Yep, that's what I do. That way they're easier to carry (in the pizza bag) and less chance of dropping those circular containers. I will also sometimes use my pizza bag to carry a small box of Chinese food when it's a non-catering order and won't fit into a regular bag.
First, it seems as if there’s EzCater & non-EzCater orders. With EzCater orders, we get tips from the tip pool. The non-EzCater orders, we can get $0-$50+ tip (whatever they want to tip, or percentage of what they spent). So the non-EzCater orders we get 100% of the tip from our own delivery, instead of it going to a tip pool (which could be bad if they give a minimal tip or really good if you get a $600 order & they give a $120 tip)!
It seems that the restaurant was expecting to get half of the tip, for the work you did - which seems not right, there should be an order tip for the restaurant & then a delivery tip for the driver.
Is'nt that the same with DD, if the customer orders through the chipolte website and then chipolte uses us to deliver vs the customer ordering straight through DD.

I signed up for DeliverThat and got approved but I haven't made my first delivery yet, thanks for making this informative video. Looks like the restaurant wanted to keep some of the tips for their employees for this particular delivery.

I want to pick up something and deliver it with no added stuff to worry about. Do you have any videos on Medical Courier and/ or package delivery side hustles? I'm an Uber driver so I'm their delivery and connect services. I'm subscribed to your channel as well.😀
To save yourself a headache, just stay away from the orders with no gratuity listed. If its ezCater, you get tip pool, if its direct, you get the full tip if provided upfront. Way too much of a headache needing to request reimbursement after the fact. I just want to pick up, deliver, and have my money ready to go 😂
Idk about your area but I'm in Miami Florida and the amount of people who do side hustles here is insane. I don't get the luxury of picking between orders. They pop up and I have to click it in under a second to even get a chance to see it. I have to leave my phone on the app and just stare at it until an order comes in. Thats on top that I have to have the app open the day before around 7PM hoping an order comes in. So, a link and a quick picture isn't terrible to get the full tips.
I don’t either. I’m in Columbus, OH. I just got signed up and haven’t even received my bags yet. But I got the app set up and tried to play around a bit to familiarize myself. What struck me right away was zero orders, and when orders came in, they went “poof!” Just gone, and a msg saying someone already picked it up. It makes you feel like you’re on a game show trying to hit the buzzer first! I started wondering if it’s even worth the stress? I went full time gig economy recently because of constant unrelenting stress in traditional workplaces. Do I really want the stress of orders slipping through my fingers because someone was .1 second faster? Needs to be a more fair disbursement of orders.
I did 3 deliverthat orders so far. 2 of them did not require signing an invoice but the last one did. However the restaurant refused to give out the invoice. Also food came out about 20 mins late. It was a mess.luckily the support representative helped me out what to do

again, i couldn't. the manager to the restaurant said they were told not to give out those invoice or receipt to drivers. so I told the deliverthat support team. they just told me to start delivering without it. they said they will take care of it. i got $10 for tip and $5 for waiting 20mins from deliverthat after the completion of delivery. i love deliverthat. very professional whereas Uber always tries to blame the drivers even for their mistakes...
Yes absolutely set it up
In fact, DeliverThat has monthly contest on the best set up process. In addition to that their partners such as EZGO catering, have stipulated contracts, that state set up will be done by the delivery person. So, please make sure you were doing this

Honestly, most of the places I deliver to want to set up themselves. Or it's a restricted access building, and I'm not even allowed past the lobby.
wow 😮. Glad I watched this. I got an offer yesterday for 11 miles $350 in food no tip. I passed. Door Dash Large Order Program is better but has dried up.

This app is supposedly created by delivery drivers. And we know that a lot of these customers have no idea how these apps work. So they need to make it more customer, friendly, and less of a headache for the drivers.
I don’t see this platform being very popular with how complicated everything about it is.
I mean it seems like its catered for genz and millennials. I had no problem following the full process with deliverthat
If you get like 4 orders in a day though, it adds up big time. Especially the over $600 orders. I did alot of em.
DeliverThat: Welcome to the sign up process. We will need all your info as well as your cat's blood type. We also need to know what hand you wipe with. After we have everything, we will make things so unorganized and complicated that you will have an average of 34 questions an order. Please make sure to keep everything organized on your end and make the process easy for the customer though.

Yep. That's deliver that lol. Give Doordash all the crap you want, but at least their app is user-friendly and consistent with the ability to see your pay and cash out same day 😊
It's possible to get very low pay orders so keep an eye on that. I signed up and my first offer only paid about $11. I unassigned it and havent been able to get many offers since.

This would've been just $9ish dollars without that tip. Is that how the tipping process usually is because I feel like it should be much easier?
@YourDriverMike I'm not completely sure. On this order it said $0 for gratuity. DeliverThat confirmed it's possible that would be the pay unless a cash tip was provided.
However I also saw another order that was apparently an "EzCater" order and I was told those orders are different because they have the tip pool, which guarantees you a gratuity between $21-$27 on each ezCater order you take.
Im guessing these are the 2 scenarios, EzCater orders and non EzCater orders. One having the tip pool while the other is an already added tip or cash tip. Not completely sure
I see base pay of $8-10 for orders $300 and below, base pay of $17-18 for orders in the $800-990 range. Then there is the EZCater tip pool (or direct partner customer wildcard tip) on top
@@YourDriverMike no, on non ezcater jobs you get the tip listed that’s why you got the notice that you violated their policy. However because DT is generally inconsistent and their policies are in a constant stake of flux they gave you the tip as well. You’re gonna get the white glove touch being a social media influencer
Hi Mike, Always good content that you make. I tried signing up, but could not pass the test quiz. I am pretty sure that it was the last part of the test where there were 3 questions regarding the late and cancelation policies. Any insights you can offer?

