That awkward moment when a guy on the internet is a better teacher than your Psychology professor who has a Doctorate in the field. Hank, I could not pass this course without you. Thanks.
“Dear Hank, I think that you should maybe consider removing your hand from the burner, I mean, it doesn’t really feel good, you know what I mean? I love you. Love, endocrine system.”
These crash courses are a godsend for those with ADHD. The visuals really enforce the absorption of the information by keeping my brain stimulated and engaged. The screaming helped too lol. Thank you for the lesson!

I am a first time college student and aspiring psychologist. I just wanted to say that your videos are fantastic and really help me as, my psych professor lectures her classes in a way that makes me want to fall asleep and she talks so fast and rambles so much that I'm never quite sure when she's transitioning into another topic. Love the way you describe the facts.
"But there is one gland that rules them all... and in the darkness binds them" I love Hank Green. I'm a sophomore in college studying business and the humanities, and instead of studying topics relevant to my fields, I watch crash course videos for the sole purpose of hearing Hank Green's jokes. Let's all be grateful for Hank; the world would be an unfathomably worse place without him.
50% speed and he litterally sounds drunk. It's the best thing ever, I should watch all of his videos like this. I guess all you need to be coherent and smart sounding is by sounding drunk and speed up your voice
Taking a Biopsychology class right now for spring term and this really helps condense what we're learning in class into a easy way of learning the info. And you scared the heck out of me, Hank.
Your little "scare" reminded me of my college roommate, Steve. Shortly after we became roommates, I was in the shower one morning. I had just finished my shower and had taken my towel off the shower door to dry myself off. Just then the shower door opened and there was Steve in boxer shorts, a t-shirt with eyeholes cut in it over his head and a large butcher's knife in his hand. Rather than scream, I paused for a second and then calmly said, "Good morning, Steve."
DeHerg I was just minding my own business, Steve was the weird one. Just saying, "Good morning, Steve," kept him from bothering me again. One time he said that the Mafia was after him for gambling debts. I don't know whether to believe that or not. One time he ripped out all the pages of a Bible and taped them to the walls and ceiling in the hallway of our suite. Each suite had six dorm rooms (one single and five doubles), two bathrooms, a common room with two couches, mini-fridge, two burner electric range, counter and storage space. Our suite became known as the "Art Suite" since we had so many art majors in our suite. One of my suite-mates was my Best Man at both of my weddings.
1. DON'T DO THAT AGAIN-LIKE EVER! 2. Thanks for doing this guys. My financial aid got messed up & I'm kinda stuck at home now. But thanks to CrashCourse Psychology & Lit, I don't feel like I'm wasting my time or missing out on anything. 3. Thank you for making the anatomy portion of psychology MUCH easier to digest. (Although I still feel like I should be taking notes!) 4. I NEED YOUR SHIRT HANK!
Sorry but what you had in store for your sandwich was way worse. You were about to shred it to pieces WITH YOUR MOUTH like the sick s.o.b you are and then swallow it! **almost pukes** **makes sign of the cross** What's wrong with you?

Apparently you're not alone, I looked away just before the scream as well. It didn't scare me per se, but it definitely made me look back because of how unexpected it was. I'm just glad I wasn't using headphones like I usually do...

Actually, there's a flight, fight and freeze reaction. Freeze is often forgotten, but just think of a deer in headlights or "playing dead". And serotonin can be related to different anxieties as well. Like, for example, if I take sertraline (increases serotonin levels) it could help with not only my depression but my social phobia as well! Or any other anxiety disorder that I may or may not have in this scenario
I wish this was shown to me during anatomy and physiology class I took last year. This was by far the most complex thing in that class, and this video explained weeks work of information that I understand far more than I ever did rather than just shortly memorizing the information.
I'm glad he got this part of "psychological is biological" out of the way. It generally gets my goat when people claim the mind is immaterial because we "think of immaterial things" (despite we haven't proven those ideas are in any way existing outside of our personal bias). I will think the mind is immaterial once we have an instance of mind without a body that we can observe and say "yeah, it's intelligent and interacting, but it lacks a body to maintain it"
Unless it interacted with our physical plain in some way. I have no interest in learning about any sort of immaterial "mind" that exists in our plane of existence and isn't willing to show itself. Because if it isn't willing to show itself, and there is no way of understanding it, in any way whatsoever, then we might as well dismiss it as non-existent as even those who claim it to be real have no real proof of its existence. I believe in things for which there is evidence, because the immaterial presents no evidence, and affects the physical world in no way, therefore, it is of no consequence to our lives, unless you assume it to be true and decide to go purely on that "gut" feeling which is about as reliable as a baseball bat made of liquid water.
You're helping me pass Intro to Psychology. Thank You. I am gonna check out some of your other videos. Thank You again. You matter so much. Keep it up. I doubt you'll ever see this comment. But you rock. THANKS

i like to study while i run. when he screamed i literally almost flew off the back of the treadmill.

My dog jumped up and looked at me in judgement
I had headphones on and sadly on the max..volume. 🙄 Wasn't a very nice feeling 😑
