Man can anyone imagine what it might've been like if Kira and the others encountered the Destroy Gundam during the First Bloody Valentine War as seen in Gundam Seed instead of Destiny I'll bet they would have still had a hell of a time taking this thing down like they did when they first encountered it in Berlin.
@@adamteo1864no, it’s not. It’s a $100+ high grade which most people cannot justify buying. $100 in Yen, Yuan, or anything else can mean the difference between having a meal or getting groceries. It’s not “affordable” for a Gundam model, and it’s a niche model as well, just like all the very big models (Neo Zeong, Nightingale [even the HG is large, the RE-100 moreso, but crappier], etc.) are niche models that most Gunpla fans won’t buy because they are obscure or just too large to buy.
Honestly this is smaller than I thought, based on how it stomp the BuCue at least it should be 3/4 times bigger than this kit. But anyway better to appreciate that finally we get this kit rather than none at all
What you could try doing to mitigate the weight of the pack is putting lots of metal ball bearings inside the empty cavities of the legs, and maybe the torso. While you will have to glue them down with superglue when you find the right spot, it might be worth it just to make it stand without having a long awkward thing sticking out from behind.
First and foremost, the Destroy Gundam IS. A. MONSTER. This machine was terrifying in the anime. A mobile suit built for one purpose and one purpose only: massive destruction. Just imagine this sucker if it was made in 1/100th Master Grade form.
if you exclude the massive backpack and cannons sticking up, in terms of head height in Mobile Suit mode the HGCE Destroy Gundam is still slightly shorter compared to the old HGUC Psycho Gundam kit.
I would like it directly compared with the psycho Gundam and Master grade kits for scale purposes just to see the difference in size between the two please
There are two reasons why I can't get this kit. 1. I don't have space for that behemoth. 2. I want to put leds everywhere on that mf, anywhere there's a beam effect, led, just make everything light up, and that's a larger project I do not want to do currently
This kit is more likely 1/150 size since the torso's supposed to be bigger than the HG Freedom. Anyway this is big enough to put LEDs in it. For the chest&mouth beam cannons, you could probably make your own BeamFX using GunplaMeli's guide with glue sticks for the DIY BeamFX. A friend of mine built his last week and it was great to see it compared to other 1/144 sized kits. Might build a papercraft version of this in 1/100 scale so that it can face to another papercraft Archangel.

Might have to get this one... I am a sucker for the psycho gundam, and this is like that and Big Zam had a child.
I shouldn't have passed this up! All the awesome gundam seed stuff being sooooo awesome so far!
The stickers surprises me with how minimum it is! Impressive!
The "opacity" of the beam effect part hides the internal connection points!❤ MEGA BEAM!
The ultimate Gundam weapon, nipple lasers.
my wallet will be definitely destroyed, gundam
It's actually affordable in Asia. So ita not exactly that expensive lol

They probably just decided to scale it back so it won’t be more expensive than a perfect grade 😅
Bit late, but the Destroy Gundam is to scale. The anime exaggerated the scale, but the HG is accurate.

This is one of those rare times when I felt a kit really need more details. It just looks too plain with how big it is
Well, it is still technically a high grade, despite being the size of a master grade
Its HG if its an RG then we can talk about the details. I am still waiting for the Devil Gundam remastered
