@@lucasrios2089 I really want an MG 00 Sky Moebius too. That new color scheme really turned me around on the design, apart from that I guess the only other Build design I really want badly as an MG is X Maoh, if only because of how frustrating it is that Mao is one of the more important characters in OG Build Fighters but he never got an MG (also I'm really biased towards X because it's my favorite gundam design lol)
My favorite HG is definitely the HG 00 sky moebius, that thing has a whole bunch of different accessories and weapon combinations as well as pretty awesome articulation that just makes me not wanna stop posing it.
Considering there are about only 11 or so units so far (alto, portanova, A-Flight type, A-Ground type, P-Space Type, P-Marine type, Rabiot, Cielnova, Spinatio Sengoku, Spinatio Ninja, Spinatia Fencer - did I miss any?) based on 6 or so base variations , that's a pretty small pool to choose from...
The HG The Origin Bugu. It is honestly the best high grade ever. Perfect material, near-limitless poseability, justice for mono-eye, vivid, lush coloration, incredibly robust inner frame, beautiful cat-whisker face, embarassingly generous surface detail, and full compatibility with all the Origin accessories. I would encourage everyone to indulge in the HG Bugu. I understand your reasoning for the gradual reversal on the G40, but ever since seeing the "Don't Stop 'till You Get Enough" gunpla dance video, I've had endless admiration for the audacity of the design. It's wildly different and unique, and you're right that calling it a "High Grade" is a complete misnomer. It's almost "concept grade". Finally, I have to cape for the HG Turn A. I know everyone's always over the moon about its MG model, but the HG Turn A is like absolutely nothing else. And they capture those beautiful Syd Mead curves with a level of poetry and elegance I didn't think possible at this scale.
And if we're talking The Origin kits, I thought you just reviewed the Dom Test Type -- an absolute champion of mono-eye kits, with maybe the single coolest gun of any model, and *ridiculous* poseability for its bulk. Dom Test Type 5eva!
I’d say my favorite HGs are either the Try Burning or the Hyaku Shiki revive. Both are phenomenally solid with exactly the accessories you’d want and have amazing articulation. My least favorite by far is the Flag from 00. I love the design to death but the kit is far too spindly to hold its own weight. It constantly falls over, can barely hold its weapons, and the transformation barely works
The GM GM was a honest shock to me, but it makes alot of sense. One of my personal favorites is the Gundam Kimaris Trooper, I love the idea of a gundam with a ground-mobility transformation, like the complete opposite of the Zeta design philosophy. Its fun and I love it. I did replace the head of mine with the R-Gyagya's head, and ive been meaning to get some nice paint to redo the thing in more nobel colors
I haven’t built the hg Phenex, but I have built the banshee, and it honestly isn’t that bad, good even. It looks cool especially that orangey gloss psycho frame, and it had a very unique build process. The only problem I have with the kit is the slightly below average articulation and lack of accessories.
I’m getting into building these now with my son and daughter. The MG series are great because they are affordable, have awesome packaging, and create priceless memories with my family.
After seeing the Messer in action in the Hathaway movie I knew I had to have one, so after watching your review of it, I bought the kit. The HG Messer was only my second ever gunpla and it was such an enjoyable build that I think it solidified my desire to build more kits.
I thought this is awesome! Some of your reviews have helped me choose my non-existent backlog/wishlist. This is just a slim hope but here's to hoping something good.
You: The humble high grade! The first step for budding builders around the world! Me: *staring exhaustedly at the RG Zaku II Char Custom he started with* Oh.
11:00 "Or if you're very very desperate [...] you could get the robot damashii" Hey as a Damashii/MB collector I resent that lol. Aside from the higher price (typically) the only thing you're really missing is the build experience. But that build is really fun so I do find myself tempted occasionally to build kits again.
