FYI; that tiny inlaid frame is handmade in Iran. The technique is centuries old (called Khatam Kari) and is used to make frames, decorative boxes etc. the little artwork inside is a miniature. Yours looks to be pretty old! Great rare find. Absolutely beautiful Persian art😍👌🏼
@@trinasthings Awesome! I happen to be Persian myself, so I have lots of pieces in my collection. We are so much more than just our world famous rugs. Iran has incredible art. To be expected of an ancient, rich culture and land♥️
I've stopped sourcing at or donating to goodwill. So happy with the decision. We vote and create change with our wallets! You can find much better prices in local small business thrifts and estate sales.
That was a great haul, Andi. Don't get nervous about not finding anything, the universe doesn't always come up trumps and the search is just as interesting.
I think that blue/white crackled cat/kitten signed piece at your first GW is Dedham pottery. And people definitely like cats (especially right now). Loved that painting you picked up. Who was the artist? Did you research to see if local? Nice finds. Hope you had a wonderful time in Europe. 🌸
Hi Andi! I just started my vintage decor reselling journey and you've been such a help and inspiration. Just wanted to comment on the hearts 😁. I am not a fan of hearts either but the reason the pieces exist is because other people are! Put your own style aside and give them a shot. My two cents... thanks for sharing your journey!
We got some Daisy glasses for a wedding present When we got married in 1971 and also a set of sheets with great big daisies on them. I just loved that stuff.
But I think you can have lots of browns AND make things pop. Maybe not turquoises and reds - try ochre, mustards, tans and creams. It stays within that aesthetic and helps define your space and helps items pop without using stark white and walls. TFS and good luck!
I totally agree about tourist pieces that have the destination on them, but some of the wood pieces are great quality and really cute/pretty. I don’t know what kind of time constraints you have but on the piece that you passed on ,box with bird, the wording can easily be removed. Fine grit sandpaper does the trick without damaging piece. If it’s raw wood your done if it has clear sealer just brush a little on. It takes 5 min. I have done wood, ceramic and clay pieces that the destination is carved into or applied in a raised fashion as well . Those take about 10 min. and may require a little paint as well as a clear coat. I only pick up the pieces if they are good quality and would appeal to a broad audience if not for the wording. So fun treasure hunting with you👍🏻😄
Great to see you back from Europe trip can’t wait for the Belgian ‘hauls’ when you post them👋👍… Can appreciate you anxiety about ‘ the high price difference ‘ when you visited the ‘home’ thrift stores… but really delighted that the ‘universe’ was ‘with ‘ you and the great hauls you found in all of them.. and they were ALL really interesting 😃….Also very pleased to see you considering and getting som glass items!!!( as I suggested you might want to consider, more often in future)..pity about those colourful tumblers…which is one of the things which will do well if in better codtion.. but the other 2 glass selections you made were very good 👍… loved the Owl !!.. hope they do well for you. Had a hard time choosing my own favourite pick in this haul…the mixed media modern art piece , I loved ( because love all kinds of art… and of course I would have got the beautiful grand coastal scene… stunning!!..and very well painted… that would have sold… but ‘whatever ‘ !!..it didn’t ‘float your boat’ on that day ‘ that day 🤣… and you did get loads of art work on your trip anyway…. ALSO loved the small handmade box ❤️… looked heart shaped to me… AND I could see ‘a face’ in the Lid too… ??!…look again? ( but maybe I’m seeing things 😱)…very pleased you had a great response to your request for ideas etc… and yes we now know that booth requirements… but glad you appreciated ideas for your other booth and Etsy store..I read a lot of the responses.. and they were really good ( I used to do Antique and collectable ‘Fairs ‘ in England…which were fantastic… and very ‘eclectic’ too)…Look forward to your upcoming Hauls… Cheers Andi 👏. Hi loving you content!!!! I'm just about ready to start my own adventure selling ' have a good inventory now. Just BIG question is how do you come up with your etsy pricing ? As I see prices all end in weird amounts of change...??? Could you maybe do a video explaining how you set up your etsy? Be much appreciated by your followers that would love to follow in your footsteps! Thanks so much Andi for your amazing content ' I watch and get inspured! Hope you can help us all on the selling end more. Thanks 😊
I personally loved all the brown in your booth LOL I'm a neutrals girl! I laughed when you showed us that $1200 cabinet - I saw a Reel on IG just last night where someone else had seen it and was all 'GW has lost their minds once again'. It's delusional thinking for a GW to charge the same as Charish who are audacious in their own right. There's a hierarchy in these things! GW stuff should be no more than 1/3 of the average ebay sold price.
Goodwill …GOOD GRIEF🤯 they have lost their mind!!! What’s so sad is that beautiful piece will end up in the landfill or damaged. They are shooting themselves in the foot by making nothing. Who is making these decisions ?! They have all these “educated business people” within the company and my 6 year old grandson is capable of seeing that this is flawed thinking. Making some money is better than none. They are a thrift store not a high end antique auction house😡
I enjoy watching you and now I want to collect animal-shaped baskets and brass! Goodwill prices in San Diego are twice as much as in Portland. No kidding. It's at the point that vases are being priced at $14.99 good, bad or ugly. Goodwill needs to be careful not to lose customers like us.
I just picked up a whole bunch of stuff at one garage sale for 50 bucks. Some of it ended up being broken and will affect my bottom line, but still blows away those Goodwill prices. I myself would have picked up that oil derrick because I am currently watching the original 13 seasons of Dallas, and they have very similar ones all over the show. 4:33 How about the frosted Blendo glasses next to the ones you are looking at? I love Blendo but the value on them is so low I typically pass them by. That seascape looks like it's missing something, like it's unfinished.
FYI your Kokeshi with the black hair are called Usoburo-kokeshi and I recently found out about no face Kokeshi. I asked George and he said that they're extremely rare in the West 😊
I think the Salvation Army has better prices - Goodwill has become the Willaims Sonoma of second-hand home decor and home goods. I actually stopped donating to Goodwill too since I think they have lost sight of their mission.
Okay so no white or bright color in your booth how about incorporating various textures (soft fabrics, shiny metals (BRASS)natural elements to create visual interest. This contrast enhances the appeal of neutral and brown tones. gold brass next to a piece of pottery so the gold makes it pop or adding plants can bring life and color into a space, making brown furniture and neutrals feel more dynamic and fresh or accent lighting in the areas that are not moving as fast……my last opinion was def. Trying to be frugal and not have to paint something white lol so forget the dollar tree white boards…… now that I know they want it all cohesive with the browns those are my design tips lol. 🙋🏻♀️ I loved the lay box in your haul today and of course the brass
I thought the oil rig tower could be an original way to display or organize drop & dangle earings or even bracelets. I feel the same about odours, plug in room deodorizers or scented dryer sheets makes me gag, they're poisoning the air as they're so nasty, bees wax have the sweetest smell fo sure. Does the prices of items include the shipping?
WE don't need you to have fake color on your lips for us to like your content. I love dish washer damage old stuff, love tapestry pillows. Is that coming back? You are not wrong to reject the seascape painting. OMG I milk goats and NEED that stand. Although the chair I use now is almost reduced to that size. When you have to scoot them around twice a day they get quite beat up...lol 💞 Noelle Stiles
I have seen so much 1990’s Home Interiors stuff lately. It was so cool and amazing back then but when I see it now…no thank you. 😂 I’m not ready to call it vintage.
Goodwill should have never started looking things up online. It completely goes against their mission statement. I get needing to raise prices to fit what’s happening with current economy, but their prices are as high and sometimes even higher than retail stores and eBay, at least here in California. (I know that there are GW stores in other states that are not price gouging. ) They are NOT a thrift store. All my family and friends no longer shop at or donate to goodwills. We only support the mission based and mom and pop thrift stores now. We all used to love shopping at and donating to Goodwill but not any more. I hope enough people quit supporting the Goodwill stores that choose to overprice everything and that they take notice and reevaluate.

