If "ebay is not meant to be a card flipping site," then why has ebay implemented features to attract "card flippers" to sell on its platform (i.e. Vault, mandatory authentication service for $250+ card sales, etc.). Why does ebay advertise at large sports cards shows?
I mentioned this in other videos, but on top of the insertion fee, final value fee, shipping fees, and shipping supplies you mentioned, you also have a major expense added when you pay for Card Dealer Pro ($20-$40 /month) and your eBay store.( $60=+/ mo.). That's why I'm hesitant to go all in with all of the cards I have.
You don't really need to pay for Card Dealer Pro every month. You pay for one month to list all the cards you want and then cancel. I wrote several articles for sports card investor that talk about how I sell low end cards. I have around 65,000 listings on ebay myself. It helps to get card supplies direct from the manufacturers by opening a business account and getting a tax ID. My profit margin for one $1 card is around 71 cents.
@@karmy2005 Ah! I did not realize you could cancel Card Dealer Pro and pay only the month you use it. I figured it was a subscription. What level store do you have to keep that many cards rolling over each month?
and you def dont need to have an ebay store to be successful. I just started selling early June and have sold 150 cards already. Thats like an avg of 50 cards a month and im still in the early stages of listing stuff too. My store has around 400 cards now but once I can scale it up to 2,000, the numbers will be a lot larger
You gotta spend money to make money my friend. And selling low end cards is an economy of scale…you need to be listing, selling, and shipping as many as possible every month for as little time as you can make it take. If you can pay for tools that allow you to list, pack, and ship 10-20X what you could do just doing it all manually, it’s a no brainer. A good Card Dealer Pro subscription level is what..$40 a month or something…but it can literally help you list enough cards in only a few hours to pay for the service for an entire month.
I tried to sell my cheap end card to get rid of in singles with fee shiiping my first sell, with transaction fees and sales tax and cheapest shipping my profit was negative 10

Do you ever have issues with sellers who buy multiple cards but when they checkout, they pay for each card individually? So you get dinged 30 cent insertion fee for each? When they can just pay together as one order
@@SamuelJ888 I think they do that on purpose then that’s more insertion fees for eBay some time I be wanna turn my best offer off but I’m trying to stay in search I know customer like because I have buyer send me off 1 for card I tell them have to buy multiple I’ll let them get 1 buck each
@@rabbit6070 yep i always keep best offer on regardless of the price and just deal with those who try to offer $1 + free shipping. Its a bit annoying but whatevas. I pretty much now only list cards if i think i can get $2 shipped for them. So usually ppl don't go too low but there are always some who think cards will get magically transported to them
So what is the best way to set it in ebay so that lets say to get the low $1.60 card price you have to buy at least 3 cards. Can you set a minimum order $ amount?
I'm not sure if you can set a minimum order amount for a certain price. you can run promotions though that give discounts based on the purchase quantity. Like I've run 30% off 5 cards or more, so if you do a little math you can figure out what it would take % wise to get it there.
I had a $1500 order of 287 individual signed cards from a buyer..It was crazy... Took me 2 hours to pick all the cards.. LOL Would love to get rid of my Ebay Office. I have one that is my inventory and one office for shipping and listing. $425 a month takes a chunk out of Profit. Total goal is when I decide to retire I will only be a card and media seller.
Thanks for answering! I was looking at consistency on sales just in general haha and I think you answered it with the 3-4k listings when you started to see those. How do you like the 7030? Is it good with penny sleeves? Looking to start scanning at a low entry price point.
the 7030 works well for me, to use penny sleeves i had to remove the top roller on the inside. after that it worked fine, ill occasionally have 2 cards scanned at once but its pretty good
For ebays fees, even though it's what 13-14 percent plus the ebay x amount of listings per month for free but really u pay another sellers fee of 30 cents on every sale regardless of what the card sales for, btw is it legal to be charged twice as a seller on the same item within the same transaction, if so can we charge twice the shipping fees or add in handling fees far superior to the shipping cost that ebay cant touch, being it's a service not a item, because seller fees are for items sold, the 39 cent fee is a service fee more than a seller fee which should be title seller service fee, but then again they wony be able to charge the booster view b.s. they want u to accept, so honestly ebay revolves their policies to their advantageit's crazy, last time I checked policies are fired employees, ebay does not make payroll deposits every other week to me, so being I'm a small business I have my own pokicies, u know how ebay sends u a policy update once a year or 2, I made mine simple & they actually have a copy & I have proof they have recieved it, my business policy that they have not denied because I still have my sellers account with them is the first time & every time after ebay changes the policies they expect the sellers to accept automatically us if it is an INCREASE for ebay to take from me & @ the same time lessen my profits compared to when I first signed up with them then it is to be canceled & I'm paid all profits & Ebay gets 5.2 percent just because I'm a giving asshole, they have broken my policy 216 times since they recieved my policy

I 💯 agree with you. Ebay is nothing but greedy. We should try and do something about it. Bring them down to earth a bit.
Let's start a crusade against Ebay.
eBay is a reseller site like for garage sale items and not really meant to be a card flipping site.
Bullshit to that dumbass comment.

I just heard a word that I've never heard before Mul-tie or Mul-ty instead of mul-tee (multi) How much is 5-8 oz.? We always measure in grams.
Your prices are too low. I don't sell a card for less than 2 bucks plus shipping. If it's a common I bundle them in a team bundle.
Ebay's trouble is hiring a CEO that isn't capable of running a dog kennel...
