I was lucky enough to have a few in stock at my local hobby shop (in the US), it cost me an arm and a leg, but it was entirely worth it!
i really considered into getting it had enough money saved up but came to the conclusion ''too big and pretty much a brick'' i already have issues with space with my over 200 models and if i wanted something just as good for the same price i could get 2 pgs

There were nine and I got number 8, nearly died from seeing 8 stacked on the floor lol I had already looked through the whole store before i seen it there for 360 after tax, got it on layaway for 90.07$ and i couldn't have been more happy, im put another in layaway if there still there

Honestly he probably influenced Hathaway Flash also since the MS and the way the MS fights there are basically oversized fighter jets.
Honestly I think he should come back again for another Gundam Series. Preferably AU one. I mean we haven't really gotten a missile majority weapons focus Gundam. An AU would be excellent for him to use designs from him.
I wish the Stamen actually got some use in Stardust Memory. I was waiting for the moment where it would detach for some cool moment, like maybe a final fight with a damaged Neue Ziel, but it only ended up detaching from the Orchis after the final fight it over. It doesn't help that the Stamen is actually a really good classic Gundam design

Yeah, the whole concept was to have a mobile suit inside the mobile armor in order to be able to continue fighting even after the mobile armor gets wrecked and/or runs out of ammo.

Sure.....why not ask for 1/1 Dendrobium.
I mean it would only as long as a football field and tall like a four story building.

Mine's showing its age, but even with the more advanced the master and perfect grades in my collection, the GP03 is still my absolute favorite. Brings back good nostalgia to see what it looked like freshly built again.

I have had this kit since it was released! Loved the design since the first time I saw the OVA. Biggest issue I have had the last few years is where to store it.... so the joke with the local gunpla club is.. if you own it, it will end up on top of your fridge 😂 since for 5 years that is where mine was 😂
I think a good video series from you would just be a simple detailing series, where you take kits you've previously reviewed and detail them up the way you've always wanted to.

GP03's arms are not just HAVING a sub arm, it TRANSFORMS into sub arm. I don't know if this kit can do it or not, but after you fold out the sub arm, take it all the way out and close up the cover section, then fold the arm at around the wrist to switch hand position make the sub arm become using arm, that's probably why they included 2 spread hands
Addition : GP03's name is "gundam dendrobium", when separated they become "orchis" and "gundam denbrobium stamen" so it's not just gundam -dick- but gundam flower's -dick-

While the craftsmanship of getting this kit to work to begin with is beyond compare, I find it deeply funny that this thing's scale was so enormous for High Grade that they had to give up on full snap-together ABS construction and just flat out give you bits of sheet metal, screws and screw hole covers just to keep it all stable.
Best support MS vehicle but the Ugly Story based on it
Now imagine the people who will put countless hours into modifying this thing into a custom armor… think of all the things they’re going to do 😧
Honestly this thing could be modified to be ship armor even considering the MA part supposed to be a missile container.

The "hg mechanics" dendrobium works perfect as a back pack for 144 scale gunpla.
i still think the HGM is still a bit too big, even when compared to the always bulky Zaku III in kakarot197 review
don't forget the HG GN Arms and the HG G-Self Assault Pack for the 1/144 "Gundams docked with a Mobile Armor-like unit".
i got this kit. took me a long time to build it (2 seasons of avatar long) once it was done i couldnt put up a shelf for it cause i needed to get the materials and so i left it on the table. someone in my family picked it up and dropped it shattering a large amount of the back and i have never regreted spending money on a hobby until then

I built this kit and fully detailed and airbrushed it. Took me about 6 months total. I think the worst part is the lack of any decals at all

It would be nice that if/when we finally get new versions of the GP01, GP01FB and GP03S (perhaps even an HGUC GP00 and GP04 while we're at it) that the Orchis gets a rerelease by itself. That way you can put the NEW GP03S in the Orchis and not have the old clunker laying around.
We need HG revives of the stardust memory kits
We need an MG Stamen 2.0 and an RG Stamen. There is so much old Gundam to go to for great looking mobile suits, they don't have to reinvent the damn things all the time, there's plenty to appreciate about older designs.

There are a couple of "mobile armors" you're missing
- HG GN Arms type E
- HG GN Arms Type D
- HG barbatos + Kutan Type III
When I got into the hobby back in 2022 I wanted this kit really bad but didn’t want to pay the prices on eBay and other sites so I waited for a reprint for it and in January of 2024 some of the online hobby stores that I shop on was getting them in stock and I was finally able to get it and I bought their last one before it was out of stock I got lucky

0083 is so close to having a full HG roster. Xamel, the Val Varo, the Neue Ziel, and the Dom from the prologue (I think it was a Funf) are missing, plus some of the Kimbareid colored Zaku II F2s.
0083 has such classy mechanical designs.

