Good lord I love hearing him play the piano version of the song afterwards. This was one of the first songs I learned how to play on my guitar, but I was never very good at piano…😅
Great video as always! I think part of the confusion you guys were running into is the distinction between "guitar turning" and "key" - the "drop C#" tuning just means they've tuned the strings down so they can get lower notes, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're playing in the key of C#. They can still play in any key they want - which determines the actual notes they play. The tuning is just a mechanism to aid in achieving a particular sound (lower notes or to help make some notes or chords easier to play in certain keys). So while they might be in drop C# guitar tuning they could still be playing in Eb minor like Judson was hearing. He probably knows all this and was being gentle not trying to explain it, lol
@@Greatmeasures hahaha I wouldn't take it to that extreme but you could tell he just didn't want to fight it lol. I don't know what key that song is actually in but my point was just that "key" and "tuning" are two different things. You can tune your guitar however you want and still play in whatever key you want, you just might be making it a pain in the ass for yourself or easier depending on what notes/key you're trying to play in!
Another good example of a Guitar tuning that makes it easier to make certain chords is an Open tuning like what Devin Townsend uses. I believe he uses Open G tuning.
How fast Judson can pinpoint the chord progression and add accurate accents makes me think you guys should do a Drumeo/Pianote-style challenge where you make him learn a song he's never heard as fast as possible - and I have 10,000 suggestions
I would LOVE to hear Vicinity Of Obscenity by SOAD, definitely WAY overlooked, but one of my personal favorites for sure! Great mix of the high energy SOAD we love, and FUNK in the chorus.
There is some issues on your sound quality when you guys are speaking. Fuzzing noise and low sound levels. Would be nice if you could fix that cause your conversations is the best part of these videos and Judson is a one cool dude.
System of a Down is the greatest band of all time. There isn't a single track in their entire discography that isn't incredible. If I was only allowed to listen to the same 30 second chunk of music for the rest of my life, it would be 2:30-3:00 of Forest. Found you guys from the Tool videos which are great, but hadn't subbed yet. I'm subbing now in hopes of more SOAD in the future!
I would love to see a reaction from both of you to Enigma music like Sadeness Part 1 and Return To Innocence, two of the world's popular sensational hits ever to come out in the 90's!
You gained a new subscriber, love System of a Down and would to see more of your reaction on this amazing band, may I suggest *Serj Tankian - Empty Walls - Elect The Dead Symphony live* Thank you, really enjoyed it ❤
These Measures are Great. I like both of you guys. Sorta 2 ends of the spectrum, methinks. Jesus will take his ppl on Dec new moon. I hope you know him and have received his Forgiveness. Wow. To sit down and play it after just hearing it once,.. you are gifted. I play a lil guitar, but struggle at it. You sir, play beautifully. PlZ comment works to your original music, Great Measures
You have done so many great reactions already and I am completely mesmerised by you guys!! Have you thought about reacting to the Smashing Pumpkins (Mellon Collie) or Radiohead? I feel like Judson would appreciate their musicality.
When they tune down the guitars they use higher gauge strings so that the strings don't lose tension. And/or use a guitar with a longer scale length (longer string).
You should definitely check out Serj's solo performance with the orchestra as well, Lie Lie Lie for example is very theatrical and fun, Empty Walls is also very very good!
We’ve actually been using two different pianos in two different houses. Where we go has been completely dependent on scheduling. In the next couple of weeks, we’re going to do a ton of videos from the theater where Judson works. Hoping to give a tour and show off the pianos, orchestra pit, etc.. Should be fun!
This is the first guy react to this song to be able to pick up on the subtle dry comedy in the lyrics when he says “should be banned” and “day that I’ll never miss”
So the professional composer or whatever that is giving his opinion.....yea that dude.....he ALWAYS looks like you just got him super high right before filming this.
Great reaction. Anyway, can i request your reaction to superb band from japan? The band is call "Lovebites" They all The Beautiful Queens Metal band right now in the earth. They are really really World class musicians. Phenomenal. And they have a lot die hard fans too. The song is "Swan song with the chopin intro" Hope you check out, and can enjoy it too. Big thanks🙏

Has he heard Question! by SOAD? That's a wild one, and one of my favorites.
I doubt it. Great suggestion! 🤘
what an idea. playing his interpretation after the song is better than anything i've seen yet. _VERY_ good idea.
I absolutely enjoy Mr. J and his humor. I think a lot of people miss it.
yup, especially in this video 😂😂😂
Beautiful piano playing Judson
Agreed. He was really feeling this one.
System wrote so many songs that are different but are all easily recognizable in their style. Badass
Good lord I love hearing him play the piano version of the song afterwards. This was one of the first songs I learned how to play on my guitar, but I was never very good at piano…😅
sorry to ask but are you good at guitar bro ? He's indeed great in piano, all of that only after the 1st time listening to this masterpiece 🥹🥲👍
Serj and Daron bring THE BEST vocal harmonies in metal
Layne & Jerry in the 90s and Serj & Daron in the 2000's are easily my favorite vocal harmonies
The Beatles - We can work it out

