    Awesome! I have the same stove AND from Sudbury. I will be going to princess auto for the welding blanket!

    Brilliant man.. I never would have thought of using the welding blanket..

      I would've insulated it with either exhaust tape or fiberglass as well just to be sure because most standard welding blankets can only take about 1000 degrees and a stove pipe can get much hotter than that.

    Awesome. That's our set up as well. It's a poor man's castle on the lake. We sleeps and ice fishing on ours.

    Great set up ill do the same with the 45 angle muffler pipe...I have the same stove it seems to smoke alot so I drilled 4 holes near the the top at the back of the stoves it helps keeping smoke out when opening the door.

      Nice, I'll try the same drilling holes , did it help lots??

    • @jeffhawkins4419

      @@craig3818 ..yes it does especially when starting the woodstove...I drilled 5 - 1/2" holes 3/4 up the back and when its going good I plug the holes with short half inch bolts...I guess you could make a rear damper for the back but I wanted it simple.

    The bent pipe you have . you can buy tht pipe already bent at various angles at any automotive place...Autozone, etc.. about 7 bucks..also buy adapters for the end pieces to fit different size pipe.

    Looking at getting an Eskimo to use as a hot tent as well as ice fishing teat. Do you use it as a hot tent for camping and sleeping in much? How would you say that it does? Also what would be a suitable size to sleep two people with gear? Thanks

    • @craig3818
      @craig3818  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haggard Wilderness it works awesome as a hot tent , sets up in 5 minutes, mine is 10 feet by 12 feet long and with the stove and 3 cotts it's perfect

    I don't suppose you've ever been rained on with that tent? I'm curious how well that material sheds water, if at all. I have the big round model, 6120i that I was thinking of using as a tent on land as well, but I still have yet to try it out as an ice fishing shelter lol. Btw I like the welding fabric in the window idea, I might do that on my own tent

    • @craig3818
      @craig3818  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brent Barrett I used it in light rain , it sheds water really well, it's more waterproof than a regular tent

    Does it heat up nice? I like the idea of this a lot better than spending $1200 on a canvas hot tent.

      Eric B it gets so hot inside you have to open windows

    I'm curious did you have to have that bent pipe scratch to 2 and 3/4. Or something like that. Because I live in Minnesota and I have one of those military stoves and I've gone to two or three different muffler shops and they say they can't stretch it flare it to what I need. One of the places made me one that will slide in tight but I don't know if it'll work I just picked it up I don't know. They all say they can't flare it that far I wonder how come you got it made but so far nobody in America can do it LOL what did you have done different I wonder is that a special pipe size or something that you had flared and bent. Just curious I'm getting a headache trying to get this done LOL I wonder what size diameter that pipe was before it was stretched, flared? Was that a regular piece of pipe for a car? Just curious trying to figure this out.

    • @craig3818
      @craig3818  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know the diameter of the pipe they stretched, I brought in one of the original pipes from the stove , they found the biggest pipe they had , and made it fit on the original, I thought about it later and I guess you could just get the muffler shop to bend one of the original stove pipes that came with the stove

    NOT a military stove. Military stoves are wood and diesel burners. Military wouldn't be caught dead with that toy.

    • @EricFB
      @EricFB 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I'd like to assume most people know it's not actually a mil spec stove. That said when you look it up on amazon it is titled as a 'military stove'. Just a name, doesn't have to be literal.

    NOT A MILITARY STOVE. AMAZED AT HOW SO MANY PEOPLE CALL A STOVE A MILITARY STOVE.