I have one that’s about 25 years old.
@@trinasthings Awesome! I happen to be Persian myself, so I have lots of pieces in my collection. We are so much more than just our world famous rugs. Iran has incredible art. To be expected of an ancient, rich culture and land♥️
Thank you for sharing the history behind the piece!
Yes, Goodwill prices have gone nuts. I'm looking in local thrift and donation stores -- it's a real hunt. Fun video!
You always crack me up when you pick up Home Interior pieces. (Brass hearts sconces) Back in the 80s we had home parties.
I've stopped sourcing at or donating to goodwill. So happy with the decision. We vote and create change with our wallets! You can find much better prices in local small business thrifts and estate sales.
Wow! I love love this Chanel. Can’t wait to watch more of your videos
Thank you so much!!
Andi, the box that reminds you of a walnut, I see a heart there 😅 Since you were noticing a heart theme 😆 You had such a lucky day, love everything ❤
I thought it was a heart, too.
Yes, heart shaped too! It’s wild how themes emerge when we shop!
Anything with hearts scream 80's...I always pass on those as well! Love your channel!!
Thank you!!
I didn’t care for the seascape so glad you passed on it. I like the abstract art you did get. 👍👍
I love your booth even more now that I know every booth is aesthetically coordinated. It must be a beautiful shop!
That was a great haul, Andi. Don't get nervous about not finding anything, the universe doesn't always come up trumps and the search is just as interesting.
Great finds at all the goodwills. I love the brass and bigger box. 😊
Hi Andi! I'm glad you are keeping the piece of mixed media art... it is glorious!
Fantastic hauling day for Andi!!! So deserved!!! Welcome home from Europe!!!💞💞🙃💞💞
Thank you for sharing, you always find the coolest treasures 😊
Don't let staples keep you from buying vintage art. I have been stretching canvas with staples since 1970!
Those bookends are amazing! Makes me want to redecorate in a nautical theme, LOL
Cracking me up with your sticker shock 😂
Those brass heart sconces were from Home Interiors back in the 80’s.
I think that blue/white crackled cat/kitten signed piece at your first GW is Dedham pottery. And people definitely like cats (especially right now). Loved that painting you picked up. Who was the artist? Did you research to see if local? Nice finds. Hope you had a wonderful time in Europe. 🌸
I noticed that too. I bought a Dedham bunny of similar size for $5 at GW and flipped it on Etsy for $78. It sold really fast.
Omg now I wish I would have got it!!! I’m always still so hesitant on figurines even tho they usually sell. I don’t know why! Lol
Amazing flip!

