Brine shrimp eggs need water pH of 8 to 8.3 for a perfect hatch. If your water is less pH than 8 then use baking soda to increasw the pH to 8 to 8.3. . If your water is already 8 or 8.3 dont add baking soda or else youbwill get lower hatxh

Baking soda is NOT dependent on brand... use baking soda only when you need to increase the pH of you water. Brine shrimp needs pH of around 8 to 8.3. If you water has the required pH then no need of baking soda You can use baking soda if your water pH is lower than 8. Add baking sods to make your water alkaline upto 8 or 8.3. Hope thia gives a clear understanding.

Usually 20g of BBS is enough to raise 1 batch of betta fry until they can eat tubifex worm
