishly ugly vehicles. The Scion IA looks like a wide mouth bass.

For 15,700 what more do you want? This car rocks for the price!
This car is a really good deal for what it is. I got mine cheap . No one even test drove it at the dealer. I get 35 mpg in the hills .
bondovwvw And it handles good/is fun to drive!
+buildmorefarms100 It drives and handles great . Its a lot better going down the hills. I liked it more than the kia soul and honda fit but Its not as fun as my v8 6 speed bmw .
I got mine for less than that. The dealer wanted it sold !
@@bondovwvw how is the sound system if properly adjusted by bass at 1 below mail and good treble?.
I don't fancy the front. But the rest of the car is pretty nice.
Front was influenced by scion design that's why it looks odd u should see mazda 2 for comparison it looks so much better but mazda 2 is not available in usa
Misinformation. The auto is a wonderful Mazda unit, NOT a CVT.
I love you baby
Delivered pizza for domino’s in this car for about 2 years. I know how to drive THE FUCK out of this car 🤣
@Dinnermeal it’s a great car man I have the 6 speed semi auto model and I still own it! I just don’t use it for deliveries anymore. hey do you personally think the honda fit handles better than the fiesta? I've driven both and have a hard time choosing
I like the new designs scion is giving their cars. Keep it up with the terrific videos ;)
You going to do a full in depth review of the new Ford Focus refresh? Thanks for the awesome reviews Sofyan!
it looks like a catfish yawning.
Catfish is delicious.
I did not expect Kyle!
I'm awaiting delivery. it's not fast but it sounds good. Pedal to the metal will be a familiar sensation. Clutch catch point is higher than Mazda 3. It's better looking in person too
Oh my God! I have one and I'm just now learning that the screen can be touch-screen LOL I have to find out how to activate that option in my car
I love your videos they are the best reviews yet
Great reviews, any plans to review the 2016 honda accord sport sedan 6mt? being a Honda guy who appreciates the vtec dynamics, I'd like to know your take on it. thanks again, and continue the great work.
+Matthew Pusateri
2016 Accord is on the list, just waiting to acquire one from the press fleet to test :)
The people want the s2k review. The time is now!
Holy shit SaabKyle04 and Sofyan......this is the best crossover I’ve ever seen!
"you have to drive it like you stole it to get it around the corners" that pretty much sums up this car
nice review! love that u tag team with kyle! just hate that Mazda gave away their ideas and practically gave their car to Toyota. Let them come up with their own stuff, they own lexus for crying out loud!
Thanks for this review! Much Appreciated.
I hope buyers know that they're actually purchasing a Mazda 2 when they buy this car.
nice review. Kinda want this car. The pricing is really appealing.
You can deal on them at most dealers
Please do a review of the new Ford Fiesta 1.0L EcoBoost
is there a cd player?
I understand that manua = sporty but I personally would have appreciated a review on the automatic shifter to hear your opinions on it. I think you guys should really consider reviewing automatics because that's what the majority of buyers opt for! Thanks for the vids though, enjoyed it :)
+John G. expect a similar automatic transmission to that of the mazda 3.
Is that the Mazda2 in other markets?
haha saabkyle...subscribed to him too..funny to see him randomly pop up
That massive grill is absolutely fugly.
+Merlyn Sk Packardbaker redux
It is worse than the Power Plenum grille from Acura.
That's the only toyota thing in it which is bad
Are you going to reviewing jeep grand wagoneer in future and also you need to compare this wagoneer's years
I'll be waiting for Kyle's review since he's the actual talented one.
great review but how many times did you say "mazda"?? xD
Saabkyle04 , Redline Review and Subaruwrxfan are lit
The front reminds me of like an exaggerated Focus ST.
Toyota didn't contribute anything. Toyota only owns Scion, not sure why their logo is on the engine cover.
Sofian, I love the song in the intro. What's the title of it?
my favorite reviewer.
Does anyone know how can I change out my wires connected to my ignition coils ?
how is the audio system? and how many speakers?
Would the AC impact this car’s performance?
Sofyan, what's the Song?
When you get a chance, please review the 2016 Audi S6, and the A6.
