You're welcome, happy you found it helpful. Mine was also staked, the impact will unstake it as it removes the nut. If you don't want to unstake it first. Thanks for watching and commenting, much appreciated.
there is a crush sleeve, he is tightening the pinion bolt too tight. he didn't even torque. he drove that seal too in. This would give him a bunch of headache
No, I didn't tighten it too tight. I never torque. The seal was not in too far and no headaches. It works perfectly, doesn't leak and has had 1000s of miles put on it without issue. It's fine.
@DJCHARLY503 I got mine from Rock Auto. I cannot put R.A. links here. Look up 93 T100 with 8.4 rear end. Be sure to select correct engine size as some 4cyl trucks had a different size. Description may say Fits Tacoma, Tundra and T100 Hope this helps.
@andrewgiancola4928 Right on, you're welcome. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the video. Hope it all goes smoothly, give me a hollar if you have any questions. I appreciate your support.
Do not follow what thus ma. Is saying. What he calls a dust shield around the seal .and he says it doesn't matter. That is a lie. And you do not use a hammer backyard mechanic use . A real technician would use a puller .. this gives real auto technicians a BAD NAME
I'm not giving anyone a bad name. My method of removal and installation both work. That seal is installed and working fine. What I said is a dust shield is the rubber flange and I was referring to it doesn't matter if you hit it, it's rubber. I'm definitely not a certified technician. But my method will get your seal in every time. Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate your input.
Fumble fucking around. I like it. About as back yard as it gets. No torque spec or nothing. Done and works. Thanks ill be attempting this tomorrow
Yeah, I'm clearly not a certified technician.
But yes, done and works.
Enjoy the project.

Thanks for the video, helped me a lot. Just a sidenote my pinion nut was "staked" so I had to deal with that before i hit it with the impact.

it's been a year, did your repair hold up?
Yes it has.
The truck has accumulated about 26,000 miles since and no leaks or problems.
@@funjunkiegarage Thank you for your reply. my Landcruiser has a leaking pinion, so i'll be following your excellent tutorial to R&I the seal.

Use a gear puller.
Bolt type, not jaw type
rogh work.
Thank you for watching and commenting.
Use a bigger hammer.
Always good advice!
