I literally threw some eggs into a clear plastic cup with salt water, put it in a window that got some Sun during the day and 24 hours later I had thousands of the little critters swimming about. I don't understand why people spend money on blenders and other equipment to hatch these things. I got about a 90% hatch rate. Good enough.😁
The only thing that is really important is the good amount of salt and temperature. Feed them with spirulina or activayed yeast, they will grow to adult and breed. No more need to buy them after that 1st batch.
@@mr.octopus6972 after they grow up , changing their water is the problem. I had raised BS till they were big enough to breed but the water needs to be kept clean and maintain salt water was a headache
Hi Albert, I have couple of questions here. 1) Will the brine shrimps egg hatch in normal room temperature or we need the water to be on the warmer side? 2) How long the brine shrimps will stay alive after they hatch? Thanks 😊
depends on the brand of bbs usually in a small space or in the hatchery it will die in 2 to 4 days but you can keep them for long periods of time but the protein cotent of the bbs will slowly die out the more they grow older if you continue to raise them 55% to 60% protein will go down to 50% to 40% it will greatly affect the protein needs of your also i think heat from light sources is enough.
Thanks a lot my dear friend for such videos which are concise, information rich, direct to the heart. Your series on Guppies are next to none on the subject. Just can you make a video on the diseases and the treatments? Regards
Good video 👍👍...i love watching your channel... I've tried it with and without airpump... In my experience the hatch rate is much better with the airpump like maybe almost 10x better and maybe quicker ..within 15-17 hrs...
Nice for a few fish but a hatchery is much more affective and better survival rates for a fish breeder, you also get lots of the unhatched eggs which can kill your fish fry and cause a blockage
No. Just water, salt, and the brine shrimp eggs. I have a desklamp (like the Pixar one) and I place it over the open containers. It seems to generate a little heat, and I’ve had success with this method.
Look at all the unhatched eggs at the bottom, 100% would recommend an air pump. Helps Alot , your losing too much eggs for every batch. dont be cheat buy an airpump
WOW that’s a lot of eggs to make at one time? It makes me think you have not been doing this for very long. Also that’s enough salt for 2 litres of water.

The method is fine but I feel like there should be actual measurements of water and salt given. Or maybe not...I guess it works ok with some water, some salt, and not too much eggs.

No it's rock salt in hindi we call it "Jada namak"
I have tried 3 times to hatch them but it's not working idk why 😭
Brine shrimp may need heat to hatch, your temp is probably too cold
