- Quick update on the 1975 350 v8 monza after driving it around for a year. The spark plugs were definitely fried when we picked this car up and now have finally gotten bad enough where it’s getting annoying to drive. Since you have to lift the motor to change them we’ve decided to do all the jobs this car needs at once, and we gave it one final send-off before tearing it apart.

Nice sleeper travis
That’s the idea lol
Sounds way better.
Good Morning Travis
I did that in a 78 Camaro torn transmission up
Wow! I had a 77 2 + 2 with the iron duke. Bright yellow with a hood stripe rear spoiler from factory and loverves on the hatch and black splatter about 1/3 up the doors- ha! All show not a lot of go! With new headers wheels brakes you’ll have a real sleeper maybe some better suspension- that Monza will really move! Love it!
I'm tempted to run louvers and a spoiler, but I don't want to drill my hatch
My Dad bought me a spoiler from the factory- they had to pull out the mold to create it- ha! The ones on the rear quarter panels was attached via bolts it came with and drilled the quarter panel. The spoiler itself we attached with rivets and some of that black sealing tape kinda what’s around a windshield- it looked great! Didn’t leak either!
Wow where did the time go.
You will fix it.
Your knowledge for your age is awesome. At my age I Don't impress easily but you manage to do it.😊
The question is how old do you think I am?
My all time favorite car was my monza, sounds good with the cheater pipe and muffler.
Thank you for your great videos. I really miss my monza, mine had the 265cu V8. Super dependable and trouble free, only problem was door hinge bushings. Keep making videos 👍
Them doors ain’t light
Excellent expirament 💥💨
I just found your 6 videos on this car tonight and viewed them all consecutively. I have had 3 V8 Monzas over the years. I still have 2 of them. One is a 75 350 2+2 which appears to be all original except for 1 repaint in the original beige color. The car has been sitting in my garage for about 20 years, which is when the gas tank started leaking. I will be retiring in 3 years and getting the car back on the road will be my first priority. Your videos are getting me fired up. Hopefully you have gotten the headers installed, I am looking forward to seeing the video!
Our gas tank leaks too. Maybe it was a common thing?
Yes, I think it was, my other one has a rusted out tank too. I found another non rusty tank, it has some fairly big dents but I would rather deal with dents than rust. @@travisblack417
Very interested in this project. Wish it was a Spyder 4spd, but way sleepier this way.
Could drop in a cammed 283-327 small journal would be nice and happy, with some good heads but the beauty is you can do whatever you want or have access to.
@@kenitsanoutragecandia3939 we plan to get aluminium heads on this shortblock mostly just to get the weight down. Once the small block has done it’s job it will get one of my many aluminum LS’
Def can't go wrong with that. I'll stay tunned. Love that you drive them in all stages of build like when we had to drive them to work the next Monday.@@travisblack417
So, fun facts that I just learned! The Spyder's main trick was the F41 HD suspension that every '75 2+2 had, which became optional for the S trim and for 1976+ cars. So, the 350 cars are actually Spyders with bigger engines and automatic only (4spd too weak), just with no stripes.
Going to need a reasonable 6.0 or 5.3l depending on your inventory
Way ahead of you lol. We’re still going to see what we can accomplish with the SBC first.
The badge says 5.7, i can't argue with that
It says Litre 😂
strange how everyone used the vega swap, but you never seen these on the street or strip? is this one smog ex?
Yep, 75 and before is no smog in CA
Hey Travis, do you want to sell the Monza when your done with it? I’d love one again. I just don’t know enough about them to build them.
No, but you can definitely find one yourself. They’re out there.