Speaking of 'army builder' my favourite high grade kit is similar to yours, it's the HG AGE Shaldoll Rogue, something about this kit is just so perfect and like yourself, I'm surprised I haven't grabbed another (although the real reason is probably coz I have no space)
I only do 144 scale for space but also because I knew I would do a lot of HG because there is more variety and I want my gunpla collectionto be a single constant size. I haven't built enough yet to make a list but I was surprised the revive Chars Zaku II didn't make it for more mono eye love and that clever rubber skirt.
Kit bash question for anyone who can answer! Looking to do a HG kit bash between Barbatos Lupus Rex and Freedom Gundam (non-strike). From videos I've found I think the Freedom wings will fit into the sides of the Rex's backpack (please confirm/deny if you know). I really want to know if the side skirt railguns on the Freedom attach with a similar/same mechanism as the Rex's side skirts. This will be a quick and dirty kit bash with quick paint. I own the Rex, so yes I know it is a finicky kit that needs A LOT of love to work. Opinions, questions please...
I wanna get the G40 and take certain aspects to graft onto the beyond global. Weapons, head, feet and backpack are cool on the G40, it's just the rest of it thats iffy at best.
Bro, I would had bet my first born your number one would had been the IBO Gundam Dantalion. Now I have to do shots of bourbon and go get her back! Seriously, I love what you do for the hobby and what you represent to your viewers.
I cheered for number 3. The kit that made me fall in love with gunpla. Edit: For recommendations of kits you've never built, the annoyingly hard to find Age Grunt suits are (save the genoace) fantastic. The G-Exes is the coolest not-a-gundam gundam design and the Adele might be my favorite HG grunt. It's posable, solid as a brick, and has nice, clean lines.
The moon gundam was my first build and i got it because it was the only one left at my local shop. I since then got 2 more razu HGs. I have ordered a striker MG coming this week and hopefully next month i will get my PG unicorn and PG unleashed RX 78
I have a MIGHTY NEED to know what that mech is at 16:04, or at least how to find it-- dug through his twitter and gundamwiki and couldn't find it, but it looks like a Re-GZ and Jegan baby, and I need to see the full thing to ever feel complete again.
A little tip if a joint like and arm or leg or hand is loose rip off a small square of paper and jam it between the joins and it won’t be loose anymore
It’s a good hg, but the beyond global beats it for simultaneously having good articulation (not better than g40), being sturdy, and the general aesthetics
@@smokemidigofoolish5797 The Origin kit is probably the best of the HG grandpa's, almost looks like an RG with a little work. G40 is my least favorite of the three new ones but it's a super unique build with amazing articulation and it looks awesome with the right paint job.
@@GotNextVideo origin is probably my second favorite, but subjectively the best it does everything right and has the most accessories of all the hg granddaddies

Some runner ups: origin rx-78-2, origin zaku II char or gun cannon, ibo frame shiden, try burning Gundam, jesta, kampfer, age 1 Titus, geara zulu, windham, Uranus. What your top ten?
In no order because my list tends to change too constantly 1) moon Gundam 2) destiny revive Gundam 3) nt Gundam 4) xi Gundam 5) Char zaku 2 origin 5) dom test type 6) age 1 7) origin rx78-2 8) hi nu vrabe 9) crossbone X1 10) nu Gundam
I know it doesn't really fit into your criteria, but I think the graze is awesome because of the number of variants, as well. You can have some basic army ones and then have them with commanders, which I think looks cool for a display.

I've pretty much watched all Gundam shows, might be missing one or two, but I haven't seen Hathaway just yet. Anything I need to remember before I watch it? I remember jumping into Unicorn and being very confused after forgetting a lot of important plot points and context from previous shows.
