    Hey kev, got my Express impress yesterday and unpacked everything. Tried my first flat white with the sage and it worked somehow, also the dial in took very long but I think I found a good level of espresso.
    I was wondering if you can make a video of the cleaning process of the impress after you’ve done with making your coffee. Beside The cleaning cycle , which is not for everyday I think. So I want to see what somebody else is doing when turning off and cleaning. Im afraid of missing some step in the end.
    Thanks and keep going 💯💪🏼

      Hi Alex,
      That's a great idea, I will film that, in the mean time on a daily basis I'd recommend purging hot water through the group then wiping the shower screen with a damp cloth, and making sure the steam wand is nice and clean.

    I almost do the same cleaning but I run a rinse with no portafilter in so the water can take some coffe grinds of the water difusion screen (the one closets to the coffe when brewing) as there is always coffe grinds on it and I don't want that to go back into the machine and then I run the backflush cleaning with tablett and after that I take the portafilter away and clean it and run run a single shot of water to get the last cleaning cemicals out and wipe the water diffuser scren and then insert the portafilter an run a backflus rinse.

    Hi Kevin, just wondering is it normal that the bottom of the machine(where we put tray in) is full of water after cleaning process. Machine is new I got it in Jan this year, so I’m a bit concerned!
    Also is it different from descaling where you put powder in the tank?
    One last question sorry… Is it ok if I didn’t put water filter thing in during cleaning process.
    Thanks Kev 🙏🏼❤️

    • @Coffee_Kev
      @Coffee_Kev  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The cleaning cycle is the back flush cycle, so the basket with the silicone cleaning disk needs to go in the portafilter. If you have a disk with a hole, you'll need a bowl under the portafilter. If the disk has no hole you don't need that, all the water enters the drip tray internally via the solenoid.

    • @mysapphirestar
      @mysapphirestar ปีที่แล้ว

      If you haven't already worked it out, it could be that you need to replace the gasket. The pressure builds up in the portafilter because it's blocked by the cleaning disc and this will put a strain on a worn gasket. The manual tells you how and replacement parts are available from Sage Breville.

    • @TheYahwehWizard
      @TheYahwehWizard ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mysapphirestar Thank you for taking the time to write a reply. So the gasket had actually dislodged itself. I replaced it (which I've done before no problem). Gasket was the same size. Everything seems to be put back together correctly. But the portafilter is not as tight as it used to be and I'm getting problems with pressure and still some leaking. I've been meaning to contact Sage about it, but you know how these things fall to the bottom of your list sometimes

    Hello, thanks for this video. One quick question please. I suppose the backflush light comes on after a number of servings (times you click 1 dose or 2 doses). I guess it counts also when we backflush with water after each serving to clean the head and the portafilter right?

    Hi, just got a Sage Barista Express and have some doubts regarding the pressure when backflushing. Basically it never tops out (like some other video) and always goes around 12 o'clock. I see that in this video, the pressure does not top out as well. Is this normal and if so why does it do that and why does it top out in some other backflucshing videos?

    • @Coffee_Kev
      @Coffee_Kev  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It'll just be because older videos are showing the Barista Express with the higher OPV setting, it was reduced recently to 9 bar, so on newer models you'll see the needle going to 12:00 while backflushing. Cheers, Kev.

    I bought one last week. Whenever I turn it on it seems to empty the entire water tank through some purge pipe behind the drip tray. This then overflows all over the kitchen worktop. If I then fill up the water tank again it makes me a cup of coffee. But this happens every time I turn it on. I'm assuming either it's broken or I've done something wrong. Any ideas?

    I note that you only get half pressure on the gauge when doing this process. Shouldn't the machine be going to full pressure for this process? I ask because I've recently purchased one of these and can also only get half pressure. Sage customer service is telling me this is normal, but in a couple of their own company-made videos the machine goes to full pressure during this process (albeit on a non-Impress version). Thoughts?

    • @bozman52
      @bozman52 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for letting me know. It either means it's normal, or it means Sage has a pretty significant quality control issue. My confusion is that I see videos of the Barista Express going to full pressure during cleaning, but the Barista Express Impress seems to not. As I believe they are effectively the same machine (aside from the tamping), I don't see why this would be, other than the Impress machines you and I have are defective.

    • @Killadeniz
      @Killadeniz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bozman52 Same here! Only goes to exactly 12oclock on mine, so im sure this is normal. AFAIK the grinder is also an upgraded version on the Impress, so there are some slight differences in the mechanics.

    • @SeriouslyTechy

      Could be the fact the barista impress is designed to go to max 9bar pressure. While the ordinary express goes up to 12 bar,

    • @Malfie900
      @Malfie900 ปีที่แล้ว

      My express impress does the same, the pressure gauge only goes halfway up while cleaning. Is this right or should I worry? Is there an conclusive answer about his "issue"?

    • @bozman52
      @bozman52 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Malfie900 , Your machine is likely normal. After a LOT of back and forth with Sage tech support, someone finally confimred to me that they use the exact same pressure guage between the Express Impress (9 bar max) and Impress (12 bar max), so on the Express Impress it appears it's not generating sufficient pressure. Basically, it's just Sage being cheap and reusing parts between models that are really not fit for purpose. Pretty disappointing for the money they want for one of these machines.

Made two cups and then on the third cup wouldn't go back to standby after extraction, the extraction stops but I hear a loud humming noise that only stops if I turn the machine off.
