Great video
Awesome! Thank you for watching and commenting.
Thank you for sharing this, I had some reserve thinking mine was gonna be stuck but that was not the case. One thing I saw in another persons TH-cam short th-cam.com/users/shortsv0pA_Z7yhPk, they were saying there are similar center carriers with or without dust shields in addition to the driveshaft dust seals. And that the centers with their own dust shields cause premature wear. I noticed yours had dust shields on the bearing and the driveshaft, maybe that's why yours are going out faster than you'd like? I feel like they should last longer than 2 years in normal circumstances, idk what yours is obviously, but I figured since you helped me, there's my two cents. Hope it helps you. Ps, i got a Spicer one (Spicer 211750-1X), and it said Toyota on it and it didnt have a dust shield on the bearing itself.
Glad yours wasn't stuck. I always appreciate the sharing of experiences and knowledge. I'll definitely check it out. Many people have suggested the Spicer unit and I'll certainly be giving it a try. Happy you enjoyed the video. I appreciate you watching and sharing your information.
What is that cable that runs across for?
The cable inside the drum pulls the bottom of the emergency brake lever and makes the front shoe move. Hope this helps.
I’ve got a diff drop, that I wanna remove. Any idea what the bolt diameter and length from the factory is. I’m sure I can pull it, and measure but is you know I’ll ask. By the way your channel is one of the best first gen tundra channels
The factory bolt is approximately 7.5" × 5/8" except it's metric. But that will get you back together. That is definitely an awesome compliment for my channel! Thank you for saying so. I absolutely appreciate your support.
@@funjunkiegarage the length was what I was most concerned about Thank you sir
@jasonthurman9922 you're welcome.
Bad spotter. Turn a little to the passenger 😂😂😂😂
I'll try that next time

that engine could have been used for someone who needs a car mate
Yes it could have. But no one wanted it. Thanks for watching and commenting.
average cost to replace a 1998 3.4 engine? i am planning a swap with a clean low mileage 3.4.
I like to have everything fresh and do all the maintenance stuff while it's out. If it's clean and dry and runs great, you may not need much. I'd figure a couple hundred for fluids and tune up stuff , if it needs a timing belt there is 300.00 to 500.00 depends on parts supplier. Just make sure you get a good look and replace what it needs you'll be glad you did when it's all together and trouble free. Hope this helps.
Do you have a link for the kit you bought?
I buy the full Aisin kit from Rock Auto. I cannot put Rock Auto links here. I've always had great success with the Aisin kit. It has Koyo bearings and I've used it several times Hope that helps.
Awesome vid. Is that a Mitsubishi belt? Or mitsuboshi? With an O
It is a Mitsubishi belt. It's part of the Aisin kit.
just use a c clamp to compress the bach plate ,much eaiser😊
Thank you. That's a great idea. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge.

Great test, does your tundra have lockers in this video? Just curious how well the stock axles do off camber.
Thank you. There is a Lock Right locker in the rear in this video. I love it. Thank you for watching and commenting
@@funjunkiegarage awesome almost looks like the front tire in the air spun some too. thought maybe you had a locker up front as well. Nice tundra build for sure.
@lukebrinkman9263 thank you, I love it. Front locker is in the plans, I'll do another re gear to 4.88 at that time.
Love the helmet, and really like the color. The goggles take it to the next level. Glad to see you back up and around, take it easy so you can heal.
Thanks Mark I knew you'd like the blue. I dig the goggles too. On my way to 100% Can't wait to see you soon. Much appreciate you brother.

Thank you for the kindness. Happy to be be getting better every day. I plan to rock the helmets! I very much appreciate your support.
Wish you a speedy recovery and glad you're doing well! The blue helmet is pretty darn sharp! Hang in there, take care of yourself. I'll keep you in my prayers.
Thank you brother. Plan to get back to my best soon as possible. Much appreciate all your support.
Hey man recently got 2.5 inch lift on my gx with bigger tires, and alignment, wheels rubbing hard not softly but hard, lower control arm bushings are bad shape, want to change out lower control arms at home do I have to get alignment, scared to do it at home if I can’t make it to alignment shop without hurting the tires
If the bushings are worn badly you'll definitely need an alignment. But you can get it close at home first. Not sure how far away from the alignment shop you are but a drive across town won't kill your tires if you're close on alignment. Setting toe with a tape measure is easy and gets you in good enough shape to drive a bit. Hope this helps. I sure appreciate you watching and commenting.
Why is it impossible to find the interval on the belt? Only miles or km, what about years/months? Going and look at a 99 land cruiser today, got 1500km on the belt but 8 years.
I go by average of 90,000 miles or 8 years. It's not exposed to the elements or oil hopefully so that seems fair to me. Just my opinion. The one on my Tundra looks new, but it's at 95,000 and 8 years, so I'll be changing it soon. Hope this helps. I appreciate you watching and commenting.
Great job my friend. Some day I'll get over to see the latest stuff. Wife has been in and out of the hospital lately. Have a super great day sir.
Thanks Bruce Stop by some time.

