- Hi Everyone! My name is Andi Jenkins and I’m a chai-fueled thrifter, vintage reseller and interior stylist. All Put Together is where I share my latest thrift hauls and styling tips. In today's episode, we're shopping on of my favorite antique malls in Portland, Oregon - Stars! I shopped both locations (there are two right across the street from each other) and found some amazing vintage pieces for me, my Etsy shop and my vintage booth. Can't wait to show you what I find! We live on in what we leave behind - people, things and effort. The person who made the ottoman is pleased you love it.
I hope they do! I will cherish it forever!
@@AllPutTogether It's incredible! Such pristine condition. What a steal. Also, that huge colorful abstract painting is S T U N N I N G. And those two smaller colorful paintings--also wonderful. I'm so jealous. Your taste is impeccable. The things available in those across-the-street antiques spaces were gorgeous. Your area has some real gems.
The ottoman is awesome! Excellent workmanship! It's a beautiful piece.
Yay! I saw that ottoman last week when I was in there and it's been haunting me ever since. It's such a special, unique piece and I'm so happy it ended up with you! It looks amazing in your space. xRebecca pink sun vintage x
Hi!!! Man I'm so glad you didn't buy it lol! I still can't believe I got so lucky.
Love it all of course! great finds and that ottoman is amazing!!!
Thank you!!!
I lost my mind over that needlework ottoman. I'm so glad that you bought it. Before the video was over, I rushed to your Etsy shop to see if you listed it. It is stunning. I'm glad you didn't leave it behind. I completely understand you not being able to part with it.
I'm so sorry it isn't for sale! I still can't believe I even hesitated over the stool. Ive never seen one like it.
I couldn't imagine your hesitation either 🤔
That embroidered stool is fantastic. I was laughing a little at the way your camera/eyes returned to gaze appraisingly at the stool from across the room. It felt authentic to the experience of finding a treasure while shopping.
I’m so GLAD you got that ottoman!!! It is awesome 😀😀. Your haul was so much fun. As usual, it was great to follow you around at the antique stores.
The ottoman brings me joy every day! :)
That ottoman is absolutely beautiful and keep it forever ❤️
It really is and I plan to! :)
The ottoman? It is everything!! Amazing and a thousand other adjectives ❤🎉❤🎉 Super find. Congrats
It is so good I'm still recovering! ;)
That ottoman was fabulous! I’m glad you purchased it.
Me too! I can't believe I got so lucky!
The ottoman is epic.
Every time I look at it I just beam! ;)
The ottoman is exquisite!
My heart feels full every time I see it in my studio!
My fingers were crossed hoping you bought the ottoman. Like you, I can't imagine how the person perfectly matched the geometry of the ottoman base. Love the oversized painting.
The craftsmanship blows my mind. I can't believe I even questioned getting it for a second!
Omg the ottoman is so beautiful. I would have bought it too. Watching from Australia. 🇦🇺 loving your content.
Thank you!!
Andi, I don't know if anyone else has commented on your glassware vessels, yet (which are SO BEEYOOTIFUL,
BTW!), but I just wanted to give you the name of the "stick" that the glass blower breaks off of the blown glass piece, as well as the proper name for the "scar" that said stick creates on the bottom of the piece.
The stick is called a "punty rod."
(In glassmaking, an iron rod used to hold or shape soft glass.)
The "scar" left by the punty rod is called a "pontil."
(A pontil mark is the scar where the punty rod or punt was broken off from a piece of blown glass. Its presence indicates that a glass bottle, tumbler, bowl, etc., was blown freehand, while the absence of a punty mark suggests that the piece was blown in a mold. Pontil scars can be classified as "open" sometimes with raw, jagged glass on the bottom, or "polished" and smoothed over.)
Sorry! I didn't mean to hijack your thread with a mini-course...🤦♀️
I am so glad you bought that ottoman! Gorgoeus and great haul. Our vendors never have sales above 20%. Maybe the coat rack could go in your booth then you don’t have to ship it or make the box:))
This mall always has wonderful deals and pricing. It's an absolute fav!
