    The water delay at the start of the cycle is the pre-infusion! When you pre flush the group head, just let it finish its water cycle fully without turning it off manually part way through and then it will give the correct amount of water immediately on the next use, i.e. for the actual coffee shot. To speed things up, pre flush on the single cup button! You're welcome!

    It's more because the volumetics on the sage machines are absolute crap! (i.e using the shot buttons to automatically give you x amount Even when you program them, still rubbish)
    Just manually extract like many others here say they do and you'll be grand

    I always press and hold the two cup button, that’s the pre infusion, then after 5 seconds I release it till I got 36 grams out and I press the button again to stop. For me this works the best

      Agree for first shot of the day. Second and subsequent can be single shot automatic. If I try automatic for first shot of the day, it stops early, under extracted. Automatic works fine for the rest of the day.

    You can hit programme before every time you hit the double shot button. By doing that, it won't stop pouring water unless you manually hit the button once again. Hit it once the desired weight of the shot is achieved. Start timer once the shot hits the shot glass. And yes, program the single shot button for 3-4 seconds and hit it for flushing/heating your portafilter.

    im confused...the water ALWAYS starts exactly 4 seconds after pressing the button..therefore...its always the same ammount? Where is the problem? if you want more you can just program it to more instead of always having to work around the delay by pressing the button multilple times before actually making your espresso?

    • @cityroastkbenhavn

      It is a bit confusing. But the water doesn’t always start at the same time. That is the point of this video. But as long as you have one way of doing it and if you always do the same then you shouldn’t have any problems. See the video again - I think it will make sense. Checl that part where I am just tapping pute water. There you can see the difference

      After flushing water out of the group head, water collects behind the shower screen, therefore making water flow instantaneously after pressing a brew button.

      The problem using weight on this machine is that pushing the button to stop it dosnt stop the coffee immidiately. Pushing the button at 30g leaves you with somewhere between 33-38g in the cup, inconsistently.

    • @CrossBurn3r
      @CrossBurn3r 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You misunderstand the problem. The problem itself is consistency between shots. i.e a lot of people early on with these machines experience inconsistencies between Weight and Time, which is caused by the additional water held in the pump for priming if the shot button has had flow soon before you run it and other times it hasn't had that. So your weight in the specific time is off. This can be a really problem when quickly pulling shots during dialling in.
      Example: if you're used to just pulling 1 shot, and not preheating the group head and your shot runs 36g in 30Seconds, but this time, you are making a 2nd cup for someone else...so you've pulled your shot, you've prepped your next one, you run the group to just clear any backwash and run your next shot, chances are you'll get 36g out in say 25seconds instead...you then start chasing issues with grind etc, when really, it's just that the pump has additional water in it and begins feeding water either sooner than the initial shot, OR it is pumping a higher volume in that initial phase of the 2nd shot.
      So you either have to prime it before every shot OR leave it a little longer between shots.

    • @cityroastkbenhavn
      @cityroastkbenhavn  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It is a great machine for the money. The only minus is the grinder. It can be a bit difficult to adjust it. I dont know if I would recommend it - depends on your budget and your personality. If you are willing to put some hours in learning about coffee, adjustments etc then you would be able to produce some very nice coffees on this machine.

      @@cityroastkbenhavn I have learned a lot about espresso over the years and at one point owned a Gaggia (albeit it was junk).. I have heard integrated grinders are a weakness in most all in ones though but a Niche is around 4-500 on its own.
      I mostly drink cappuccino’s so as long as it will pull a half decent double basket shot I think I will be happy… if not you are looking at machines costing 700- 1500 and that’s not happening.

    Esos segundos antes de empezar a caer el líquido, es la llamada preinfusion. Y puede tardar hasta 8 - 9 segundos. O estoy equivocada ?

      You are right but here I am talking about something else. It is a bit complicated. Trt to watch the video again. Or to avoid any problems just find your rutine and do precisely the same every time you brew a coffee

    • @castleje
      @castleje 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Estás algo equivocada porque en la pre-infusion ya comienza a caer agua sin presión; y después de ese ciclo sale agua con presión
      Los 3-4 segundos cuando agua no sale no es pre-infusión

    Damn 3 watches and i still dont get it lol, i thought you seemed to suggest the delay means you get less water.. so you dont like the delay? but then you say to program with the delay? But your machine there is showing a delay then no delay right after.. without you re-programming? I am so confused lol

    • @cityroastkbenhavn
      @cityroastkbenhavn  23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Just find your routine and make sure to follow the same steps every time you are brewing and you are good to go. I don’t have the machine any more but as I remember the delay isn’t something you can program.
      And what some guys are suggesting that the part with out water coming out is preinfusion is wrong. Preinfusion is the first part of water coming out with lower pressure for some seconds before pressure goes up. On other machine the preinfusion can start for few second and then machine stops for few second and turn on again. Hope it makes sense.

    • @cityroastkbenhavn

      You can flush and preheat when ever it suits you. The point of the video is the delay of the waterflow. See the video again and you will understand. It is a bit complicated. But in the essence it is up to you to find YOUR routine and stick to it so you do the same every time, and you should be fine
