***** Nice. You should consider writing a book. I relate to many of your descriptions about being a loner in school and therefore starting to observe and study human behavior. If they did, could you imagine the chaos? I remember watching this series when I was 13. It got me so interested in the subject. I made me want to become a psychologist. Now I'm 18 and will graduate from school next year. I've been determined and put down effort into my school work and will (if I keep my grades relatively good), be able to get into the 5 year (+ 1 year of practice) psychology program to become a licensed psychologist. I disagree with that - simply because it's assuming that a single brain is not capable of understanding one other brain or itself only. Which would hold true. However, there are hundreds of thousands, millions even, of brains working towards completely understand one single brain. Take, for example, computers - the original computer (representing a single brain) could only do simple math problems. I'm here coz I love psychology and also I don't have to remember all this and write and exam so I don't have to stress myself (it's better when we are learning out of curiosity and not coz we have to)
I have a sort of "learning disability" where it takes me longer to process and act on some types of information and quicker than usual to process and act on other types of information. It's actually more of a "learning difference" than disability. There have been times when I've been able to figure out a situation before everyone else does and they're like "how the hell did he figure it out?", yet when I was learning to drive, I failed the driving test three times! I'm looking into psychology because I really want to understand how my mind works. I want to know myself better!
I watched this video for the first time in my final year of highschool when i was struggling to figure out what i wanted to do with the rest if my life. This video made me want to learn more about the subject and I am proud to say that 6 years later i have just graduated with an honors degree in applied psychology. I have watched this video, and all the others in the series many times over the past few years and i wish i could thank hank personally for making the dense topic of psychology fun to learn and easy to digest. I am going to take a break from studying for a year or two to go out and work in the filed but i will come back and edit this comment in a few years time when i get my doctorate in clinic psychology. Thanks hank!

I am autistic (high-functioning with Aspergers) as well. Unfortunately, the past few years i have been plagued with completely separate new things and neurological conditions includin depression, OCD and other anxiety disorders, possible schizophrenia, and an array of physical things that is not relevant. As a result of the many things I have albeit they are very bad, they have made me VERY interested in the human mind and wanting to learn more about these things, the very things I can relate to so much. I am currently enrolled in AP Psychology at my high school, and this whole series might also help me study for that AP Exam of course. I have already watched the videos on the mental disorders, but have decided to watch EVERY video in this series, starting with this. I admire your similar goal. I say Crash Course does a darn good job with their series's.. Sorry for the rant though
This series fueled my love for Psychology as a high schooler and now I am in my second semester of my psych major! Thanks for helping me find my passion :')
14 year old here! I’m not in high school yet, still in 8th grade. I’ve always wanted to be a journalist, and i had a plan to major in journalism at USC, Emerson College, or NYU. I’ve always loved to write and I’m very interested in politics and talking to people. But, recently I took a liking to psychology. I’ve always been slightly interested in it but now I’m really considering becoming a clinical psychologist. Idk what to pick, I know I have a ton of time still but it’s kinda overwhelming 😂 I feel a calling in both fields, so we’ll see what I end up picking. I picked journalism as one of my courses in high school so I’ll see how I like it. Best of luck to everyone! xx
I'm so glad that these are here! I want to be a psychologist or a psychiatrist in the future and I wanted to go ahead and start learning early so now I can watch these!
Psychology is honestly so interesting. I want to be a lawyer when I grow up but I'm probably going to study psychology too. Hopefully, I can pass the rest of middle school and high school well enough to get into a good college.

I agree! Personally, if I were to be a teacher (Which I have debated on before) I would probably minor in psychology. I feel like if teachers were required to have psychology as a minor or at least have to have taken several psychology classes (Or at least intro and something like educational or developmental psychology) schools would be a bit better.

I just graduated this past June and I didn't go away to university because I never knew what I wanted to take, but watching all these crash course videos on all the things I would be interested have really helped me narrow down what I want to go to uni for next fall! :)
Just found this channel and the only thing I can say is: wow Everything is perfect! The content, the teacher's humour and explanations, I can even understand every little word he says and English is not my native language... Wow!
Be warned, if you want to study this. There is a LOT to remember, no joke. It is just painful remembering all that information. So if you want to study it, you gotta be committed. From an A Level student.
Psychology can be easy for some and hard for others so I cannot answer that question for you. But if you are committed and capable of remembering a lot of information, go ahead. But to give you the topics I am doing, these were; Biopsychology, Attachments, Memory, Social Influence, Psychopathology, Approaches to Psychology, Research Methods, Relationships, Forensic Psychology, and Schizophrenia.
At first, I thought the joke was that readers would click on "Read more" until two minutes later, I realized it said "Read again." Then I spent another few minutes figuring out why I was supposed to read it again. Some days I think I'm fairly intelligent, and most other days... Touché, man, touché.
I'm a visual learner, so your videos really help me to remember my studies by using my reading and video's together. Thank you so much for developing videos for us that next extra support in learning. Can't wait to use your other videos on other subjects.

