Either I never new or forgot the video version cut the "sad"s in half and only included the mellow refrain of "she isnt real, i cant make her real" Still a good song but missing something to me. damn MTV/music video/radio requirements
@@migueljoaquim2668 I assume they did it to be more radio friendly. In my book, this is one of the best solos from any band, and I am a Pink Floyd fan. This masterpiece is in the list of songs I want to be played at my funeral.
I literally adore you. I feel like you and I would have the most ridiculous and interesting conversations. These are two of my favourite Slipknot songs - Corey is a lyrical genius.
@15:18 the bendy note you're talking about always reminded me of that beautiful moment in Great Gig in the Sky (amazing song I highly recommend it if you haven't heard it already) when the soul leaves the body and Clare Torry starts teabagging your dead body.
I really think you need to listen through the whole vol.3 the subliminal verses. As far as I can tell, it's a love song stretched across an album. The trials and tribulations of what he loves. You have to listen to the album to get the progression, but it's dark and beautiful
On my Slipknot playlist I have Vermilion pt2 followed by Unsainted and the last 4 notes of Vermilion transitioning into the beginning of Unsainted does something special for me.
I can't believe you still didn't do reaction on "Before I forget" by Slipknot. The chorus is like slapping or punching yuor face. You will understand what I'm talking about when you hear it
I've always interpreted this song as a metaphor about Corey's drug and alcohol addiction. The video doesn't exactly fit but lines like "enter the night that she came home" "she is home to me" "she's the only one that makes me sad" can all mean addiction. "She" "her" is drugs. "I wont let this build up inside of me" and finally ending on "she isn't real" the addiction isn't real. If I remember right corey was sober for this album
These two feel very much like an album release of a song and then one of the old MTV Unplugged sessions of the same song. The stop motion in the music video to part one, triggers a memory of something that I can never quite put my finger on. Something that I watched when I was younger. It definitely makes me think of the Video for Sober by Tool, and to a lesser degree the skeleton fight in Jason and the Argonauts, but there's something else at the edges of my memory. It'll probably be one of those "4am revelations" where I wake up and it his me. That guitar riff hitting though, in part one, you're getting so close to a full mosh. A couple more cheeky Costa's and you'll be shredding your neck muscles with the best of them. Probably while waving a shoe.
Been saying, since you started Slipknot, I can't wait for Vermilion 1 and 2... and you did not disappoint Teddy! There's so many more amazing songs by them. Very excited. Ty, and keep it up. These are great!
To me, he's stalking her. Obsessed with her... there's more to the story on the rest of the album. Very dark. Also, so cool you mentioned Avenged Sevenfold Cosmic. They are my favorite band of all time. I'll tell ya thats been A LONG TIME...
To appreciate the sentiment of this song and videos, it's quite important to listen to the song Iowa... The last track off their second album. It's long, dark, and very aggressive in places, but sets a very similar story which carries over to this, their next record. I think Corey still had some things to explore on that theme. - as in, there's a reason why she's lying dead in an Iowa field.
Oy, mate, there was a sound on the audio that made me feel something metallic in my spine at 5:49, I've never felt while listening to this song. Figured it out...the microphone was picking up on your jumper strings clanging against your necklace.
Corey often do acoustic shows. And he often do Vermilion part 2. And its epic. He sings it different on stage. Corey Taylor-Vermillion Part 2-Feat Jim Root(acoustic) is a good one to watch.
Banger. And thank you for doing both. This is a perfect example of unrequited love. Having the love for someone turn into total infatuation, and having it never returned until they move on and they end up dead to you because they found love elsewhere. So so so so good.
The songs in the music videos are actually quite a bit different than by them selves.. they cut out du much good content, change so many vocals and even added random sound effects. I honestly think you would be getting a better listen if you were to use Apple Music or Spotify to listen to the official recordings. Great reactions as always tho
I’m not sure if anyone asked for you to react to it yet but you should check out Nero Forte by knot, I swear any non metal head will be head banging to it! Love that you’re checking them out! they’ve got so many bangers 🤟
My timeline might be off, but I've always thought of Part 2 being what necessitated Stone Sour. I believe it formed just after this -- I could be completely wrong, but almost like it scratched an itch he didn't know he had.
Pretty confident stone sour was formed before Slipknot Edit: After googling it, Stone Sour formed 3 years before Slipknot so ~12 years before this song released
Corey taylor the lead singer has another band called stone sour there's a acoustic live version of a song called bother the audience does the backing vocals and it's amazing
You are awesome. It is a pleasure to see you vibing to my favourite band. You're feeling it. I really recommend: 1. Solway Firth 2. Nero Forte 3. Wherein Lies Continue 4. AOV 5. Orphan 6. Unsainted 7. Disasterpiece
I would love to hear your opinions, thoughts andinterpretations on the unforgiven part 1, 2 and 3 by Metallica! It would be as interesting as it was with vermilion, such different toned musics but with a well defined meaning and message
This will never be official or acknowledged for legal reasons, but the Vermillion songs are about Purity. It's clear as day to me. But the band can't acknowledge it because of the law suit. In case anyone is interested - Corey heard a fable about a girl who was buried alive in a box. A young boy would visit her and feed her in exchange for her telling the boy scary stories. Corey heard about this fable and it really affected him! So he wrote a song about it (called Purity). On the original Slipknot album, after Frail Limb Nursery, they played a section of the recorded fable, and then went into the song Purity. The original writer of the Purity fable sued Slipknot and then had to remove it from their album and they replaced it with Liberate, and a bonus track, Me Inside. But as far as i understand Corey couldn't let that story go. Listen to Purity. Research the story and how it affected Corey. And then listen to Vermillion. Vermillion is about Purity. I'm 100% convinced. But they can't acknowledge it for legal reasons. The final line is the seller, for me - "she isn't real. I can't make her real". Corey knew the fable wasn't a true story. But it still affected him.
you should just listen and react to the full album. you go from this solum feeling at the end of this song to ready to punch someone with the next song
For anyone who dosen’t know, Corey talked about how this is from a murderers perspective. It’s about a psychotic who is obsessed with a girl whom he can’t have and he’s trying to repress his selfish urges. Ultimately, the murderer DOES let it built up inside of him. Hence part 2 where the girl is dead. I DIDENT WRITE THIS 🤘🤘🤘
For me I heard Vermillion 1, and 2 shortly after listening to the song Iowa, from Slipknot, which I think explains how I see this song. My interpretation is a very dark one, and I would just say this, at least read the lyrics to the song Iowa, then revisit the lyrics here in Vermillion 1, and 2. It might change how you interpret the song entirely.
If you like the solo in pt1, you should listen to the studio version, since in the video it got trimmed down a bit.. Not a massive difference though, but I still like it better :)
While the song is about a stalker and all that, the video seems to be about someone that is ignored while she is falling apart and eventually, ya know, self deletes. To me, it's about him seeing her as this perfect creature that he marvels at, instead of a person with feelings that needed the right kind of attention. She's very pretty, but troubled, and without anyone there to pay attention to her she finally just let go.
Hey brother. You love the guitar solo even though it's not complete in the music video. Album version is complete and so much better. If you go listen to it and agree. Please like my comment. Hugs. Love your vibe.
You're not far off Corey's description of the song: Take your thoughts about the meaning of the song, and sprinkle in a "healthy" dose of schizophrenia and ...less amicable behaviour towards people you have... tingly willy feelings for, and this turns real dark real quick. :S (And just so we're clear, Corey also stated that the song is not about himself :P )
In this album, there's a song dedicated to all of the maggots out there, it's called "Pulse of the maggots", really recommended
And IMO this is one of the best three songs of Slipknot
This is my absolute favorite slipknot song 👏
Vermillion pt2 is such a gorgeous song im so happy you reacted to it
You need to listen to the album version, this is cut and you're missing one of the best solos ever and the ending is also cut!!!
Up
Agree 👍
main reason to always listen to the studio tracks first
Either I never new or forgot the video version cut the "sad"s in half and only included the mellow refrain of "she isnt real, i cant make her real" Still a good song but missing something to me. damn MTV/music video/radio requirements
i have the studio version and its excatly the same. I looked up on my CD and its also the same. What do you mean by ending is cut? CD version 3:44 min
“Slap him in his armpit” got me💀🤣
I love this style of slipknot, melodic, dark and makes you think. Plus the harmonising in pt2 is just sublime 🤌🤌
Conseguiram melhorar o que já estava bom
Part 1 is him stalking her, Part 2 is after he murdered her
Wait WHAT?! How did i not know that?
@yourpalCarly all woman love two things , Vermillion part 2 and true crime shows! It all makes sense now
It's like a follow up of Prosthetics
The Plot in You Feel Nothing would be such a solid look
Love that song 😁
You got the Patreon to drop it in as a suggestion? Would love to get Teddy into the Landon world
Would be so dope!!!🤘🤘🤘