Absolutely LOVE you!! Your videos are so much fun, like a fun girls date:). You have inspired me to start my own etsy shop because #thrifting is life
You can do it! :)
Great video! LOVE the frames picture & book ends. I'm a sucker for boxes as well...the inlays are amazing!
Love, love tge walnut box and the milking stool
I've bought the Florentine religious plaques and sold them for a great profit. Try one! 😊
Good to know - thanks!!
Nice haul! You might be able to work in some creme and black items with the browns to break it up a bit but still keep it neutral tones.
The vase with the lid (black clay and copper) is Raku Pottery.
You found some awesome items. I’m so happy for you 🤩. I loved the sea scape painting but I understand your hesitation. Gotta trust your gut.
We got some Daisy glasses for a wedding present When we got married in 1971 and also a set of sheets with great big daisies on them. I just loved that stuff.
Love that!
If that oil rig sculpture is still there next time you go, I will buy it! I need for my Americana West Texas vibe
For sure!!
But I think you can have lots of browns AND make things pop. Maybe not turquoises and reds - try ochre, mustards, tans and creams. It stays within that aesthetic and helps define your space and helps items pop without using stark white and walls. TFS and good luck!
Love the art picture you kept
Love the brass book ends ❤
"cause i hate the world smells" hahahahaha :)

I agree about the seascape - I think there was something off about the actual painting -a bit too static? Whereas the abstract was exciting

They really did lose their minds!! I’ll see if it’s still there when I go again and give an update.
Hi! Nice haul. Tfs
Love your videos 💗
I'd love to have that gray marble vase at 11:42.
$1200 for furniture at Goodwill?! That's officially the most insane price I've seen. What even...
Goodwill …GOOD GRIEF🤯 they have lost their mind!!! What’s so sad is that beautiful piece will end up in the landfill or damaged. They are shooting themselves in the foot by making nothing. I kinda wish I would have picked up the oil rig now because others have said they are interested in it!
goodwills are almost like going to an antique shop now
I noticed right away when you didn’t have your lipstick on and I thought you looked so pretty! You’re gorgeous either way tho 😊
I thought the same, and Andi looked younger with natural lips. Maybe just some clear gloss? 🤷🏻♀️
Aww thanks! ;)
FYI your Kokeshi with the black hair are called Usoburo-kokeshi and I recently found out about no face Kokeshi. I asked George and he said that they're extremely rare in the West 😊
So interesting! Thank you for sharing. :)
20:29 nice vase
Oh my gosh the calico cat box! I wish shipping internationally wasn’t so expensive 🙁
I think the Salvation Army has better prices - Goodwill has become the Willaims Sonoma of second-hand home decor and home goods. I actually stopped donating to Goodwill too since I think they have lost sight of their mission.
May I ask why you don’t post the Good Wills you go to? As a Portlander, I am curious.
I go to those same Goodwills frequently myself and even saw some of the items she bought there! I recognize all of the locations.

Thrift stores got greedy its better to shop yard sales or a local swapmeet.
The heart sconces aren't even brass. Just sprayed gold. I can appreciate the 80s vibe tho. I just won't source them in the future.
Yeah def not great quality but younger generations seem to like whatever. I love that about them! It it vibes that’s all that matters.

Is the owl blenko??
it had a made in china sticker on the bottom

You look nice without lipstick...fyi 😁
Oh thank you! ;)
I’ve stopped going to goodwill. I go to more independent thrift stores, the greed at goodwill is ridiculous. I no longer will support that company.
Although you did get a few great pieces, especially the inlaid wood box… awesome!!
I have found that estate sales in our Portland area have much better volume and pricing.
Stupid prices
Will we ever see this wonderful husband?
Haha he sometimes appears in my bday thrifting trips in December.