Should i get this or a mazda 3 sport
whats saabkylo doing in the backround
how good does this one handle in the highway, i take i-75 to school every day for about 30 miles, ussually about 75 mph.
it can do 75 if that's what you're asking.
Leroy Butts I'm asking how does it handle at 75, like how stable is it you know
unfortunately it has a electric issue with the modules that disallow the usage of your screen.
How does my 2016 IA have a sun roof?
What I find interesting is that Toyota chose to put a Mazda Skyactive powertrain into their lineup (yes, I know it's a Mazda 2). With Toyota being so dead set on reliable transportation, does this mean Mazda's Skyactive engine/transmission combination is very reliable?

+Rafael Caminero lol Is this the more efficient engines Mazda makes? www.aboutlawsuits.com/mazda-class-action-lawsuit-engine-defect-70072/
penvon no. The skyactive engines mazda uses now have been in production since 2012.
+penvon I don't see what relevance this has to efficiency.
+penvon These complains were pre-Skyactiv engines...they are better now. #2 most reliable vehicle just below Lexus. Ford/Mazda back then sucks lol 100% agree!
The radio screen actually looks likr the one in the MB CLA
actually the IA does not have a CVT automatic, it's a normal automatic.
Is it a brand new engine design?
Quick trip down to Mexico swap bumpers and headlights with a Mazda 2 or if they have any at the wreckers out there.
I'm definitely thinking that there's going to be plenty of options for aftermarket headlamps and bumpers which will make this car look a lot nicer.
This cars pretty dope I like mine so far
Grille reminds me of the Fiesta ST....not sure if that's good or bad.
Hey I like this!!! Not bad!
P.S. HOW many of you guys out there at first thought saabkyle was going to pop up at the driver's window and scare the hell out of Soyfan????????
I did lmfao
Sofyan AND Saabkyle reviewing together!? Pretty awesome
i like teh infotainment controller. but theres a learning curve.
What watch are you wearing?
Cool reviews from the pros
no satellite?
This is the New Yaris Sedan in Puerto Rico.
Can you review something older that most people would buy?
Why is kyle in this video?
reverse camera?
I just bought one of these yesterday from the Toyota dealer and they claim the engine is a Toyota engine not a Mazda engine like the review in this video and like the Toyota symbol on the engine that is clearly shown in the video just before the review says it’s a mazda?
+just4pics They lied to you. Fucking bastards. This is the same exact engine found in the Mazda 2.
I own one as well, and I can confirm you it's a Mazda 2 Sky Active engine with a Toyota plastic cover on top of it
Im European & we dont have Scion on the market over here. But after a recent trip to the States ..I spotted this car & noticed how much it resembled a the new Mazda 3 ..only slightly smaller. & using the Mazda 2 running gear . & as for the Scion iM ...its a Toyota Auris .. The Auris replaced the Corolla hatchback back on 2007 in most parts of the world. I take it a Corolla hatch was a rare thing in the States.. But that is what it is. Scion iM = Toyota Auris= Corolla hatch replacement.. So Scion are now basicly Toyota /Mazda ..Intreasting..
The Scion iA is a Mazda 2. The only thing scion change was the nose, the light, and badges. Everything else like interior and engine is Mazda 2
But the Mazda 2 is a little hatchback ... not a saloon like the Scion !!!
+265justy you're talking about he Mazda 2 hatchback not the sadden with the same skyactive engine as this scion iA
Never knew there was a Mazda 2 Sedan .only hatchback over here ..
i think this is going to be my transition car from my POS to something a little nicer/ sportier.
something bothers me about saabkyle04...dont know what though
can u guys test a 2016 maxima Sr???
+RaisinBran28
Maxima is on the list, just waiting for Nissan to loan us one for a week so we can properly test it for you guys
what the name of the intro song?
No CD player? I know I know... I still buy cd's! ;)
Transfer your CD to a USB :)
Get a bluetooth or sync it to your phone
You know you can hook an aux cord to a portable CD player and do it that way
Not bad for $15k. If I were in the market for the cheapest car, I'd definitely take a look at this.
that random moment when saabkyle04 pops up in the background
how do you start the automatic version?
Push to start
Thanks for the reply, my mom got it you have to push the brake then hit it or if its Manuel hit the clutch then hit it
Johnathan Smith Yup, I own one :)
