- I was contacted by a viewer and told that they had an engine that was hastily swapped out of a 2017 Cadillac Escalade and had been sitting on his shop floor for about a year. Someone guessed that it potentially “dropped a valve” but no one had any idea. I was hoping that maybe it just had a common AFM lifter issue and that I would score one of my dream engines totally free. Nothing in life ever comes that easy.
If anyone is looking for any of the parts from this motor please contact me. I would prefer to not throw some of the stuff away, but I also don’t want to store it until I die of old age.
Also if anyone has an engine they want me to fully open up and inspect please reach out.

"Dr. T Motor Examiner" needs to be wearing his scrubs when doing an engine autopsy. 😁 Had an NOS cam that sat on a shelf (likely horizontal) for over 60 years and it was bent .004. Even in a half block Corvair engine it did all kinds of crazy stuff. So no wonder the crank and cam were so tight in the free engine. BTW, two V-blocks and a hammer in just the right places straighten the cam within half a thou and that was good enough!
You have the craziest luck. Ive never got a free engine OR seen ls's in my local junkyard. The unemployed locals pull the blocks cheap and mark them up outside.
Great video. I've been wanting to learn more about the LT1 's and the LT4's. What a mess that one is.
Wow so much carnage
Man that cam was a pain.
Thanks for showing .👍🏻 difference in 6.2 engine the heads are way different 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😎
So like you said. Those 6.2 heads are like GM Hipo NASCAR stock WOW. Yeah talking Big port Not polished just factory 🤪 l Had an L88 427. Yeah that was 500hp easy running mid 11s ets yeah
