it also depends on how much you want to hatch. one of those 2L bottles filled with a boat load of shrimp needs the air hose and stuff so they all get enough of what they need to hatch and live. a couple in a relatively large container with a small number to feed like this is a different set of needs.

Liked. Bro, use the light method.
Pipette is good. Now wrap the jar with cloth etc so its nearly completely dark. Leave a small hole at bottom.
Now leave in dark for 15min. Then shine a light, flashlight etc. theough the ooened flap you used to make it dark. Do this at bottom!!!! Now ALL completely hatched brine Shrimps will follow the light and eggs stay behind at top. Suck up fresh brine without any eggs attached 👍
( sorry for crappy explaining )

2 months later edit: It is a great method! Wow I wasted a lot of time, energy, and salt in the past for mediocre results.
I'm using different ones than you, so I pull from the center of the water column to avoid what's in the top and bottom. And I need some new tea filters. The ones I have are pleated at the bottom which is a pain. I put mine near my vivarium light, because it gets around 90 degrees right under it.

@@chelsieuk You should get results after 24 hours. Im not convinced the water needs to be hard. I use a couple of pinches of bicarbonate soda to help buffer the water. Not needed really as my water is hard. Before using eggs shake bag well as salt is at the bottom. Make sure your brand is hobby artemix as it comes with salt already added. 3 scoops is plenty of spoon provided. Make sure the hatchery gets some light. Room light is enough. The most important part is the salt because I have used spring water before and got results. You should get two days worth at least. Rinse and repeat. Great food source.

Baby brine shrimp are an amazing food to feed to induce spawning in fish and also is an extremely common and easy food to feed for fry. Bbs is usually fed to either fry or small fish, the extra protein also allows fry to grow much faster

Mr Delightful, Please remove light rom your account name as well and make it deful daze. Ofcourse you can hatch brine shrimp eggs, without air pump, without light and without salt as well, but whats the use. The main purpose of hatching a brine shrimp eggs is not getting fulfilled here.
The technique you have used to hatch without air pump is ok but that will not work for 2 to 3 grams of cyst, you need a bigger surface conainer for that, hence an airpump is used to keep the eggs in circulation in less water.
The eggs will hatch without light but Light is required because its a trigger point for all the eggs to start hatch. Also the protein content inside the cyst is generated when you expose it to light, whats the use of feeding something which doesnt have protein generated in it.
without salt also the brine shrimp hatches but dies in 20 minutes.
so when you boast about something on net make sure you give all the details, or else there is no difference between you and other people who love to post shit on net.