HGCE Destroy Gundam incoming @Mecha Gaikotsu! It looks abit undersized for scale considering Destiny Gundam looks like as tall as the chest height though.
The anime makes giant mech like Destroy and Psycho bigger than their official height.

I loved building this when I got mine. The GP02 is my favorite of all Gundam suits so I hope that one day Bandai will come back and update this OVA's models.

Dang, that's a beast! I could see someone taking time to panel line it here and there while videos render or such. I have the old Gundam Weapons volume on this kit-the full pictures inside required two fold-out pages to fit the cannon in!
Meanwhile, Rodams does have that massive 1/72 version. I still have no idea how much space that thing would take to build, let alone display!

Only one nitpick.
The reprint wasn’t Gundam Base exclusive. It was a retail and Gundam Base reprint, and plenty of US vendors have it in stock right now at MSRP.
So if you are in the U.S. and searching for this kit there are plenty of vendors with it in stock as of this comment. If you are viewing this in the future, then it will be reprinted again eventually. It had retail reprints in 2019 and 2020 before this recent reprint in December 2023.

Dendrobium Gundam VS Neue Ziel
Managed to grab one of these a few months back when it came into stock at a reasonable price, after wanting one for years. Took me quite a while to build, especially with the panel lining and detail painting that it needed to make it look as good as it can.
It is interesting though, my box is obviously a new one (has a blue bandai logo), but it does not have the "gundam base" logo. Maybe they didn't mark the ones that they were sending to online retailers like that? Can confirm the low quality box art. Though interestingly, the booklet has the red bandai logo on it.
If imagining this from the IBO resemblances: Folding Smoothbore-bazooka, Barbatos's sub-arms, MA Bulky-Hasmal looks etc. 😊😊
Bought mine while visiting a friend in Japan April/May 2002....unfortunately I have yet to build it =X
Too big for me to ever consider, even if I could afford it or had the time to do it justice. I'd just be happy to see a reprint of the HGM version. Secondary market pricing is wild even for that one.
I really need to get around to getting this after this video. As well as try watching/reading where it comes from. The model kit looks like an absolute spectacle to both build and display. I remember trying the suit out in Dynasty Warriors Gundam Reborn (sony! Release that for pc, or make a new one, or something!). You controlled just the Stamen portion, but you could summon weapons from the Orchis as part of the combos, and the burst attack was becoming the full Dendrobium for a short while. It was just a spectacle to play as (even if I preferred using the strike freedom)

An idea: find someone in community who has painted the Orchid and see if they would work with you and send B roll footage to show off the kit at that level.
around how many hours did it take you to build this? I pre-ordered it and it came when while I wasn't home, going to be getting to it in a week or so, just wondering what kind of time sink it's gonna be fore me. I have a massive backlog right now lol, I got like 30 suits at home and then got another like 20 or so that came in while I was gone lol.
Also are gundam markers good I've never done any panel lining or anything since I dont' see well but I assume I could probably use a marker, where I live it gets hot in the summer and a bit above freezing in winter and that's what everything I own is kinda put to the test with, how does marker hold up to that? anything special one should do after using it or?
WOW! At first, considering the age and lack of colors I wasn't expecting very much. But now that I see all the gimicks and storage, I'm BLOWN AWAY! Imagine how insane this could be if you took the time to give every small molded detail the appropriate paint (might take forever and a day but....), this could be really intense and well worth the shelf space.
Damnit! Now I kinda want one. The price and difficulty to find would kill me even before the build would get it's chance, but again, WOW!

aaah I had the hg stamen and zephyranthes when I was a little kid back in 2003!!! Definitely fiddly for kid me, especially since I didn't know to clean up nubs hahahaha and treated it as a pop-out-with-your-fingers and build :') found all the bits torn apart in the old toy tub abd cleaned up the nubs a decade later when I was a bit bigger, and the sub arms that never fit before folded in so much nicer lol

This is on my bucket list of kits I want to buy/build one day. Unfortunately, it costs a lot and takes up a lot of room.
I remember seeing this kit at a second hand store when I was in Utsunomiya, Japan... made me wish I'd gotten it, even if the cost of shipping woulda been high as hell.

Looks great, though I do think it's kind of crazy that the Dendrobium reissue is north of $330.00..... whereas P-Bandai has the Meteor Unit for $67.00 which means I can grab two and then just grab an HG Freedom and Justice to plug in for under $200.00.
It's funny you mention Star Wars because for a while there it looks you're making a Star Destroyer model or something similar.
