Hey Jerry! I had a question about your exhausts video- you had a pair of beautiful slash cuts so decided to pick them up- but they’re far too loud as is. Any chance you remember the baffle diameter and length you bought?
The width was 60mm, I don't remember the lenght. I also got the ceramic packing to wrap the baffles and have to drill a hole in the exhaust to hold the baffle in place since there isn't already a hold that lines up. Yes, I think it could. But I wouldn't feel comfortable unless a couple changes were made. 1) better couplings made from a solid bar and machine cut for an exact fit and 2) a metal bracket for the two bolts that is welded to the tail. I think it would be simple to do with the proper tools.
Hey Jerry grt video, the one i have been looking for. But i have a small question, after this mod can we able to ride with a passenger with long seat mod installed back? does the mod be able to withstand the weight of a passanger on a cruise ride? Can u please reply back after a qc please?!!!
Maybe? ... I don't ride with a passenger. But if you do it correctly then, yes. The mod I did is strong enough to hold a passenger but I wouldn't unless I made the connection tighter & stronger so that there would be no chance of it breaking and sliding out due to extra stress from bumps and vibrations with the extra weight.
I Loved the fact that we can go for double seat and single in just 2 minutes. When I'm away from hometown i like to travel with single seat and when I'm in hometown i like it as a double seat, bcoz my mom scold if i don't have another seat for her 😂 I would like to do this modification in future.

This is happening on my '24 GT650. Brilliant. You can always do the MKDesings (or other) side-mount for the plate - this way it never has to come off. Cheers.
Hello jerry, after your modifications to the continental gt I decided to buy one because I loved the design of the bike, only the rear part of it which I didn't like and with the modifications you made inspired me and I did it on my gt too and now it can be both more sporty and more classic in minutes so thank you! After watching your videos I was inspired and in addition to the modifications to the rear of the bike I made a single seater for the double seat that can be removed for a pillion to use and installed as a front fairing on the bike. I'm from Brazil and I really like going on long trips and the Continental GT is not very comfortable for long trips, so in addition to the modifications to the rear of the bike, I also changed the handlebars to the silver Himalayan handlebars, which made the bike much more comfortable for long trips. , and keeping the style. Thanks again for the videos, they are very good, congratulations.
I wanted to do the same thing. Love the look of the short tail end, with less clutter, but didn't want to completely lose the utility of the stock portion. I seriously had the exact same idea. I haven't done it yet but now I know it works and I'm not crazy. Thank you for the vid! Great job and great looking bike!
It works great and makes the bike a lot more versatile! I love the shorty tail but recently did a nine day, 1,500 mile road trip and it was great to be able to put the stock tail on so I could attach bags and camping gear.
In India, MVD The problem is that you can't just change things like that without consequences. If a person is found violating the rules, they can be fined up to Rs 5,000 and jailed for up to 6 months. But this one is clean modification looks good and keep doing.

Nice work. I would have put the screws on the underside of the rail, but other than that, looks great! It’s gonna take you longer to swap the plate than the tail!
Yes, that would've been better screw placement! Or put the screws on the inside. And yes, the license plate slows down the swap... trying to find some quick release fasteners or a plate holder that you can slide the plate in & out quickly!

@@RideWithJerry i just cut the seat foam away ,as had spare,added a lil flat metal bracket underseat drilled 4 holes in seat with serated kitchen knife hehe,and used ebay cage from china bolted 2 seat,then when i put dual cowl back on,its back to bobber in an instant,kinda like what you did,but 5 kids etc i had to do it cheaper,for my uber eats job,the rack was 15$au,from ebay,but its steel&works perfecto,fun delivering uber on a 650conti for shure😀
That's pretty SLICK, but I kept on feeling like I need to slip-on some EYE Protection, while you were doing some of this! 😃 Curious as to whether the shorty lighting set-up has any REFLECTORS for when the bike is NOT running, but someone might drive-up, behind. That is really my only caveat about this shorty sort of modification. I saw a segment about some apparently sponsored track races featuring race-modified RE bikes. They had smallish nose fairings, as you might expect, but they ALSO had a sort "reverse-take" on the cone fairing that is on the rear end of the single-seat. It fit upside-down, UNDER the front of the bottom of the engine, sort of the way you might expect a bolt-on "Ricochet" protective PLATE, on a Dirt Bike or Dual Sport, but just-for aerodynamic slipperiness, and NOT for underside protection. ALL of the bikes in this racing format appeared identical, except for varying racing numbers, and these underslung, underside fairing pieces were the matching RED of the rest of the bikes' paint jobs. I wonder if YOU could get one in the shiny chrome, to-match, or if, since both the FRAME and the stripe on your tank are BLACK, just get one, or paint one in BLACK. It looked like something that would be SUPER easy to install, and you might get a kick out of putting-on this subtle, but very cool-looking mod. I really doubt if it could be very expensive, and it looked GREAT! Thank you for sharing how you do stuff, without acting like Mr. Know-it-All, 'cause your approach makes the idea of tackling of some of this seem attainable, instead of having people bowing-down, and crying-out, "We're not WORTHY!" Oh yes! I wore eye protecting when cutting, don't want any metal flakes in my eyes! No, the shorty tail doesn't have any reflectors. But, I did put refelctive tape on my rear licence plate frame.
New subscriber here. Maybe you can modify the U-Bend so you can just pull it to make it longer when you need to carry a luggage then push it back in if you're not carrying a bag. This way you don't have to keep swapping the plate number and tail lights. I love your bike and I'm planning to buy one as a second bike. Ride safe bro.
Hey Jerry.... Follow you here and on Insta. Amazing pics. Saw your recent camping pic....what saddlebags/mounts are you using now? Looks like a great clean, sleek look! Also, did they obscure your additional rear turn signals you installed on the top of your shocks?
They are inexpensive sidebags that I bought off Amazon, only around $50 but they fit the bike well (amzn.to/3L6fal6). I had to make my own brackets for the side bags due to the shorty tail conversion I made. I swap out the short tail and put the stock tail back on for the bags. So, yes, the turn signals on the shocks are blocked by the bags but when the bags are on I have the stock tail, stock tail light and turn signals on the bike so they're not needed.
The tires are Pirelli Scorpion Trail II Dual Sport. The rear tire size is 150/70-18, a bit wider than the stock 130/70-18. I did a video about changing the tires and also doing a tubeless conversion on the spoked rims th-cam.com/video/7dTebUBmmdo/w-d-xo.html
They are "Pirelli Scorpion Trail II Dual Sport" tires. I converted the rims to tubeless and put the standard sized 100/90-18 tire on the front, and I put a wider 150/70-18 tire on the back.

