I like to use DeliverThat as a giant filler during the pre-lunch period before lunch rush. Also, you need to start carrying things like matches, water, extra bags, and like Mike Said a cart for most orders. I have completed 100 caterings and they can take anywhere from 5-30 minutes to set up and you need to maintain professionalism because you are setting up for high level clients. Always remember to dress well and be presentable
THANKS FOR THE COMMENT, GREAT INFO. Q: DO YOU HAVE TO WEAR THAT BLUE POLO SHIRT? as an independent contractor i may want to do several platforms during my day. Having to wear that shirt makes me feel I'm wearing a uniform and if I deliver for Doordash right after a drop-off I would have to change shirts. Thanks.
@@kerwinalexander6836no you don’t need to wear a DT shirt
But you aren’t paid as an employee. You only get around $10 to do all that while wearing out your vehicle with the hope you get a decent tip. No thanks
How much would you say you got paid per order (Average)?
I did my first DT order last week, and they didnt require me to set it up banquet style, i just set the bags down, took a pic, and got a nice tip! i stuck around to see if they gave me a hint if they wanted me to set it up, but it didnt seem so...i didnt think they would want me to touch their food anyway
Thank you for the in-depth review Mike! Great point in terms of the equipment being a business expense. The wagons are a MUST in a ton of scenarios. Can't wait to see what happened on your first delivery!
Too bad your business philosophy is backwards. If you expect drivers to pay all these upfront costs, at least show the drivers better paying orders as a promo to get new drivers hooked instead of delivering garbage orders in hopes for potential better orders if drivers do a "good job". Remember you are competing your my time with other gig apps.
Also using socialist pay structures like tip pool is not going to entice new drivers. Sharing tips isn't how the gig economy works.
Coming soon guys!
Also you don’t know what you’re making before you accept the order. It’s a gamble but you’re assuming the pay is good because of the very nature it’s a catering order.
@new1old That's why you accept it first, and then you can see the details. If it's not good, offer it to another driver. Again, another reason why these catering apps are crooked and in cahoots with each other.
@@Rational_Driver yes I know the process. Been doing gig work for many many years. Just letting Mike know what to expect since he’s new to DeliverThat
I worked for a local catering company and I put the soft side delivery bags into a larger tote with a lid. Stacked them up to 4 high if needed, used a couple bungee cords and a hand cart. I never failed to amaze myself at how much I could get in one trip. My rule of thumb was one trip only!! You also need a lighter with a long stem to light the sterno and it took me on average 15 minutes to setup. Understand and expect that the places you are delivering to will NOT help you with the set up. You may have to move some tables around. You will most definitely have to get the water you need to put in the bottom of your pans to keep the food hot. I also used hard sided insulated Cambro totes. The hard sided containers make it easier to transport on a dolly or hand cart. Hope this helps. I’m interested to see how the tip pool works on this. EZ cater is hands down the largest and easiest platform for businesses, pharmaceutical reps etc. to order from.
$ to miles ratios on these orders are amazing actually
Great video Mike. I usually have this app open, bur when i get an offer, its already gone
I use deliver that, in the north hills area of Pittsburgh(cranberry twp) I always get at least 30 for each order. It's a great filler for running lunch shifts. I haven't done stacks, or an order over 965. Overall, it's really good, imo.
5:20 do they require a food workers card? Because their little promo video shows a serving spoon laid across an own tray of food and being in that close contact with ready to eat food they really should.
Always accept an order to see the payout totals. You will have 30 minutes to look it over and if it doesn’t make sense to you you can drop it. The tip pool from ezCater orders range from $21-$27. During the holiday rush I got over $27. There other orders that are not tip pooled that are not from ezCater just like the example you had from that restaurant, that was not an ezCater order which could mean the tip could’ve been huge.
This pretty much covers it! Lol Thank you Adam
Hi! I am new to the platform. Can you accept as many orders as you want as long as you drop within 30 minutes? They don’t have a penalty for dropping too many orders?