HG Varguil is the best for me. that thing is perfect out of box build. the color etc. to go beyond is just make more scribble to panel line to look like its art at 16:00. it's design is literally perfect. even better then Sazabi
Well done Mecha! Great work and good luck for the next 300 lol. 😉 Wanted to say also that my preference is RG's however since the scale is the same I have a lot of fun (attempting) to sometimes detail a good HG, trying to bring them up a notch visually which has also helped some of my modelling skills overall, im not super anal but I enjoy the approach and think it's not too big a challenge with more modern HG's at least and not too risky with a less expensive kit as opposed to what you said you used to do with 1/100's to work with your MG's. 😎
I'd love to get a Graze army (or at least just a few). But good luck trying to find a place that has them in stock. Same with the Messer. Would love to have one. One day maybe.
as an HGUC purist, i wholeheartdly agree that GM/GM is the greatest Bandai's appreciation to GM line really good base kit for customized GM, or even a Gundam

I never built anything on this list. HG Falke from Full Metal Panic line is the best one I ever built, with all the other FMP kits also seeming very good. Not only do they sport good articulation and look cool, they also don't desintegrate in your hands when you handle them. On the other side of the spectrum the worst piece of s I've ever built was the HG Amazing Strike Freedom from Build Fighters line. It's filled with stickers and handles like a ball of noodles. It also likes to lose parts even just standing. Fun video.
I'm building the amazing strike now I'm just painting where the stickers should be loose joints are easily fixed ,the only fmp kit I've built is the arbalest booster version i NEED the rest of the set
@@666styxxx666 It's true that nearly any kit can get good if you put enough work into it. Bad color seperation? Handpaint the sucker. Loose joints? Thicken with paint. Tight joints? Lubricate them or sand/scrape some material from peg/socket. Loose parts? Glue them. Stickers for everything? Paint instead. Even lack of detail can be fixed with putty, tools and some work. In my opinion the kit should be good out the box. That's why the very impressive RG Sazabi is IMO a bad kit, because of the critical shoulder joint flaw that makes them break easily if you just follow instructions. But hey - kudos to you for putting in the elbow grease. If you like the line that's the only way to make it nice.
@@ThatDjinn I've built models for over 40 years ( including pre 1st grade gunpla) so I'm pretty much used to putting in the effort OK I'll admit if your not used to glue, sand, fill repeat then paint and just straight build their are a few kits that are disappointing but I like the challenge ( worse case build glue stick at back of collection forget move on to next kit 😝 ) good or bad kit the practice improves your skills
I painted the HGUC Phenex Narrative version plain finish with Tamiya spray can gold last summer... and handbrushed all the non-colour-separated grey parts. Lots of work, but looks OK. Definitely not one of my favorites, but it has its place next to the HG Sinanju Stein, which IS one of my favorites. As a pair, I enjoyed them.
The Moon Gundam is FANTASTIC!!! It was a ton of fun to build and that plastic is smooth. Most of my favorites fall into the Origins line. I love all of the Origins Zaku that I've built, and I'd have to say my favorite kit in my collection is probably the RX-78-2 Origins version. It's so posable and all of those weapon options are awesome. However, I was not a huge fan of the Origins Guntank. That kit frustrated me to no end, brittle parts and a repetitive build. I enjoyed building the HG Guncannon as well. Sort of an outdated kit, but a fun build with a surprising amount of posing potential. Ohhh... One of my least favorites was the HG Banshee Norn... that thing is a brick full of loose joints. The Narrative Gundam was a let down too.
For me my absolute favorite, it has gotta be the Xi Gundam, and the Moon Gundam. For the first time I felt that not using any polycaps was actually really nice. The engineering on those two are just superb, they don't really need any stickers and are extremely sturdy, well except for Moon's floppy psycho plates, I mean, they stay together pretty well, but they flop, and it's giving me the MG Nu Gundam Ver ka. ptsd... Aside from that, they just look so damn good and presentable OOB, heck I didn't even panel line either of them and they still look fantastic. In fact, I'm thinking of picking up the Xi VS Penelop effect suit because the Xi Gundam is just way too good to be in only 1 form (for my current one, I'm having it in flight form). Plus the decals that came with it, also having the Penelope is an extra plus. Edit: I'm using "For the first time" because HG Farsia absolutely sucked, maybe I was an amateur when I built it back when it first released, the ball joints for the legs and hands loosened up and now she's flopping like an actual Woody doll. In other words, the HG Farsia definitely did not Age well.
