Amazing, the wide variety of super-talented guest stars on this program. Each came to the show bringing their particular talent to life through a well written story. With the reverse-evolution of TV today, I just don't think this sort of thing would even be possible now.
The new generation lost soul of all. No touch.. no feel.. no dream ..etc... Hollywood and other entertainment comoanies should close their studios for good and open sometime for public as BIG museums. 😄 We have rich old shows to play anytime and books to keep us well entertained.
I never saw this episode before. So great to have a "Lucy find" like this. Excellent episode, showcasing the talents of our beloved and legendary red head (and Mr. Winchell, as well...) After seeing this, it is so sad to read that his taped shows were erased. So many treasures of the small screen have been lost to this stupid act of "wiping out the tapes", thereby losing some legendary shows and performances.
Old post but I agree it's sad to lose those performances. One thing to note was the idea preserving or saving TV shows is a very new concept and back then it was common to erase and record over on the media that could be erased to save costs. Also companies and even artists really didn't think they'd be showing these films 50 years later so it just never occurred to them. It's terrible though to think how many laughs are forever gone never to be seen again.
Oh my goodness! I heard the voices at 11:54 and wondered where I had heard them before... then I realized they sounded exactly like Dick Dastardly and Tigger from Winnie The Pooh! I Googled Paul Winchell and discovered he was the original voice of Tigger. I either didn`t know or had forgotten. Fond memories.

When I was a kid his show was my favorite. Watched him all the time. Dolls don’t get me creeped out unless they are in a creepy show and they are doing creepy things. His dummy’s only did funny stuff, an extremely talented man. Miss him.
Ok. I'm mad! Who is the guilty party 4 kidding all these rare classics? Maybe her kids? I've never seen these exclusive slamer hit great shows before! I think I just didn't watch all these particular Lucy shows. Thanks so much !!! I'll pay more attention in the future!!!!!
Considering that all the Paul Winchell and Jerry Mahoney show tapes from the 60s were appallingly destroyed it's great to see this. Brings back memories. Lucy looks good.
Can you believe those morons at Metromedia destroyed all the tapes just to make a point with Paul Winchell. I remember watching the show as a little kid and being fascinated - my favorite was Knucklehead. Every Christmas, my mom gave me a ventriloquist dummy as a gift - Danny O'Day, Mortimer Snerd, Charlie McCarthy. But I adored Knucklehead!
The full story on Wikipedia...Paul sued won his case and received a fantastic amount of money. But of course that didn't get the destroyed tapings back!
Two great professionals in their individual performance career. It is so sas the background Paul Winchell came from. It also seemed he has suffered from Mental Illnes, but to see his wonderful and above board gift of ventriloquism one would never know.
Omg if I was a kid and watching this I would have been creeped out. I never liked dolls when I was a kid. And them talking omg that is is soooo freaky lol. But now seeing it as an adult it's very cute.
How did they make the tea come out Lucy's ears? Clarification: I know this was in front of a live stage audience so there would be no CG I would think.
Ha, ha, Paul Winchell got his payback cos when Lucy said is that Muppet Paul's girlfriend or wife, by saying is that hair color from a paroxide bottle, one tease deserves another, lol.

Paul, despite his fantastic genius, and he was a genius, had severe mental illness. He had a horrible life growing up. Such a sad sad story!
What an absolute treat this was! Thanks Lucy and CBS for bringing us this episode!
“You like the boys, I gather. No I like the ones I gather” 😂😂😂
wow she really was one hell of an actress
And Lucy was good too.
Оh my, also she is a talent as a mime !!! Incredible Lucy !

Lucy's so hysterical as a life sized dummy doll! LOL

Fantastic
13:48 - If you watch closely you can see the legs (well, the pants, anyway) of the person behind the bar directing the red-headed dummy. Lol
Did you also catch what happened at 7:43 ?
@@fxcamera1 ..................... How Do They Do That Anyway?.....................

I always found those wooden dolls creepy looking 😬

6:57 - She should be grateful for that raise. At my first job, they only gave a 2% raise based on your hourly rate (which only amounted to 20 cents).
Lucy 🤩😍
I love this show
That one is my Favorite 💜💜💜
I love the way Paul called them 'a couple of 'brainless' dummies......' LOL
Cathy is basically Jerry Mahoney in drag!
Who is Cathy?
So enjoyable great
He was GREAT!!!
Funky fun! Good Show♥️🇩🇰🇺🇸😁
I remember Paul Winchell on the Dick Van Dyke staff writers for hire episode
5% on a savings account !! I need a time machine
7:43 who was operating the dummy?
FXover odds are someone behind the chairs

Paul and the BIG dummy. :-)
Lucy cutee ,talented ,beautiful, funny
😂👏👍♥️
The episode featured in the opening credits where Lucy is holding a fizzy bottle of champagne....does anyone know what episode that is?
The Lucy Show SO3E26 Lucy & The Disc Jockey. It maybe this one, she is holding a fire hose. This is another funny one, just like the rest.
It's called....Lucy and the fairlady
@@shukriahmed7166 Nope! It wasn't either title! Can't find it. Thanks anyway.
@@joannecowie3586 thanks! That's the one!!🥰
The writing is so mediocre, everything was reliant on Lucy’s talent, and she delivered.
Lucy and Gale carry this entire show on their shoulders. The writings are heavily reduced scripts for movies.
"Natural? HA!"
LOL

Not a Muppet a Marionette
Funny
Sorry - shades of Chucky! Saw it as a kid at the drive-in. Ever since then, ventriloquist's dummies moving by themselves are just too freaky.
