Hang the nude art. Not a big deal. When my kids were young and were on play dates, there was either no art on the walls in others’ homes or the art wasn’t good. That’s worse.

Oh, yeah! This is me 100%. When my son gets a package at the door, he’s all excited about his new item. Meanwhile I’m too busy eyeing the box it came in to notice what he got.

Estate sales are the best for sourcing on the last day when everything is half off. I’ve never had trouble finding things even though it was the end of the sale. You just have to pick through things which it sounds like maybe you don’t like to do the garage and the backyard have a great deals that people often overlook. My favorite estate sales are when they say pickers paradise bring your own box!

You guys remind me of my two friends and I shopping at the thrift stores in Reno and Carson City Nevada. We live in California and the prices in Nevada are usually much better than here. My highest price I’m willing to pay is $20 for ANY item. I do not know how you guys make any money with the prices that you were paying! My bottom line is I have to be able to at least quadruple my cost to sell in my vintage booth. I have to keep my cost very very very low. I’m guessing your sewing platforms must have much higher price points than mine.

I use vinegar to help get rid of smells in fabric. You can soak the garment in a mixture of vinegar and water, then wash in the machine as usual. Good luck!

If the sweaters can be washed try plain white vinegar. It does not make the clothes smell like vinegar

I would say as a mother and grandmother raising boys I’d prefer for my grandsons friends parents not to display nudes because I’d prefer to be the one who explains the difference between boys bodies and girls bodies but it’s a personal preference after all if not for Adam and Eve we’d all be running around nude anyway 🤣 love your channel

Love the nude painting-however not sure how to advise you on whether to display it with young children coming over to play. I would keep it in my opinion but hang it in your work space as it’s beautiful! Try. spraying the shirt with vodka and allow it to absorb the smell-then launder. Vodka’s a great sanitizer and will not stain it--worth a try!

That pillow saying reminds me of a lyric from the song “But Not For Me,” written by George and Ira Gershwin. The song is about not yet finding love, and the lyric is, “Hi-ho, alas and also lack-a-day.” It’s a combination of arcane expressions about deep sadness and regret - basically “Oh, well, what a pity.” As a Gershwin fan, I would have grabbed the pillow, but it is admittedly a bit weird.

You need to Putin your home what you like and really forget about what other people will think … the painting is very classy and if someone has a pb with it … then they really have a pb and maybe not worth spending time with someone like that ??? But disclaimer … I am French and nudity is never a big deal …

I think it’s really sweet & responsible of you to think about your son’s friends when it comes to the nude art. I have 3 grown boys now & personally I would not have had an issue with them seeing nude art when they were young. Funny story- my father went to Greece to visit family when my boys were like 6, 7 & 8 years old & he put together a photo album of his trip, which included a section of the topless beaches he visited. I didn’t realize this until I noticed my boys showing an unusual amount of interest in this photo album, lol. My oldest son asked if he could show it to his friends one day & that’s when I caught on. It wasn’t anything close up & personal & it was all done in good taste, but I was still annoyed with my clueless father. To him, it was pictures of beaches, but to an 8 year old boy, it was pictures of boobies 😂

White vinegar for the win! It neutralizes any odors in clothing or pet stains in carpet.

Put it in a bag with the crystal kitty litter, it’s designed to pull in smells! Also good to put in a sock and in trainers of stinky feet people 😊

I have a very large print of a well known 1920’s painting of Josephine Baker in her banana dancing skirt where she is bare breasted. It’s displayed on a wall in my dining room. When my son was small we had a birthday party for him and one child said ‘I’m going to tell my mum and dad that you have pictures of naked ladies’.

Yes, I think felt on the bottom of the cat would work well. You always want tchotchkes to look like new ….even when they’re vintage. 😀

Andi, you are so precious and special to share this with us! What a tremendous gift. I started selling vintage on eBay back in 2004 and sold up until around 2008, then restarted in 2024. Watching your videos has helped me along the way in my journey, mainly because what was vintage in 2004 and what is vintage now are two different things! I was selling clothes back then from the 20s 30s and 40s that I had collected and wore when I was in college. Anyway, watching this video has given me some direction that I very much needed for 2025. It came at the perfect time because I broke my ankle December 21 and I have been pretty much confined to my house. I also have a thrift addiction and it is killing me that I can’t get out and source; However it has given me a lot of time for reflection about growing my business, and now I have some new tools and ideas to get me set up for a big successful year! Thanks for the reminder though that it takes five years as an entrepreneur to make it overnight love that. Take care and thank you again.

Funny you would mention nude pictures on the wall around children. I was the coach for a school project. There were 7 kids in the group and we’d meet at each of their houses. One parent was an artist and their entire living room wall was covered with pictures. Up at almost ceiling height was a nude sketch. I think it was ok way up there not in the 3rd graders site line. Nothing was ever said about it and I’m glad. It was perfectly fine with me. Not sure about the other parents. I guess we have to add nudes to the list of no guns in the house, no alcohol around kids and no nudes. And when my oldest daughter was 16 she wanted to take an art class where they have a live model. She later got her degree in art. She asked if she could go and was ho humming about the class. She finally fessed up that a nude model would be there. I think my husband and I burst out laughing. And yes, we let her attend the class. Parenting is so much fun! What ever happened to learning about the human body through National Geographic?

I am a re-seller that HATES TO SHIP too! HOWEVER, some of my best sales have been large items; I just recently shipped a CHANDELIER from east coast to west coast and learned a lot - Got excellent feedback from my buyer. Now I have to choose? , … how to proceed in 2025! LOL! 😂

I think nude art is fine for kids to see.