I’m surprised the Moon gundam wasn’t first place for HG’s you like, along with other good ones not here like the HGCE Aile Strike Gundam and HGUC RX-78-2 The Origin vers, two kits i feel are solid and amazing HG’s. Though some of the good ones you listed look very interesting, definitely feel like picking up that HGUC Messer Type-F01 for my first mono-eye kit!
I feel like MG Virtue is almost like the trial run for what could be a MG Earthree/Core Gundam. With the armour pieces that can de-attach from it I could see them making a MG Core Gundam if the Virtue is received very well

@@youmgsandwiche I could see Sky Moebius coming out as a resin conversion, X Maoh would be definitely be sweet to have as well
My favorite HG is definitely the HG 00 sky moebius, that thing has a whole bunch of different accessories and weapon combinations as well as pretty awesome articulation that just makes me not wanna stop posing it.
To be honest, I had the same feeling for all the 00 Gundam variations… I literally fell in love with this kit as soon as I built my first one
Same
same to me tho, 1st time i watch that anime, i thought that 00 sky moebius just like nah another 00 kit, but then i go get one and its so beautiful 😂
yeah basically 00 with destiny
make "My Top 5 Favorite and Least Favorite 30 Minute mission kits" :D, would be hard for you to rank I think hehehe such a cool line of kits
@@HarmonyEdge ohh yes i agree, I thought each option sets would also account as to a 1kit variant :O
@@HarmonyEdge you also forgot about the spinatia assassin type
The moon Gundam was one of my first truly stunning HGs!!! I got the clear limited variant and I was actually stunned with how amazing it was!!
Definitely going to get that Moon asap! So what are the little 🏢 buildings dio pieces? Need!!!
Hey Mecha, what were the models on the shelf to the left of the gold plated unicorns when you had showed them on display? They looked pretty neat
So far my favorite HG is the new starter RX-78 2. Its so simple, stable, and easy to paint wish the G-40 copied the waist joint.
Surprised the Revive Grandpa didn't make it! I think that's a must-have high grade.
Yoooooo congrats on 300k!!!
Is there any other HGUC kits that are as detailed as the RG just like the Moon Gundam?
Try out HG origin line. It is more detail than average HGs
Super Happy for the Messer to be included in the list, I freaking love that kit xD
You: The humble high grade! The first step for budding builders around the world!
Me: *staring exhaustedly at the RG Zaku II Char Custom he started with* Oh.
11:00 "Or if you're very very desperate [...] you could get the robot damashii"
Hey as a Damashii/MB collector I resent that lol.
I love the AGE grunt kits. Simple and fun!
the exia i got had parts that were just terrible, the left shoulder mount was malleable and got bent and the skirt parts are super floppy
At 16:46 Mecha did you mean Hestu's golden shit from Legend of Zelda BoTW?
After you did the RG list, I was expecting a list of the RE/100, since there are fewer RE/100 than RG.
Really enjoyed the video, will you make a MG version of the list?
I just got into the hobby but yeah for me, G bouncer has got to be one of the sickest designs ever..
Genuinely a little surprised that the Beyond Global RX78-2 isn't on the list, that aside, great video! Love your stuff!!! :)
So glad the graze made this list! Such a fantastic value kit
The moon gundam was my first build and i got it because it was the only one left at my local shop.
I since then got 2 more razu HGs. I have ordered a striker MG coming this week and hopefully next month i will get my PG unicorn and PG unleashed RX 78
You are a rich man, I see..
Sweet! A Mechagaitkotsu video released on my birthday today!