Just rewind the video and dont look at the screen, when the rep is speaking his learning tutorial read the question and listen, I had to push the tab back a couple of times and listen while Im reading the question. You will pass 100% just apply again.
Do you have clarification on the procedure to guarantee you get your tip? It seems they went ahead and granted you the $30 tip to compensate for beginner error even though the proper procedure wasn't followed, but what is the proper procedure? I still don't fully understand.

As I understand, you don’t need an invoice to sign for ezcater orders but you must obtain an invoice if it’s direct partner orders
If the delivery is not pre-tipped, yes!
Pro tip: You don't alwasy have to set up. Only if the custoer requests it: I've been doing this 2 weeks and all my order have been "hand it to me" or "leave at my door/desk"
Thats why quit, to complicated. One time I went to a pick up a long way, and as soon as I got there it was canceled. I took me 3 weeks to get a partial payment.

I'm driving Thursday-Sunday from 5pm till 1am + Saturday brunch 11am -2pm, is it even make sense to try to do Deliver That in those hours? Business are closed...

I've never had someone added a tip manually. I always get about 27+ gratuity for each order.
How much time to knock out an order from start to finish? Is the cloth you leave on the table for them to dispose of too? I was wondering that lol

Just take a picture of food that fits on your screen. People, please don't make this so complicated. One pic, two signatures that's it. In and out.
Makes sense but what if the set up just can't fit in one picture? DT recommended taking pictures outside of the app and just uploading those
@YourDriverMike I've been on DT for 2 years and I never had a problem. I just take a pic of most of the order. If you like you can text them that the rest of the it can't fit. That's usually acceptable.
You just go back in and add more pics
For me I get a notification of an offer and its already gone when I click on it. As in I am talking within 5 seconds. This and dispatch has been a waste of money for me.
why would the restaurant get any of the tips? They got paid for the food and the cook is on salary. TIPS are for a service you provide in addition to the food. You delivered it and you set it up. That tip was for you not the restaurant. What I got from this is that that restaurant had you use their invoice and wanted you to text them because they wanted to take half your tips. If you didn't hit up deliverthat. they would have submit just 15 and pocket the rest for nothing. Good stuff in submitting that and I encourage everyone else to always do the same.
Most DT orders in my market are EZCater and those orders are tip pool which averages $24

I applied they denied me even though I do have Catering experience. I've been driving for 3 years and they said "you ain't a good fit"

I cant help but feel like the Tipping process is intentionally inefficient. From the video, i can understand the Direct Partner / Non Partner tips, sure why not, but, the fact that there was the initial DENIAL for your Tip? It just leaves a bad impression for me lersonally.
It makes me wonder, how many Drivers have not gotten Tips from how complicated this process seems?
You know what I wish would happen for fodd delivery apps/gigs? Mandatory 15-20% Tip. Dont even let the customer choose "No Tip" but incan only.imagine how well that would go. Maybe make the mandatory tips order go to seasoned drivers / drivers who have completes X number of Trips so customers dont think its just someone first time delivering. Could anything feasible like that realistically happen?
That would have to be done by the restaurants. We can't institute a % tip to a customer that isn't ours.

I would like to know how easy it is to sign up on deliverthat and what app do you use after signing up? i assume you use the deliverthat driver app? please do one more shift showing you making money from the tip pool on a ezcater order for deliverthat and explain how that works because i would like to sign up in my marketplace in march. when you are accepting an order how do you know it is an ezcater order vs a direct partner delivery order?? thanks as always for the amazing videos
The order ID prefix will tell you what kind of delivery you're taking. Any ezCater order will begin with ezCater_, while Direct Partner deliveries will have something in line with the brand you'll be delivering for. In this instance, "DB_" was for DiBella's

From everything Ive seen from them, its a total shitshow. They dangle a carrot in front of you to do the work and then switch it up on you. Pretty sure that $30 tip will go into the tip pool with everyone else's tips and divided amongst everyone averaging that $21 to $27 nonsense. Created by drivers, for drivers. Yeah what driver ever wanted this mess?

This is a brand new partnership for us so I believe there was just some confusion with this store location in how things were supposed to operate.

You have to 1st accept asap...then review $$$$. Totally different ...opposite all other apps.. 1st accept...the review.
Sounds easy to remove as you got 10mins it seems. That explains why they want drivers available 1 hr before and 25 mins before pick up. Correct me if Im wrong.

If you didn't miss any questions on onboarding I would definitely continue to follow up with support. Even if you miss questions you can just retake their onboarding test right?
You can retake the test but you have to wait like 20 to 30 days before you able to retake
I had a similar experience. I diligently watched the videos and took the quiz, but somehow failed both times. I was shocked. Maybe I really did miss something, but it seemed quite odd. I was done with deliver that by that point, so I never reached out to support.
@@benmatthews7201 My advice is dont litterally watch the video, just read the questions and listen to him talk, no reason to miss one single question at all. Do not guess and move the cursor back to to make sure he answers the question 100% before you check the answer. Its a test to weed out people that cant follow instructions is what I assume lol. I assume they don't want to mess around 900 dollar orders.

@@DeliverThat then how come on Doordash whenever i do DeliverThat orders I'm only getting a 15 dollar tip when the orginal tip was supposed to be 150? aren't you guys also part of ezcater which stole a huge amount from me last time.. I was supposed to be receiving 60 when the customer actually ADDED an extra 40 through ezcater to the driver because they changed the address which I never saw nothing of it just the 15 dollars.
I've been on their app for 6 months and love it. Puts DD and Uber to shame.
