When you said, "The wind is going absolutely crazy...", I was thinking, "Hell, yeah. Listen to it HOWL!" Then I paused the video - and the howling was just the sound of my heat pump as I enjoyed my coffee in bed. You're such a trooper, Abel.

I have a weather radio. I don't camp in the rain nor snow.
So many camping TH-camrs, yet this channel is "must watch" for me. Love the variety of conditions and the enjoyment you derive from being out in the most intense situations. Hope Victoria is well! Be safe!

Smart move to go to that cabin and warm up , that is a strong tarp the wind is some thing else. And nice wood bashing you never let me down lol

I’m currently camping in a WW2 small walled tent made of canvas. It’s summer here in the UK but bloody wet. The rain is just mental & this tent leaks a lot! I appreciate your struggle to bring us these videos

I love these winter videos when it's SUMMERTIME in Arizona! Crank up the cooler and a fan, turn out the lights and imagine wearing some warm, waterproof gear, like Abel has on, in a sleet/snow storm.
this is one of my favorites... you show that sometimes it does'nt go as planned. good that's you've stopt to warm up.

Abel, I HAVE to tell you, about the BIC lighters, throw them away and buy one of those ones that are like a mini torch. They can be used even when it’s windy and don’t require a flint to work. They are usually refillable as well. I had two BIC lighters in my camping gear and I don’t know what happened but they had seized up and the wheel wouldn’t turn. I ended up forcing them and the flint must have broken on both and they both ended up being useless. Luckily I had a bbq lighter as backup and it uses piezo to create a spark, or I would have been rubbing two wet sticks together!

Reminds me of camping on the Oregon coast.
That was some very challenging conditions for camping! With the very high winds, rain, sleet and snow. Plus how cold it was. But it was a very good camp. You should do a video called Processing fire wood and starting a fire even if the wood is wet by Abel. 👍 I enjoyed watching, thanks for enduring the harsh weather for us!

It really did look cold in your video, but man, you make it look like it's cozy with the chair cover and and all that stuff. Love it and love your videos! I'm mainly a day hiker and that's what my videos consist of but I want to start doing some overnight backpacking and bikepacking this year. Videos like this motivate me!

I admire your type of camping. I’ve done it a few times with my sister because she likes wild camping. However, I can say I love my electrical hookups but that doesn’t stop me subscribing and watching your videos. You make me laugh when you eat 6 hotdogs🤣

Pre-cooking pasta slightly under Al dente before you go camping is helpful as it means you only need to basically warm it through when needed.
Saves a good amount of time and gas!

I don’t mind camping in rain, snow or sun, but when it comes to wind, I don’t even bother. It makes fires dangerous and them embers typically end up burning holes in tarps and tents, not to mention it causes your wood to burn a lot faster and in drier weather has the risk of spreading.
I now setup a dedicated fire tarp away from my actual tent just to be sure I won’t burn it.
As a young teenager, how 74, used to camp in this kind of weather in old canvas, bottomless tents when in the boyscouts. Minimum equipment. I was usually firstup in mornings starting the campfire. Then we'd spend the day hiking sometimes upto 10 miles! Missita lot. Thanks Abel for taking me back to another time ! Great vid !!
