Really starting to look the dogs. I like Royal Enfields, and yours is progressing nicely, will be good to see the completed bike. My father-in-law turned 92 last week, got his first Royal Enfiled when he was 16, has had a few others along with 30 other bikes over the years, and now owns and still rides, although no great saddle time these days, his current stead is a R.E. 350 Meteor.
Hi Tony, Thanks for your prompt reply to my comments. I feel we may have to agree to disagree on some points. Im a toolmaker by trade and have always done my own bike work, been wheel bulding since the age of 12 on pushbikes and have done many motorcycle wheel builds over the years. Its not a dark art, its easy and more people should have a go at these jobs themselves. Thanks again for your channel, i appreciate how much work you put in. Brian Armidale Australia
Sadly Brian not everyone has a background as a toolmaker, so you can’t judge other peoples approach based on the privilege your many years of training and experience. I wouldn’t trust riding on a wheel that I built myself. Having seen the process there is a lot of skill involved. It’s not a dark art at all but it is a skill that is learned and perfected over many years. As Chris said in the video it takes 100 or so builds before he considered himself an expert wheel builder. Not to mention the specialist tools that are required.
absolutely love what you’ve done to the bike. i have the same colour, can’t imagine what i would feel if i have mine done like this. absolutely stunning.
Loving the short seat conversion! It seems really good quality and goes together well. And really like the tail light and indicators. Looking good so far!
I thought you didn't like Royal Enfield interceptor, why are watching the customisation videos? Changed your mind, worried about the indian TH-cam army?

Looks great, I think the black seat would look better but I suppose it depends on what colour you go for on the tank. Can I suggest black renthal bars and bar end mirrors? Fork gators too maybe.
Yeah, not fixed on a seat colour yet, as I say they loaned me the brown one as the are waiting for black ones to come back into stock. It does kinda work with this colour scheme though
Short seat & rack both look fantastic-great video cheers. I stopped at 25 modifications on my Interceptor (before giving it to the wife) but if I had a spare £600 I would definitely do the seat/rack thing. 👍🏼, & maybe powder coating some of the shiny bits, a remap & a 2-into-1 exhaust to save a bit of weight (S&S cans in mine with straight through headers-sound great).
It's really shaping up nicely. I've been looking at replacing my indicators so I'll check out those Moblaze ones. Love the rear light too. Looking forward to the next chapter.
Hi Mate, firstly, love the videos... I've just bought the same short seat set from SOM and am using the Motogadget indicators as you have, but just wondering whether you are selling the rear wiring harness/could you make me one at a price so I can just plug and play? Cheers, keep em coming!
Loved the video! I bought a 22 Conti GT and I’m looking for some upgrade ideas. Came across your video and absolutely love the look of the seat and tail light. I just subscribed and I’m looking forward to all the upcoming videos! Thanks!
That is a very clean look. Minimalist, which I like. Mrs Traveller would have a bit of a squeeze on the back, but like it. Fork gaiters should be standard on all bikes. Especially as so cheap. ( £20 ) and look good as well as being practical. Enjoying the build. Safe, happy travels 👍
Good call! Something to consider when I look at the front end. I don’t need to worry about a pillion, so the seats plenty long enough for my fat backside 😉👍
Watching this one with interest. Will you be matching the front mudguard with a brushed version? Painting that rear would be a bit of a loss as it would be very similar to the OEM you removed, no? Great progress, looking forward to seeing what you do with the tank paint job. Keep warm.
I can keep staring at the bike like that. Btw I like the side panels, could you tell me where you sourced them from, and also what tires are those and their specs?
Hi, they are stock side panels, I drilled them and fitted mesh behind, then repainted, and easy job. The tyres are Dunlop Mutant and you can find out more in these episodes th-cam.com/video/tDyreLeKMng/w-d-xo.htmlsi=p8GTlnZevjaT8Yrq and th-cam.com/video/ps-0ZWxzNOg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CFnH_wN3FmORNBH3
Great Video Tony! I have the Baker express too, AEW pipes, and few other mods, love it. Keep the videos coming, very intrigued on seeing more updates 🙂
Nice one Tony. Lovely job 👏. Perhaps those indicators may be obscured if you carry a tail bag? I’m looking forward to the tank job and what colour you go for.
Yes, I bought them to go either side of the number plate, and I might move them there. I thought i'd mount them to show the option on this kit, but being so small i'm not sure i'll keep them there
Love following this build. The new seat looks fantastic. I think I’m with you on the shorter frame rail, though. It would look better if it ended right at the back of the seat. Also, that scratch hurt my soul. I had a huge scratch from a tank bag on my Bobber and it ruined me for days. Buffed out fortunately. You’re killing this build though. Bikes looking great and I’m already looking forward to the next vid!
Yep, I think once all the initial mods are done (in the spirit of the original no cut ethos) I will look at the short look modification. This ones not gonna buff out, its down to the metal, but it has shown me how 'thin' the RE stock paint job is!
Well done Tony 👏 she's looking well smart !!!!, the back end looks abit like a triumph ( cover up the front end with your hand and you will see ) anyway she's coming along nicely 👍. Peace out ✌️
Unfortunately the rack doesn’t work with the stock mudguard as the mudguard sits above the frame rails. If you put spacers in to raise it, then the rack doesn’t fit under the stock taillight. But you can use the short seat on its own with the stock mudguard
I think it looks terrific! I love the seat! Also what a great idea of fitting a rack on top of the frame therefore not having to cut & weld! I also like the small indicators & rear light look brilliant! Be interesting tho to find out if vehicles from behind can clearly see the indicator flashing? As am a complete novice when doing anything to do with wires, how easy was it? I like the look of the bike very nice!
Thanks, still a lot to do, but its getting there. The indicators are very bright, but I am going to move them onto a bracket so that they sit either side of the number plate. Wiring is pretty easy, with the right tools and taking your time its no real problem.
Short seat and rack look nice although my taste would be black not brown.. TBH I’m not a fan of the indicators but each to their own. Thanks for the video and looking forward to the next one.
Cheers Duncan, yep I originally was going for black diamond stitch, but they were waiting for stock, so they let me use this brown one. It’s works pretty well though I think?

Looking very nice there Tony. I like what you've done! (Not that it would matter a jot if I didn't! hehe) Bit of a bummer about the petrol tank but if you're going to repaint it anyway then no harm no foul, shit happens. Looking forward to what you decide on next. 👍
Very tasteful mods they are Tony. It is shaping up really nicely but I still reckon that exhaust is still too short and too load…..but a really well produced and edited video thanks😁

Looking good Tony, clever with the studs in the seat 👍🏻
Cheers, yes it looks pretty cool. It is a one off seat, but i might see if they'll sell me that one to keep on the bike
I like the short seat and rack, but not sure about the tiny indicators, tbh🤔