Been wanting to get the GM/GM for a little while now, glad to see it on here tbh
just curious, do you own any of the Astray frames? I have been DYING to get a Sengoku Astray for the longest time
I appreciate how we share the same opinion of the RX-78 redesign
I have a MIGHTY NEED to know what that mech is at 16:04, or at least how to find it-- dug through his twitter and gundamwiki and couldn't find it, but it looks like a Re-GZ and Jegan baby, and I need to see the full thing to ever feel complete again.
Re-GZID, found by just googling his name and gundam and scrolling until found.
A little tip if a joint like and arm or leg or hand is loose rip off a small square of paper and jam it between the joins and it won’t be loose anymore
needed this video. about to get my first gunpla and having trouble figuring out what to get
G40: " You're traitor, mecha"
When are we ever going to have stuff available to purchase cause I can’t ever get any IBO kits I only have Barbatos with the booster.
I think the last great mono eye ms hg ive built was the gouf custom. That was a really good kit.
Build any HG The Origin Zeon kit, they're all phenomenal for HG's, and it's a travesty they aren't in this list.
My fave HG I've done so far is the newer Deathscythe. So satisfying and really easy to pose.
The g40 was a shock but after the breakdown I understand because it's basically an action figure over a model kit
Finally something I needed.I can’t believe the G40 is least favorite number 1
It’s a good hg, but the beyond global beats it for simultaneously having good articulation (not better than g40), being sturdy, and the general aesthetics
(In my opinion)
@@smokemidigofoolish5797 The Origin kit is probably the best of the HG grandpa's, almost looks like an RG with a little work. G40 is my least favorite of the three new ones but it's a super unique build with amazing articulation and it looks awesome with the right paint job.
@@GotNextVideo origin is probably my second favorite, but subjectively the best it does everything right and has the most accessories of all the hg granddaddies
I honestly thought it will be hg tristan
At least the pro of HG GM III Beam master is that the kit has spare runner to build a color variant GM III.
Oh boy, another giveaway that when the date of announcing the winner comes on, there will be silence. I did not like how people were hyped up on a previous one and were just left like that. A person on twitter also mentioned that he ghosted his fans on Discord when it was time to announce yet another giveaways winners.
I adore your reviews and you are a fun person to listen to, but I noticed some people are starting to get a bad idea of you. It would be wise to address this :/

I knew nothing about Gundam Build Divers when I saw the Earthree Gundam kit at my local shop and just bought it. I love the little Core Gundam
im new to gundam and i think they all look cool really
Look cool but some of them are fragile. That is why we need review
I know it doesn't really fit into your criteria, but I think the graze is awesome because of the number of variants, as well. You can have some basic army ones and then have them with commanders, which I think looks cool for a display.
build quality? sure the Beam master is rough, but those colors are great!! I'll just glue it together for my collection.
Nice work! Where did you get the buildings from. The ones that you pose your Gundam next to?
Damn should have bought that moon gundam when I had the chance. There’s been one sitting in my local hobby lobby for the longest time and with 40% off 🤦man I rly missed out.
"The first time I got into gunpla, I got the master grade Wing Zero Custom, like most people."
Me, with 7 days of gunpla building experience and my MG Wing Zero Custom on my desk: wha
So I’m basing my own list off my collection (which isn’t the best honestly) these are just my favorites too
5. Penelope
4. Gold Re:Rising Gundam (just for its presence)
3. Tied between Sinanju and Kshatriya
2. Infinite Justice
1. Moon
Owns all those ( not got the gold version yet but standard color kit ) but soon
I've pretty much watched all Gundam shows, might be missing one or two, but I haven't seen Hathaway just yet. Anything I need to remember before I watch it? I remember jumping into Unicorn and being very confused after forgetting a lot of important plot points and context from previous shows.
If you’ve already watched mobile suit gundam UC0079 and char’s counterattack then i think its enough to understand the hathaway flash
Since the story is focused on Hathaway's POV then just watching CCA and understand the bigger Lore of UC is enough for you
The Mustache Gundam would be a Top 10 most favorite if the list is longer imo.