One con for me is that it is hard to grab an order but once you get a few done they start feeding you more and more
You have to accept 1st then you get driver commission....then tip pool...21-25......3 tiers...of drivers...enjoy
I don’t know what’s going on with this app. I took the quiz and did well went to the next step an never to take pics of my bags or buy some from DeliverThat I said I will purchase my own from Amazon so I had to comeback am retake the test once I got them but now the same answers I out in Newfie it’s saying it’s wrong wth I need help here 😠 this is insane
Did 3 deliveries so far with deliverthat. I made about 100 so far so averages out to around 30-40 dollars per delivery.
Is this available nation wide?
DeliverThat is amazing!
In the area that I am in, people instantly accept the order, check the details, then drop it. It then gets picked back up immediately, rinse repeat. Its hard to grab an order sometimes.
@justinwrich87 really? Is it consistent any day?
1:56 I didn't have to pay for the background check. I'm assuming it's because my check was done recently for another platform.
That’s correct, specially if one does ride share, we can use either lyft or Uber rideshare background and that works 👍
I went to my state DOT and got the MVR for $5, sent it in, and they accepted it.
We do accept current MVR's. You do not have to purchase anything from us if you already have the items readily available
Mvr?
@@DeliverThat I am in the registration process. I purchased the catering bags and sent off my MVR to the recruiting agent, but I have not heard back from DeliverThat. Is this normal? How long does it take to get approved and complete registration??
I drive for the DMV area. Im pissed I signed up February 2023 and didn’t start getting active until September BUT its been the best side hustle for me so far. I wish that had a better hold of bots auto accepting jobs and drivers that have 25 or more deliveries should have more opportunities to gain work.
Are you still driving for Deliver That? If so, how many deliveries do you receive in a day?
You can accept the order and they give you 10 minutes to drop it without having to contact them so within that 10 minutes you can see the pay per mile and tip or pooled tip if it’s an ezcater. So i found it better to just automatically accept any offer giving see what the pay is and If don’t like it I just unassigned it
30 minutes not 10 minutes
@@adamgwin81 even better tbh 😭
Hi! I am new to the platform. Can you accept as many orders as you want as long as you drop within 30 minutes? They don’t have a penalty for dropping too many orders?
Ez cater is keeping tips like DoorDash typically 5% - 10% is average. I have had several orders with no tip at all and small tips are not unusual. Yes, get the wagon and consider a folding hand truck.
I don't think this is true. Do you have any evidence?
@justinwrich87 yes. I literally had a ez cater order where the restaurant stapled the receipt to the bag. $35 tip.
What I got... $0
Things like this have been posted several times in the past and in my local chat groups also.
I also had an order that support claimed glitches. It showed me one amount on acceptance. When I delivered it was a lesser amount (someone took part of that tip in the time after I accepted until I delivered)
Because I didn't 'have a screenshot proof of the order' I was SOL. Always quickly get a screenshot of orders especially high visible payout ones.
Nola Grind does deliver that all the time and seems to like it
Nola Grind is a great guy!
I just signed up. Trying to figure out if should by their bags or get my own.
Not sure how consistent they are
So I applied I took the quiz, I guess I got one of the answers wrong on the quiz and I failed.
It allowed me another chance to retake the quiz.
I think I fixed my error.
I saw a green checkmark display on my screen and it said they would reach out to me shortly...
Does that mean I passed?
I have not gotten a follow up email yet...
Can u use E scooters for this app?
I attempted to get onto DeliverThat. Requires passing a quiz. I know for certain that the answers were correct. They told me that both attempts were not passing. What do I have to do, Mike?? Thanks in advance.
There are two videos you need to watch. There are very particular answers to the questions they ask. I didn’t pass until I watched the second video I hadn’t noticed
@@charlesramsey2129 I watched both videos on my laptop AND did each section of questions immediately. I know, absolutely, that the questions were answered correctly.
The best deliveries I make is DoorDash catering to a business.
Good evening how much is the background fee?
Found out by listening to your video lol!
