    We had to do the rear u joint and the carrier bearing on our 6.0 a few months back too ... Pretty simple and easy to do with 2 sets of hands 👌

    Hey man. I have an 02 2500 longbed. It started life as a gas but was changed over to a p-pumped 24 valve. Love your videos man. I just bought a new transmission for it and am replacing the front u joint. Looking forward to rolling coal again. I do enjoy the stuff that you put out. I love my truck and enjoy the journey of knowing how to fix it. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos man. Greetings from Raeford NC.

    Decent video... however, more specifics on what techniques you used to pull the shaft, plus some close-ups on how you set up the ball joint press to drive out the joints, as well as what sized tools you used (ie, socket sizes, etc...) would have been awesome. Not complaining, its just that these things are a huge help to your viewers... which actually drives more people (lots more people) to your videos. All the best... peace!

    If your truck is a 2001 get the front rotors and caliper mounts for a 2004 but your wheels need to be 17's or bigger. The rotor is alittle bigger and makes braking feel way better

      austin scarbrough I've seen that and been thinking about it. I have to give the brakes another overhaul once I go through the system and fix it all up and I think I may do that. I was thinking about the 1 ton wheel cylinders in the rear too, but I may not do those. I think the front brake upgrades would be better.

    After you install u joints you have to hammer tap the yoke to seat the bearing thats why they are stiff

    How did you get the new joint to move freely? Thanks for taking the time to do this. '99 Cummins, 240k miles, getting an episodic clunk when in 4wd-- going to replace the u joints first, if that doesn't do it, then probably replace the chain in the TC...

      Hit around the yolks with a hammer and it will seat the ujoints and help free them up. Dont hit it hard enough to damage or bend anything, but you can give them some good love taps.

    I had to replace original u joint on my ram 2500 limited , monteith best one on of Cassopolis street in Indiana , Elkhart after 3 hours we asked what is wrong -I said you probably I installed wrong size or tech doesn’t know how to do it . I asked them to show me the damage , it was Saturday morning , someone from front desk took as to my pickup , I ve seen bunch of school graduates chatting and laughing , no supervisors . They installed wrong size which is bigger , hammered my virgin driveline they couldn’t remove original ujoint cut it and damaged by hammering ujoint home and the new one was still there. They cut original joint and hammered all around and damaged my driveline . It was not only wrong size joint , actually and unfortunately it was bigger size and the school graduate didn’t know the sequence of installation . I told at the front desk to get tips from side website or utube . I am a female I don’t want to do all mechanical work by myself but I am doing now as I have no trust to anyone . So, it was all , wrong part, wrong uneducated young school graduate not trained and no supervision at job checking a quality control of the job. It was all package , I said I trusted you , they referred they have a Wrong u joint but it is not that they have luck of everything. It is unacceptable , I ended up buying g tools and right joint and installing by myself , it is how I found that they damage my original driveline ........ you are right replace and install by yourself if you wanna do it right ! Thanks for the video , it helped me a lot ! Take care of yourself !

    Is that just a regular C clamp easiest way to do ujoints?

    • @purepanorama8484
      @purepanorama8484  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's the c clamp out of a ball joint press. Has to be from the ball joint press so the cap from the u joint can fit into the hole on the end of clamp and allow the u joint to pop out out of yoke.

    Make sure you use a mallet to tap u joints in place. That tool is a puller not installer

  • @jkline999

    Did you use loc tite on the u joint straps?

    You got stock fuel filter on that rig. I see water separator. Wtf. Tell me

    • @purepanorama8484
      @purepanorama8484  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol, yes. I've got fass platinum 150 which has water separator filter and then it runs through the stock filter. That will be changed when I find time to install some things 👌