HG Varguil is the best for me. that thing is perfect out of box build.
the color etc. to go beyond is just make more scribble to panel line to look like its art at 16:00.
it's design is literally perfect. even better then Sazabi
I really love the HG Maganac! Stickers are fun, articulates well and the color separation is fine
Well done Mecha! Great work and good luck for the next 300 lol. 😉
Wanted to say also that my preference is RG's however since the scale is the same I have a lot of fun (attempting) to sometimes detail a good HG, trying to bring them up a notch visually which has also helped some of my modelling skills overall, im not super anal but I enjoy the approach and think it's not too big a challenge with more modern HG's at least and not too risky with a less expensive kit as opposed to what you said you used to do with 1/100's to work with your MG's. 😎
What is the name of the model at 2:52 with the sword?
Can't wait for Best Gundam 2021 vids
I'd love to get a Graze army (or at least just a few). But good luck trying to find a place that has them in stock. Same with the Messer. Would love to have one.
One day maybe.
I got the GM GM after hearing you rave about it, and I totally agree. I love the little guy! He's cute, beautiful, iconic, and sturdy! 10/10
Yooooo, your number 1 favorite kit is also my favorite!!!! Amazing articulation, easy to custom, and and has great engineering too!
What Zaku was posed with the "re imagined" rx78?
@MechaGaikotsu what are your top 5 "hopes" to get a revive of the HG line??
as an HGUC purist, i wholeheartdly agree that GM/GM is the greatest Bandai's appreciation to GM line
really good base kit for customized GM, or even a Gundam
I've only been watching your content for a week or 2, it inspired me to buy my first gunpla. I've been going through your older videos and is it just me or did you use lockdowns to get swole? Awesome content and keep it coming!

Me : looks at my SD Petit haropla hg mg rg pg re 100 collection 😒 nope OK I've more hg but that's because there are more of them out there ( well outside Japan that is )
I never built anything on this list.
Surprised the lupus hg didn't make it on the list, a shame...
So question from a guy who hasn't bought any yet build series sets yet. Are the build series sets really bad?
I’m surprised the Moon gundam wasn’t first place for HG’s you like, along with other good ones not here like the HGCE Aile Strike Gundam and HGUC RX-78-2 The Origin vers, two kits i feel are solid and amazing HG’s.
Though some of the good ones you listed look very interesting, definitely feel like picking up that HGUC Messer Type-F01 for my first mono-eye kit!
I agree about the hgce aile strike. Its solid as a rock
I usually repaint them in the colors they come in, adding shadows and highlights to beam master, would be pretty cool.

I really need something like this as I really need to build something other than rg, and since I'm lookin to buy the RG Hi V Gundam.
I feel like MG Virtue is almost like the trial run for what could be a MG Earthree/Core Gundam. With the armour pieces that can de-attach from it I could see them making a MG Core Gundam if the Virtue is received very well
You know what same thoughts like while technical and design wise they are different, both had the same concept of having "Cast Off" kinda armor that hid their true form

Need update for hizack and marasai. The unicorn marasai is just color swap with single elbow joint. ALSO, WHY DID A LOT OF HGUC UNICORN LINE HAVE SINGLE ELBOW JOINT? WHY BANDAI WHY?
Track down a Gouf Ignited HG from Gundam Seed Destiny. Im currently rebuilding one right now as it was a past suit i built before i was better at building and overall, a great suit. Stickers are annoying and seed destiny kits were never fully accurate to anime but take the time to pain it right and its a shelf keeper.
for me my worst hg is exia transam i do not know if it is with my but the arm keeps splitting apart on the right arm . same with sinaju high grade sucks the same the arm splits off when i move the kit also unicorn same arm split in upper arm part when i move and do poses. i had too super glew them .
