Toyota Thailand has officially introduced the all-new 4th Generation Toyota Yaris 2023. While the company has been working on the project for quite some time, the porotype camouflaged vehicles had already been spotted several times. Although the revised Yaris offers a more updated design because the prior model had grown somewhat antiquated in terms of looks, let’s take a deeper look at the car in this video.

The new model's appearance is more in line with the rest of the Toyota portfolio. The third generation Toyota Yaris is built on Toyota's older B-platform, which has served as the foundation for several vehicles since 2005. The DNGA-B platform is more rigid, lighter, safer, and quieter than previous platforms. It serves as the base for Toyota's B-segment products, such as the new Yaris, Subaru, and Perodua. The 4th generation Yaris sedan, at least its Thai spec, is 4425mm longer, wider, and 1480mm tall. These measurements may not differ significantly from the previous model, but the wheelbase has grown significantly. The expansion is visible in the side profile, especially with the larger window on the rear passenger door. Overall, the new model has an exquisite exterior with a sportier and more aggressive style. The influence of the current generation Camry and Corolla may be seen on the front. In addition, the new Yaris features a bigger and bolder blacked-out horizontally slated front grille and new LED headlights with L-shaped DRLs incorporated into the headlamps. The bonnet close line is designed horizontally across the width, giving the automobile a broader appearance. The bottom exterior border of the newly styled bumper is adorned with non-functional vertical air curtains, also available with fog lights. The back also receives a thorough redesign, with new sleek LED taillights and LED pulsating turn signals. The two taillights are connected by a plastic blacked-out trim, while a new bumper and trunk design retain the character lines as horizontal as possible. There is also a shark-fin antenna and a high-mount stop lamp available.
With the exterior out of the way, let's pull the car’s hood open and find out what's going on. The 1.2L 3NR-VE incorporated into the new Thai Yaris is a VVTi DOHC Naturally Aspirated 4-cylinder engine. This engine is now standard equipment on all other models in the lineup. The engine generates around 93 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 110 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. According to Toyota, the new engine complies with Euro 5 standards and has the potential to achieve a fuel economy of up to 23.3 kilometers per liter. Additionally, it is anticipated that variants of the new Yaris powered by 1.3L and 1.5L engines will be made available outside of Thailand in other countries' marketplaces. There is no confirmation, but it is speculated that the naturally aspirated 2-motor hybrid engine known as the 1.5L 3-cylinder/ M15A-FXE will be introduced later.
Other components that come as standard include electric power steering and a front suspension that combines a MacPherson strut and a stabilizer bar. At the same time, the suspension at the back is comprised of a torsion beam, coil spring, and stabilizer bar.
In interior design, the Toyota Yaris 2023 delivers a revamped look. According to Toyota, the new edition of the Yaris boasts improved driving characteristics, a quieter cabin, and reduced noise from the road. Yaris boasts an innovative and forward-thinking cabin design. It gets its ideas from other items in the same category as the model with which it shares its foundation. With sharp eyes, you can identify certain components lifted directly from the other versions. In this instance, the Toyota Raize crossover or the Perodua Ativa served as a source of creativity for the vehicle's design. The dashboard arrangement is horizontally oriented, yet it still maintains a focus on the driver, much like the external design philosophy. The upper portion of the dashboard is made of a blend of hard plastic and soft plastic. In contrast, the loaded version of the Yaris comes with a material that has a gentle touch on the sections that are accessible to the driver and the passenger. Seating is available with leather in various tones.