this and my old ways !!
Under played, under appreciated. These are classics. Thanks for this reaction.
You missed an absolute banger of a solo on Vermilion, as it was edited from this version. Excellent reaction as usual.
Sad they did that, as the album version really is one of the best guitar solos from them..
@@migueljoaquim2668 I assume they did it to be more radio friendly. In my book, this is one of the best solos from any band, and I am a Pink Floyd fan. This masterpiece is in the list of songs I want to be played at my funeral.
“Who TF says dabloons?” ☠️ 😂
I literally adore you. I feel like you and I would have the most ridiculous and interesting conversations. These are two of my favourite Slipknot songs - Corey is a lyrical genius.
Love how the jingling of your jacket drawstrings hitting your necklace while you move mixes with the songs almost perfectly 😁
Omg yes
That was driving me crazy lol
Just discovered this legend, someone is going to binge watch all his reactions today.
You’re amazing
Vermillion Pt 1 and 2 are from the perspective of a serial killer. PT1 is the obsession and part 2 is the loss after he kills her
If I'm not mistaken, the virus of life is soon after, and that's when he kills his vision of the love (probably the girl)
I believe the last notes you pointed out at the end of part 2 is actually the first few notes of part 1❤
Sure is
@15:18 the bendy note you're talking about always reminded me of that beautiful moment in Great Gig in the Sky (amazing song I highly recommend it if you haven't heard it already) when the soul leaves the body and Clare Torry starts teabagging your dead body.
Love that for someone from your region Wallace & Grommet and Chicken Run are the cultural touchmarks for stop motion.
You are exceptionally good at picking up on meanings and lyrics first time through.
So the first song is talking about the obsession and part two is the aftermath of it all.
I totally agree.
Wallace & Grommet, got it and got you! Brilliant reaction and interpretation my friend.
You absolutely have to watch the unplugged recording video of "Snuff" by Slipknot, it's much darker and slower like the Vermillion's are.
I can't believe you still didn't do reaction on "Before I forget" by Slipknot. The chorus is like slapping or punching yuor face. You will understand what I'm talking about when you hear it