Χαφσά hafsa personally I really enjoyed it. I learned a lot about the way people think and it was very useful in everyday life. I really recommend it even though it was ALOT of reading at my school and the work was intensive but that’s expected out of an AP class. I definitely think it’s worth it however. Good luck! I got a 5 on the AP test and so can you.

A fascinating video that truly helps us try to grasp the extent of the complexity of the human mind. I've always been curious about how our mind functions and this was a great start to this journey of discovery about the science of psychology. A truly commendable aspect of this field is that all people practicing psychology did not confine themselves within any rigid schools of thoughts and came forward with vastly differing theories which all attempted to unlock parts of our brain and how it functions. The amazing part is that all these theories are still extant today and have been the building block of modern psychological practices. Another interesting aspect of this video was the in-depth analysis of how Sigmund Freud came up with his theories. All of his theories had always seemed a tad bit shocking but he was definitely a great thinker and truly revolutionized this field as he didn't allow his ideas to be circumscribed by the general thinking of people around him.
I'm here as a 12 year old middle school student, this seems REALLY interesting to me and I want to do a lot of my own discovery to see if this is my passion before high school and college. I'm exited to watch the rest!

If anyone here is college student learning Psychology here are some tips :
As a psychologist. I believe that my patients should feel comfortable with my questions and try to get more free and comfortable talking to me with the time. I treat them like my friends. Because I myself have been through a lot of mental pressure when I was a child. Everyone around me was under mass depression and I started learning how to help people.

My psychology teacher is having us watch this! I've been watching Crash Course in my free time, but now I get to watch it for homework :D
Musicyay12 No, not really. The material itself isn't too difficult, but there's a lot of papers and a lot of reading involved. It might be different depending on the teacher though.

WELL, YOU ALL ARE SO LUCKY!!!!!!!!! I'm not.
exactly why I don't goto college
I have a sort of "learning disability" where it takes me longer to process and act on some types of information and quicker than usual to process and act on other types of information. It's actually more of a "learning difference" than disability. There have been times when I've been able to figure out a situation before everyone else does and they're like "how the hell did he figure it out?", yet when I was learning to drive, I failed the driving test three times!
I'm looking into psychology because I really want to understand how my mind works. I want to know myself better!
honestly me too!!
Here's an observation... Everyone takes so much pride in watching videos about psychology in their leisure time, it's quite interesting... hmmm

I'm Autistic, and I've decided that perhaps I might understand people better if I knew how people think. Let's see how this theory works out.
It might
I am autistic (high-functioning with Aspergers) as well.
Or your might understand them more than they do, and confuse or scare them.

Dude! I'm a PSYCHOLOGY MAJOR & I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT THE CHINESE THING! Hank & John, I LOVE you for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TigerLily Heads up, psychiatrists just focus on medicine to treat mental illness and symptoms. It's all medicine, not too much psychology.

I agree! Personally, if I were to be a teacher (Which I have debated on before) I would probably minor in psychology. Just found this channel and the only thing I can say is: wow
Everything is perfect! The content, the teacher's humour and explanations, I can even understand every little word he says and English is not my native language... Wow!
Be warned, if you want to study this. There is a LOT to remember, no joke. It is just painful remembering all that information. So if you want to study it, you gotta be committed. From an A Level student.
Alexander Anderson seriously? is it that hard? could you give an example please.
What if ur taking a 2 week class
Notes, notes and more notes. Then drilling those notes into your head, then rewrite them again.

It's strange how the the brain doesn't recognize the second "the" after the first "the".

At first, I thought the joke was that readers would click on "Read more" until two minutes later, I realized it said "Read again." Then I spent another few minutes figuring out why I was supposed to read it again. Some days I think I'm fairly intelligent, and most other days... Touché, man, touché.

bro same. i'm just doing whatever i can to relearn everything lol
Crash course is the best channel for me!!!😍
A fascinating video that truly helps us try to grasp the extent of the complexity of the human mind.
Im watching this bc procrastination man. Who needs to do chemistry and write and essay when you can watch psychology videos
