This song is about an obsessive stalker who is slowly coming to terms with his obsession and seeing the victim for what she really is, violently waking up.. -The obsessive made an image of a perfect woman in his brain and lost his head in it and then slowly in the end started to realize that he is indeed insane and that the girl is indeed not real, "She isn't real".. The pt.2 is the result from the first song, dealing with her not actually being what he thought she was, healing, but the lingering effects are always there.. I really like these songs, Slipknot can be such a creative band.. (Also do note that this is IMO, I feel like the gist of it is right at least)

18:59 this was the first time we seen slipknot transform in this way. Just prior we did get Corey Taylor doing the song bother which opened this door for expansion. But when we got subliminal verses vol 3, it was a revelation. It was deeply powerful and we needed something like this at the time. It’s still a top ten best record for me. Very dynamic and ripe.
Vermilion pt. 2 was actually the first song I ever heard by Slipknot and it made me completely fall in love with Corey's voice. Great choice and reaction!
Subliminal Verses, and like with you, Vermillion Pt. 2 was my introduction to Slipknot. I was absolutely hooked from there, and that ultimately led me to one of my all time favorite bands which happens to also be Coreys and that's Stone Sour. They songs he does with Stone Sour and his Solo stuff really shows off Corey's vocal range and ability.
@@soulessshadow5356 I completely agree, I love Stone Sour and Corey's solo stuff very much. I'm actually going to his solo concert next year and I can't wait 😁.
Many Slipknot heads may think that their first 2 albums were their best, but this album is their high point. The best written, performed and the way this album was set up, it f l o w s so well from beginning to end. @@sophieanderson1885 the choir and orchestra is definitely what makes it... kinda like fleshgod apocalypse. The opera/choir vocal and piano mix very well

Thank you so much for this!!! I commented that I would love to see you do Part 1 and 2 together, as they're the same song but done so very differently. The main reason behind it, is that as it was said in the opening, the songs actually go together to tell a full story. Holy cow, hearing that Piano part of it without the other instrumentals, and done freestyled without even knowing the song? THAT was beautiful and awesome.
I never appreciated the second one until today. Always loved the first one until Richard gave the background for it and now I’m conflicted. Slipknot just reinvents themselves regularly and I think it makes for better musical enjoyment. Thanks guys 🤘🏻💥🔥🙏🏻💯
