Nice one mate. How do you find spots like this? Is this private land or state forest? Fair enough if you dont want to reply, just starting my own journey into camping like this.
Hi Ed, I just look for spots on maps on the side of a river. Mostly on private land, but, I keep my camps small and as you can see at the end of the video I leave no trace that I was there. Thanks for watching.
Please don't call the combat 1man ration packs, MREs. And the Australian and New Zealand defence forces tender for ration packs together. Obviously the tender includes various requirements for halal, vegetarian, Australian or New Zealand centric foods. The Australian army used to sell ration packs at the gun shows, don't know if they still do.
Thanks for the input for my video. I just called it an MRE as this is the vernacular that is common on TH-cam. Thanks for clarifying the situation with tendering, and the food contents and I will have to check out a gun show to see if I can get the genuine article. Cheers Paul
Cheer mate! You are the second one I watch after Scottywalkabout :) Love the bush cooking.
Happy to be held in the same regard as Scotty, thanks for watching and the kind words.
Dead set mate you had me hooked. Finally another Aussie
Thanks Scott, glad you enjoyed it.
Great video mate. Thank you.
Cheers Wayne
The dinner looked delicious! Love watching you cook in the wild.
Cheers! It’s become a big part of my trips now.
I use my towel as a wind break and chuck it in my sleeping to warm it up. The heat packs from MREs are awesome to warm your swag.
@scottsevers6194 brilliant idea, I’ll have to try that. Cheers Paul
THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pleasure, glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks Paul, love the cookup👍
Cheers Shaun
nice work mate
Cheers, glad you enjoyed it.
Great vid! The Bass are spawning now and are very fussy making them hard to catch. Come September they will be back on the bite.
Hey thanks for watching. I did some research during the week and you’re correct, I found this out last year and completely forgot.

Looks a lot like rocklands reservoir which is a free state forest camping area. Stocked with bass too.