I love the Ottoman, especially the basket weave sides!. My father was a master upholsterer so I was always amazed at his ability to do those corners and shape fabric around the wooden cushioned base. I am about to inherit his old trusty Singer sewing machine. One of my favorite things he gave me was a foot stool that has lemons that my mom embroidered and that he upholstered with lemon colored velvet on the sides. Simply divine! 💛Noelle Stiles
The footstool sounds stunning! How lucky to have such talented family members. Thank you for sharing!
The ottoman is absolutely beautiful! I would have bought it myself.
It's a forever piece!
The ottoman is everything. I want it!
I’m so glad you bought the ottoman! Never been a fan of abstract art…never. Glad you love it.
Haha abstract art can be very polarizing! I like practically all art, which is my problem because i want to buy it all!
Love all the brass you found!
I think the turtle grater is for coconut not cheese. TFS - great haul!!❤❤❤
Coconut makes mores sense given it's a turtle! Now I need to look it up!
The wooden stool with the hole in the middle and the swirl is actually missing a piece, there would have been another seat that was inserted in the middle and you could raise is up and down (adjustable height). It would have screwed in the middle, hence the swirl
OMG I can totally envision it now! So glad I didn't buy it! haha
Okay, my mind works in mysterious ways. Here it is: on one side of the magnificent ottoman I see a critter! 2 hind legs, a long body, and, yes, a checkerboard for its head! Am I the only one???!!!
I love the needlework ottoman. I understand you keeping it, its fantastic
It's so good I still cant believe my luck!
Your candle drawer! It’s unbelievable! 🎉🎂
Thanks! I smile every time I open it. ;)
I saw a large Mexican feathercraft next to another painting you were looking at. That's one of my fetishes. I'd never seen a big one like that!
I love these too!
Love your content…Knocked out Cold…nearly fainted luv it…
Haha thank you! I feel so deeply about my finds. :)
I was going to be so bummed if you didn’t bring home that embroidered footstool. Omg
I still can't believe I hesitated for even a second!
and the ottoman! a masterpiece!!
It truly is!
So glad you bought the ottoman! it is so you and I LOVE Stars and wish I could have gone. I never leave empty handed even without a sale. So funny I picked up a Flea Market decor magazine in Colorado a couple of days ago and the owners were featured in it and were on the front cover. I love their taste in vintage!
Too funny! I went back there today and bought more stuff AGAIN!
@@AllPutTogether I know! I watched it. I just love that mall so much! I’ll be down in July and am definitely going there.
I'm glad you got the ottoman, it's very you.
So me!! Its like she knew in back in the 70s what I liked! haha
❤Ottoman 🩷🩵💯
Hiya I'm not in love with needlepoint at all. Yes I can hear the boo's now.
But I kind of know you from watching your channel & know that you go bonkers over large needlepoint pieces. So when the camera first flipped to that shot of the needlepoint ottoman from the 70s. I knew you were bringing that home with you. You can tell that the person that made this loved it also! ❤️ I would have paid up for it if I was you too. So glad you got that piece for yourself. Honestly I'm almost 70 & I tell people everyday it's the little things in life that bring you Joy. Like this ottoman! Every time you're going to walk by that you are smiling at it. So to me it's priceless!!!❤
That ottoman is still one of my fav finds ever. It's just wild how much work someone put into it. I do not have the patience for needlepoint or embroidery so that may be why I love it so much. I know I could never finish one myself! ;)
You were right!! Amazing sales especially in dealer 99’s booth!! I’m so glad you got your ottoman, what a great score!! 💜 I bought the two little square floral plates with gold trim right next to the beautiful aqua blue cloisonné lidded dishes with spoons in your video!! They just looked like little pictures that I will hang on the wall!! You’ll see them in my haul video eventually!!😁
Can't wait to watch your video!
I agree, the ottoman is stunning
Thank you!!!
