On The Golden Girls, I always loved when Bea/Dorothy would keep looking back/up after Betty/Rose said something nonsensical. She'd start talking, then pause and look, start talking and do it again, or leaving the scene, she'd keep turning around and looking back--loved that! RIP Bea

Benny mentioned his violin teacher as a Mr. Le Blanc. He's referring to a character on his show played by the legendary voice actor, Mel Blanc, Jack Benny's best friend who did numerous cameos on his show. Mel Blanc played part in one episode as Jack's teacher and Jack drove the poor guy into insanity with his crazy antics.

In real life, Jack Benny and Lucille Ball were next door neighbors in Beverly Hills. In the scene were Lucy is admiring Jack Benny's photos, I would have written in a gag where one of the photos she comes across is Lucille Ball. Then I would have had Lucy Carmichael say "I always thought she was the most glamorous star" to which Jack Benny could have given his trademark stare into the camera and say in a deadpan voice "yes, I'm sure".

@@christopherdutro168 No one forces you to watch. All in the Family to my mind was horrible, Johnny Speight the writer & creator from the UK called the show in the UK Sickness & in Health & it was a hit in Germany. As I said, I thought the show horrible. But M.A.S.H. was brilliant in my opinion. Fun, fun, fun with the back drop of war, pain & suffering. Writers have messages & opinions, like David E. Kelley of Boston Legal among other things, he too has strong opinions on how America dumb down education & bully their way around the globe. His message was We are not the best but do our best.

I wondered about that, all the special effects! I noticed a giant hole in the "rock wall" after the Indians charged Mr. Benny, revealing it as styrofoam (seen clearly at 21:23.) You can sort of see it break at 20:02 when they come running from behind it. But even I, who works as a theater set designer, can figure out how they did the quicksand in front of a studio audience! Ha ha! Must have been an elaborate set-up!

@ Theresa Brockie: But that is what his role and the comedic episodes with Lucy is all about Teresa. Gale Gordon was a great actor going back decades with Lucille Ball, In the Lucy Show he plays Mr. Mooney, a grouchy but good hearted, inpatient, stingy boss. I don't understand why opticians sell to customers glasses frames that don't actually fit. The arms are too short on Jack's glasses.

Love Jack Benny and a wonderfully and fully accurate depiction of indians toward the end 🙂

Lucy and Jack lived next door to each other for years. A friend of Lucy's said you would hear the violin long before you saw Jack. He would come in the backdoor do a turn around the kitchen and you would hear him all the way back home. Jack's radio show was the best on radio, better then Hope. He made himself the butt of all the jokes and the writing was excellent not to mention the cast. Jello was his sponsor before the war then they need Gelatin to make bombs so Jello didn't have to advertise. After the war Jello became the sponsor of Lucy's radio show "My Favourite Husband." Lucy would start the show saying "Jello everybody, Jello!"

The 3 should be NINE digits.
Such a low digit implies he must be VERY, VERY old.