The song is C# but usually tune to drop c
I think you’re right. Now that I watch it again, he was definitely trying not to make me look as stupid as I sounded. 😂

Better to be transparent on a reaction channel (or generally) than fake as shit.
I really appreciate the piano afterwards aswell. Very entertaining!
Thank you. We will continue to be genuine and authentic. 🤘
Richards endless stare when the piano is played!!
Wow! It's so amazing to hear you play! Such a beautiful rendition.
There’s a lot of great System of Down songs to dig into. Can’t wait to see more
Revenga. There’s like… 5 reactions to that masterpiece on YT. You really can’t go wrong with any System song though, keep up the awesome work
Judson's talent never ceases to amaze me!
impressive, he hears it once, and then can almost play it on piano... very impressive! ok mustnt be high then...
Loved the transition from reaction to improvised high class concert.
Judson is freaking awesome!!!! Thanks for bringing the greatest music to his ears Richard!!!!
I love the piano interpretation at the end! Well done!

Thanks for watching! Much more to come
Great song to see his perspective on
Nice piano playing👌

was having a bad day got tears in my eyes and feel good piano is powerful
From min.8 the magic of the video begins, without words.
Would love to see a reaction to Blinded in Chains or Trashed and Scattered from A7X, though Afterlife would likely be a top pick as well
What a pianist
8:57 onwards reminds me of 'Philip Glass - Truman Sleeps'
dam goosebumps !!
Great videos guys. Love the Lego hair richard..
😂 Thanks!

Yeah, we had a buzz issue but I lowered the frequencies above 2000 just to salvage the videos. It was my fault. Apologies. It wont happen again.

yeah, #Forest is one of their criminally underrated hidden gems even though it's inside #Toxicity album 😢
So good.
Damm, i forgot how good this song is, great video guys 👌👍
this video is a hidden gem

I’m digging the new recording room.
Judson needs to hear either Griftwood or Spillways by GHOST 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

As alway tjank you for your work and passion guys, and @judson sucha a pleasure to sing along with your arrangemnt🤘

Really enjoying this channel - thank you 🙏- maybe one day dive into King 810 (such underrated lyrical masters)

Have you thought about reacting to the Smashing Pumpkins (Mellon Collie) or Radiohead? I feel like Judson would appreciate their musicality.
I love the word "musicality"!
Man I wish I could do that on a piano. They put thicker strings on when they tune down, so it's gonna be ok
The piano skills to closely replicate the songs melody!! Thumbs up!!
Nah he’s off in more than one spot to be accurate
the piano moves me more than the voices
Yo Richard, show him some Protest The Hero. 🤘
Bloodmeat?
@@wheatthicks I think with Judson, I would probably show him Blindfolds Aside, Plateful of our Dead or She Who Mars the Skin of Gods.
I love that you picked this for not one of their popular. This or Spiders.
From a band with such a unique playlist, this is not really the song I would have chosen, but looking forward to see more

Se nota que es ya un experto hace las canciones en su piano apenas las escucho por primera vez eso es otro nivel jaja
Dimmu Borgir - Progenecies of a Gread Apocalypse, grand piano version
HYPNOTIZED MINDS!!!
Somebody got it!
@@Greatmeasures I might be a 3 6 fan....
Yes. Soad for life ❤️
Give him something on the spin-off band Scars on Broadway, good music there. They say or 3005 or anything.
I like this song

Lovely day.
You should make a large list of songs and have Judson check the ones he hasn’t heard before and then choose the surprise song from the list.
Great stuff once again! You should check out Ne Obliviscaris "misericorde II". They're an incredible band from Australia!
This song has a kinda House of the Rising Sun feel to it 🤔
cant wait to hear Hey Brother- Avicii 🤘❤
Please do Lost in Hollywood..love from Hellas-Greece 🇬🇷
now you did it ... 😊
Can't believe you guys are listening to soad at my grandma's house
😂
The Black Crowes! 😃
Everyone of course loves their 90-92 work, but they have a song from 2001 called Lickin’ that is bonkers.
I would like to suggest Mass of man and Real young swag. Great artists and great songs
@2:27 ok guy knows his music, he know stuff, im in, haha 😅
I think its time for mister Shostakovich to take a crack at Blind Guardian - The Bard's Song & Valhalla, live at Wacken.
How about some Buckethead, guys?
A very short Internet search places the key at A flat minor.
In fairness Drop C# isn't that loose. It's just tuning everything a half step down, dropping the lowest string an extra step.
I wanna see him react to Ren and Chinchilla, the song Chalk Outlines
hered=played
no doubt
Question! / Forest / Ariels
So do you guys move the Piano around to different rooms or does he just own multiple Pianos? haha
Do you imply that there are rooms without pianos? 😮

I love your channel guys. But where is IRON MAIDEN - HALLOWED BY NAME? :)
where are the previous SOAD videos? :)
Creep by Radiohead would be a good song to go with this
They’re in E flat. I tune down my guitar half step to play it
I think you should do Just Like You Imagined by NIN, I think it would be a perfect listen. Great vids anyway
System of a Downs Spiders please!!!
A Perfect Circle or Gojira please🫡🫡
First time on this channel and not looking at the comments.
Is he a savant?