Love the swans! Oh wow the bench is fantastic. 😍😍
It’s going to be very hard for me to part with the swans. They are so cute!
Doesn't @LauraCaldwell need that Italian metal grape candleholder for her Little Italy???
I wish she did!!! ;)
Love, love the big, colorful art piece and the gorgeous footstool! I would want to keep both of those forever, too! 💗
The word you’re looking for is “punty” That’s the “stick” they use for blowing glass. The actual name is “pontil” but punty is more widely used as a nickname. So that would be a “punty mark” sometimes called a “pontil mark” or a “pontil scar”
Thank you!! I know nothing about glass so this is very helpful!!
Great video. I really enjoy watching 😊. Like your style as well.
Thanks so much!
That ottoman is stunning!
Right?! I'm so excited!
i love the brass turtle grater! very traditional from India
It sold so fast in my booth! It went to a person who was writing an Indian cookbook!
I love Stars, but haven't been for several years.
You need to go back! It's so good.
The hand blown glasses are perfectly lovely!!! On the bottom of each glass is the pontiff mark where the blowing tube released the piece!!! I think that's right!?!💞💞🙃💞💞
I've been passing up pairs of wooden hand turned candlesticks even though I really like them. (Dark wood and more of an antique or colonial look to them.) I figured no one wanted them so I have been passing them up. Handblown pieces have a pontil mark on the bottom unless they have been grounded smooth.
I think people are liking wooden turned ones here because we have a lot of craftsman style homes. Online I sell mostly the traditional kind to people who love cottagecore.
Are those the (whatever)baby vases everyone has been looking for. I know this probably doesn’t make sense butI hear re sellers talking about them
❤❤❤❤❤❤
What do you use to shine the brass
I use vinegar and Bon Ami.
12:30 am talk less when you are showing the haul!
Really happy for you finding the ottoman. Lovely piece, but my favourite item in your haul today was the huge abstract painting. What a stunning piece of art! 🎨 Thanks for another great vlog Andi
I really love the art I got too. I can't believe that big painting was $55. You couldn't buy the canvas for that!
@@AllPutTogether I know!
@@AllPutTogetherI just came here to comment on the great price of that painting. It’s so cool!
Oh my god the OTTOMAN
I know!!! I'm still dying over it!
How do I find what you use to restore wood?
I don't really have a good go-to product at the moment. Sorry!
@@AllPutTogether Since I inquired with you, I saw your friend Laura Caldwell uses Conrads Wood Oil. I'm going to give that a try. Thanks for your reply!
You probably thought about matches for the swans because of the Swan Vestas brand. Stool is perfect for a needlepoint aficionado.
You're right the swans are on those matches!
Thank you for sharing your awesome haul love everything single item in it. Have a wonderful blessed Sunday and week.
You are so welcome! ;)
Love Stars antique malls! Years ago I had a large window space there! It was so much fun!
It's the best place!
that footstool! 💓
4:55 those are very pretty 7:37 I’ve never seen a needlepoint ottoman & my aunts did a lot of needlepoint. That had to be a lot of work. 13:51 that’s a neat picture love the colors
Thanks so much for watching!
The art @13:17 (in your left hand) looks a lot like something by Louise Abrams. The designs, colors and the way the paint is applied is very similar.
Btw: unless someone already mentioned it, the little blob on the bottom of blown glass is the 'pontil' or the 'pontil scar'. I don't know much about glass either, but, the pontil can be indicative of the maker or region of mfg., in some cases anyway. I usually avoid buying glass with a hollow ground pontil...a lot of glass from China will be hollow ground. I've found that a lot of finer pieces will often have a totally flat ground and polished bottom...but, again, I'm no expert, just my own observations.
Thank you for these tips! So helpful as I learn more about glass!
The ottoman is sooooo unique and breathtakingly gorgeous!!! Your killing me Small!!! U deserve such a, one of a kind, piece!!! Well done!!!💞💞🙃💞💞
Every day when I look at it I go crazy all over again! I still can't believe I got so lucky.