This is what it is. "Unrequited Dream"
I highly suggested you react to Before I Forget, Unsainted, The Dying Song, Yen, Hive Mind and Eyeless by Slipknot
These are some of my favourites
To appreciate the sentiment of this song and videos, it's quite important to listen to the song Iowa... The last track off their second album. It's long, dark, and very aggressive in places, but sets a very similar story which carries over to this, their next record.
I think Corey still had some things to explore on that theme. - as in, there's a reason why she's lying dead in an Iowa field.
you are exactly why rap fans shouldn't be taken seriously when it comes to real music. Slipknot BARELY counts as real music and you STILL blew it.
Oy, mate, there was a sound on the audio that made me feel something metallic in my spine at 5:49, I've never felt while listening to this song.

Dude needs to listen to Unsainted that shit will actually blow his mind
I'm a fiend for reaction videos of both parts and I already love your stuff Teddy. I literally just hit play and can't wait.

The behind the scenes on how they filmed this is so cool.. there’s only little bits of the footage but very good
You need to hear ill nino - god save us or i am loco. And Killswitch Engage-my curse or Rose ofsharyn. And taproot - poem. And 36 crazyfists 😃

Teddy, you should listen to the full 5 minutes+ song for a longer solo 😁
@teddygreyonstuff in pt1 you misheard it's her fertilities, not fatalities.
Also I'd like to recommend Snuff from Slipknot. That vid is dope.
Noo. Not the vid... It's cut.. The album version is much better. Don't you agree? But very nice recommendation. My favorite from them
I loved Chicken Run!! Lol
Brooo stray kids “ WHY “ is out now please do a reaction to it
You NEED to check out Shoots and Ladders by KoRn!!

Agree 100%
Vermillion pt 2 ❤❤❤❤
I wanna see him react to purity
I know what Chicken Run is and I know what doubloons are and is a funny word
Love it... Video doesn't do this song justice... It's a such beautiful song both of them.... ❤
Teddyyyyyyy!!!! You gotta react to "WHY" by skz... Just uploaded 2 hrs ago.
Here again to recommend Nine Inch Nails, anything from the 90's. Preferably The Downward Spiral album
Dude can you react to pulse of the maggots. It’s a banger

MOTH by the band HELLYEAH
Great reaction, you would also really dig AOV and gematria by them
day 1 asking for "a place for my head" live in texas from linkin park (their best song imo) its very diferent from the album version aswell
Better watch this live
I love the death masks. I think I’ve only seen them wear them live one time.
I have always loved part 2
Hey brother. You love the guitar solo even though it's not complete in the music video. Album version is complete and so much better. If you go listen to it and agree. Please like my comment. Hugs. Love your vibe.
Just finished watching all the videos in this playlist I REALLLLLLY WISH YOU WOULD REACT TO (ALEX TERRIBLE) DOOM VIDEO GAME BFG MIX
You're not far off Corey's description of the song: Take your thoughts about the meaning of the song, and sprinkle in a "healthy" dose of schizophrenia and ...less amicable behaviour towards people you have... tingly willy feelings for, and this turns real dark real quick. :S

NEED some lorna🙏🙏🙏
You should reaction disasterpiece by slipkot too it gonna make you crazy
