Did not weep or sob, but I was definitely affected enough to dribble a few tears to an extent above what I would typically define as tolerable for an adult male over an art medium, lol. I can't specifically outline the systematic choice setup, other than the instance occurred as me encountering one of those vague, circuitous references to the prog's significant other. This time around, it took the form of an item, the "Damaged Ledger". It read: "Harry, I wanted to write you a letter, so you can read it when you wake up. Maybe it will make you happy. Every morning, when I step out and you're asleep behind me, I find a little piece of sadness in me. I carry it in my chest down Voyager road... Every step I take, it grows. By the time I reach the fuel station it has filled me entirely. I step on the light rail and look back, sparks fall from the bow collector. I know it will be like this until late afternoon, when I get off the 42 -- and walk back to you... You, you...Every step I take will get lighter. It almost makes me run! Sometimes I do. I can't believe I met you. I can't believe the happiness I feel with you. You have a vast, vast soul and I will always, always, always come back to it. Kisses, kisses, kisses." Testament to this game's writing, ahem.
No doubt, you have to be in the right zone/headspace for it to hit, but I actually was surprised that I kinda cried at a piece in this game.
It read:
"Harry, I wanted to write you a letter, so you can read it when you wake up.
Kisses, kisses, kisses."
I basically died for a couple of minutes and lamented my self state through a horribly acute lens of what Koreans would term 정/jeong, and separately longing, self-loathing, and regret.
Truly an amazing game.
the reaction to the DMX lyric got me dead 😭 bros were just in awe