Great video. I have 82 the inside seal is leaking so time for a rebuild.
Thank you. Enjoy your project. I appreciate you watching and commenting
I know its a year old but good info. Can the crankshaft position sensor be replaced just by removing the fan and plastic cover over the belt?..or will I have to remove the alternator as well? I will be replacing the sensor and connector. Thanks
I think you'll need to remove the alternator as well, just for eaiser access. I'm not 100% sure but I think so. Hope this helps
Looks awesome but Im not playing around in Harlan. Ive seen justified😂
Hahahahahaha That park is no joke. Easy to get injured if you aren't paying attention.
Normally, hills and obstacles don't look too bad in videos. Then you see them in person and say, "Oh shit." I said, Oh shit watching this video. Good job, man loved it
Thanks brother. This is a pretty gnarly spot for sure. Definitely an oh shit moment for sure. Thanks for watching I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Very impressive. Are you liking the Tundra better than a 4runner?
Thank you. I definitely like it better than a 4runner. More room and very comfortable, same capability.
Beautiful tundie man I hope to get one myself soon its my dream truck
Nice, thank you brother . I hope you get one soon.
Great video 👍🏼 did you get the idling to smooth out?
Thank you. Yes, after running it for a bit and adding fresh fuel it started running much better. Much appreciate you watching and commenting.
What size would I need for a 2001 Toyota Tacoma sr5 can't figure it out I could really use some help on information thank you
Same 7.5" clamshell bushing as the one listed here. If in doubt contact ECGS. But it's the same
@@funjunkiegarage thanks a lot brother
Absolutely. It's an easy install.
@@funjunkiegarage yeah I have rebuild the whole front end except the diff in the last month got that wobbly thing going and could figure it out till I watched your video and a couple others and really appreciate y'all's time for the video brother
@johnny-k6l you're welcome man. Glad you found the help you needed. I appreciate your feedback.
The good thing about the first Gen 4Runners was that it came on a SAS
Up until 85 they had the solid front axle as factory. This is an 88 so he did a solid axle swap to this one. Thanks for watching and commenting
Did you replace the tiny filter on the side of the injectors?
Yes,.they are included in the kit.
They were good trucks
Indeed, built well from the factory.
Fucken aye, I love this build. 😂
Thanks brother. I absolutely love it too. Much appreciate you supporting my channel.
I was going to buy a double cab but after watching your video now I know i need a access cab. Tank's 👍
You're welcome. I had a double cab, much bigger and heavier. For offroad use I love the access cab. Thanks for watching and supporting my channel
if any of you yota gooners came here wondering exactly what can go - you only need the vac from the brake b and the dizzy, as for wires all you need is the ones for the choke (grounded hot when key is on)and the ignition system ,starter, alt, and temp. (fuel shutoff sol on carb optional) and obviously lights. edit they make adapter plates to 4bbl air cleaners
Nice, thank you for sharing your knowledge.

You sir are a true hero. Took me about an hour cus I had to take a torch to some rusty bolts but this saved so much time compared to dropping the whole driveshaft. For anyone wondering, process is the exact same on 01 tacoma 4x4. Thank you for sharing this video!

@DJCHARLY503 I got mine from Rock Auto. I cannot put R.A. links here. Look up 93 T100 with 8.4 rear end. Be sure to select correct engine size as some 4cyl trucks had a different size. Description may say Fits Tacoma, Tundra and T100 Hope this helps.
Really cool to see a tundra offroading
Thanks man. I have to say it's an awesome wheeler.

I have the Firestone ride rite air bags and I got them from a company called Trucksprings.com
It's not a yota but it did pretty good.