I couldn’t pass the test because the verbiage in the video did not match the verbiage on the test.. 😢
The minimum I have got paid for 1 ezcater with tip pool has been $31 with the base pay. I did my firts stack 2 weeks ago took 1hr got paid $89 for both
I make that with DoorDash catering without all the extra work.
It's not in my area yet
Yall know that one employee super Karen to the 10 th power will come out and try to direct you on how to set up the food even though yall know how to set up the food. I see buildings entrances being closed having to walk 80 more miles.
No, because it is not available everywhere. Yes, they are in a lot of metro's as they called it, but not in my specific area on Long Island.
Came here interested as a fellow LI resident, I feel like a lot of these side hustles don't make their way to us!
Their tipping process is not transparent...which opens a door to shenanigans. Also their pre-tip and post tip process need to be streamlined. Why do I as a driver who has no relationship with a business I'm delivering to have to awkwardly ask them for a tip and then print off a piece of document for them to sign? That's a bit much
If they had problems tipping, just require it
Currently in the process of registration. Sure takes a long time to get activated. Their tip protocol sounds weird.
Didn't take me that long. I was activated within 2 hours.
WELL... it's been about 2weeks for me@@SNARC15
Seems like too much hassle for too low pay for me
The most major concern is that they pool the tips. I use to work valet and obviously management used to skim a large chunk off the top before dividing it up. It may seem unfair if someone gets lucky and makes more tips than you in a single day, but over time everyone will get lucky orders/ tips and the variance will equal out. Tip pools were created solely to steal workers tips. There's also no incentive to take big orders, if tips are distributed based on quantity of orders delivered vs qualitative factors such as basket size, drive time, set up time etc drivers will get screwed. Definitely seems like a bottle neck to the business, the largest orders will not be delivered timely as drivers become educated to platfor and will refuse to deliver larger orders.
That is only for ezCater orders. They do have other orders that are not from ezCater that can huge payouts. I like the tip pool because it safeguards from a no tipping order and you are guaranteed that amount.
Perhaps but yoir still getting robbed
@@adamgwin81do you know if it's a ezcater order before yoi accept it?
@@keylatellez8054 yes on the ID number it will say ezCater, for example ezCater_ABC123
KEY...No it's accrpt 1st (as quickly as possible...kinda disappear like great unicorn IC orders).
With DT. It's accrpt 1st then evaluate time, payouts, distance. Meets your criteria order is yours. If not pass it back
Only thing with DT..3 levels of drivers & if your new, you can only do 1 order a day...and 2 tiers of drivers Hage seen the orders...which leaves you the last of the last...did 2 Christmas week & one last Sunday so I'm at a big 3 orders.
Good luck 👍
For Deliverthat you don't know how much you make until the week after when you get paid if it's an ezcater order
6:50 Makes me worry about an app that spells farther as father. Maybe they are talking about driving someones dad I could be wrong
LOL! Thank you for pointing this out
oh heck no
Don't stack them....they will snatch the DeliverThat from yah later
I’ve never had a problem with that. Matter of fact I have a stacked today.
You cannot always stack. They have rules on times and dollar amounts. I have 14 catering bags and have taken orders that used them all. One maybe 2 trays per bag at most or you risk destroying food. They generally don't have hard solid tops.
Most apps are dispatched by EZCater. They will know If you are doubling up
Nahhhhhh
This is basically Paraworks with extra BS
I sent you an email with news about the Gig businesses that I believe you'll want to know & share. Thanks for your work! -amahoney
Hi Mike, I Love Catering deliveries it’s a Awesome side hustle. I use it to offset my pension. I do Catering with 3 different Catering companies. Fresh Kitchen is the best hands down it’s in Florida pays out the most average $50-$110 I have made over $200 a few times. Then I like dlivrd second it’s easier to get a order then deliver that to me. It depends on your market. I’m very Grateful to all the Catering apps it’s a true Blessing for me! I usually make $300-$500 per week in catering. 😃🙌🏽
I’m in Florida too. How to I sign up for Fresh Kitchen
Only 300-500 a week? How much per day and how many hours does it take?
You don't mention how hard it is to get an order😮, the phone sounds, you see nothing
