Everyone's saying the person in the song had everyone they know die but I think it might just be the mother (hear me out on this): At the start she's dreaming, and is either pregnant or has a young child IRL. In the dream, she thinks that her baby's dying, and when she wakes up from the nightmare she reveals (through the lyrics) that she often dreams about her close family dying. She's in a relationship where she sacrificed something (let's say, her job) so that her partner (presumably husband/baby's dad) could work and she could care for the child. At the same time that she was doing this, he realised how much her job meant to her and quit _his_ job so that _she_ could work. So they both ended up having to get their jobs back to upkeep the family (after missing two loads of money for a decent amount of time, they'd need more). Then the mother gets sick, and the child's POV comes into the song- like it has been in the chorus. The child's talking about their mother being very ill, and not having the will to fight because she's guilty about the turbulent situation the child went through as a kid- lost jobs, regained jobs, less money, possibly moving etc. She doesn't think she 'deserves' to get better because she was a useless mom. Just my two cents

it's actually someone I wish I knew for my Skinwalkers mep, The Sony Vegas I has has lots of layer mods, I removed the white backgrounds by putting the video layer that had the parts on multiply(mask) and bam no white in sight.