I recently added a new pannier rack to the stock tail rather than using the throwover bags. Makes the bag setup much better.

That's pretty SLICK, but I kept on feeling like I need to slip-on some EYE Protection, while you were doing some of this! 😃 Curious as to whether the shorty lighting set-up has any REFLECTORS for when the bike is NOT running, but someone might drive-up, behind. That is really my only caveat about this shorty sort of modification.
I saw a segment about some apparently sponsored track races featuring race-modified RE bikes. They had smallish nose fairings, as you might expect, but they ALSO had a sort "reverse-take" on the cone fairing that is on the rear end of the single-seat. It fit upside-down, UNDER the front of the bottom of the engine, sort of the way you might expect a bolt-on "Ricochet" protective PLATE, on a Dirt Bike or Dual Sport, but just-for aerodynamic slipperiness, and NOT for underside protection.
ALL of the bikes in this racing format appeared identical, except for varying racing numbers, and these underslung, underside fairing pieces were the matching RED of the rest of the bikes' paint jobs. I wonder if YOU could get one in the shiny chrome, to-match, or if, since both the FRAME and the stripe on your tank are BLACK, just get one, or paint one in BLACK. It looked like something that would be SUPER easy to install, and you might get a kick out of putting-on this subtle, but very cool-looking mod. I really doubt if it could be very expensive, and it looked GREAT! Thank you for sharing how you do stuff, without acting like Mr. Know-it-All, 'cause your approach makes the idea of tackling of some of this seem attainable, instead of having people bowing-down, and crying-out, "We're not WORTHY!"

Oh yes! I wore eye protecting when cutting, don't want any metal flakes in my eyes! No, the shorty tail doesn't have any reflectors. But, I did put refelctive tape on my rear licence plate frame.
New subscriber here. Maybe you can modify the U-Bend so you can just pull it to make it longer when you need to carry a luggage then push it back in if you're not carrying a bag. This way you don't have to keep swapping the plate number and tail lights. I love your bike and I'm planning to buy one as a second bike. Ride safe bro.
Sounds like an interesting idea but beyond the tools I have to actually build it!

Follow you here and on Insta. Amazing pics. Saw your recent camping pic....what saddlebags/mounts are you using now? Looks like a great clean, sleek look! Also, did they obscure your additional rear turn signals you installed on the top of your shocks?
They are inexpensive sidebags that I bought off Amazon, only around $50 but they fit the bike well (amzn.to/3L6fal6). I had to make my own brackets for the side bags due to the shorty tail conversion I made. I swap out the short tail and put the stock tail back on for the bags. So, yes, the turn signals on the shocks are blocked by the bags but when the bags are on I have the stock tail, stock tail light and turn signals on the bike so they're not needed.
What is the width of your rear tires and brand just curious. I also like single seat. I purchased my first RE Continental GT this Sept.
The tires are Pirelli Scorpion Trail II Dual Sport. The rear tire size is 150/70-18, a bit wider than the stock 130/70-18. I did a video about changing the tires and also doing a tubeless conversion on the spoked rims th-cam.com/video/7dTebUBmmdo/w-d-xo.html

Which tyres are those??
They are "Pirelli Scorpion Trail II Dual Sport" tires. I converted the rims to tubeless and put the standard sized 100/90-18 tire on the front, and I put a wider 150/70-18 tire on the back.
